How does the typical day of Arushi Sharma go while preparing for UPSC exams?

A typical day in my life during preparation looked like what I am sharing below. Though not all days were like this but most days would go by in this manner. This is a rather descriptive schedule, also it wasn’t as rigid as written but broadly this.4:00 a.m Wake up4:15 - 6:30 a.m Study (This used to be the most productive time for my study so I used to keep this time for THE MOST IMPORTANT TOPICS)6:30 a.m -7 a.m Get Ready to go to coaching (Sometimes I would even sneak in a few minutes to take a quick “Power nap” :P)7 a.m - 8 a.m Travelling time in the metro and the subsequent walk up to class ( I initially tried to read the newspaper in the metro during my travel time but later completely gave up on studying during travelling as I found it extremely hard to do, also I did not retain much of what I read during this time.8 a.m - 10:30 a.m Pub Ad Optional coaching class at Vajiram and Ravi10:30 a.m - 11 a.m Break (Generally went in eating idli at the South Indian joint below the metro in Old Rajendra Nagar or drinking juice :P)11 a.m - 1:30 p.m G.S coaching class again at Vajiram and Ravi1:30 p.m - 2 p.m Generally went in discussions like “This class was horrible!”, “So much to study!”, “ I will definitely fail in prelims!”, “How much course did you finish?”, “Once the result comes I will go for a long trip/Once the result comes I will not read NCERTs ever” etc.2 p.m -3 p.m Travelling time in the metro to reach home (Again I NEVER studied during this time, I used to be pretty tired from all the note making I did in class. Yes, I made notes in three colored pens.)3:15 p.m - 3 : 45 p.m Lunch (Sometimes I reached home by 3:15 p.m)3:45 p.m - 5:30 p.m SLEEP (My most favorite time of the day!)5: 30 p.m - 6:30 p.m Newspaper (My most dreaded time of the day!)6:30 p.m - 8:00 p.m Study (This was the time I generally spent with NCERTs or studying my optional.)8:00 p.m - 8:30 p.m Dinner along with some funny TV show (I used to watch The Simpsons because it was extremely hilarious and it used to calm my nerves and make me feel like there is still some joy left in this world! :P)8:30 p.m - 10: 00 p.m/10:30 p.m Study (Again NCERTs, my notes or my optional depending on the mood/portion/coming test etc.)10:00 p.m/10:30 p.m Lights Out!Once my coaching was over I tried to use up all the time saved from coaching classes and travelling for studying. Though, out of this I would make sure to use up one hour to go to the park for a brisk walk or a jog. Without classes, I would try to keep my productive hours in a day around an average of 10 daily.Hope this helps! :)

What is your timetable during a drop year?

It is pretty difficult for me to explain my whole timetable which I followed 7 year before. But I will try to explain. Most of the time I used to failed to follow my timetable. By the way, let’s talk about daily routine in my drop year.I used to wake up at 4 AM in the morning. From 4 to 6 a.m, I used to revise previous days topics. From 6 to 8:30 a.m with one or two breaks of 10 mins I used to study biology. I gave this much time to biology because I can’t learn all the things of the biology. I often used to forget previous things. So I have to revise it again and again. From 8:30 am to 9: 30, I used to take rest and watched some videos or T.V.From 9:30 am to 12:30 pm I used to be with my chemistry books. After half an hour break, I used to be with (my favorite) physics from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.At 3:30 I used to depart for my coaching class which used to be by 8 o’clock. It take 30 minutes to reach my coaching, So I used to reach at home by 8:30 or some time 8:45. At 8:30 PM watch T.V accompanying my dinner. And from 9:20 to 10:30 PM another 1 hour self study. By 10:30 I used to to get to my bed. This was my Time Table which I followed for 1 year and got my dream. Make one for yourself as it suits you. It will be far better than to follow any other’s timetable.

Quick and easy to use. The only thing that would be nice is to be able to edit the original document itself. But otherwise I love it!
