Go to your city’s website and see if you can print an eviction notice.Fill it out and have a friend or someone else to had it right to him.If he’s supposed to be giving you rent, you could possibly have a realtor that would be able to give him a sooner eviction notice.It really depends on what your laws are in your city.

It was about 18 years ago. I was a real estate agent, going to check out a property for clients who wanted to list it for sale. It was a very remote, off the grid large property, with a cabin. There had been squatters living on the property for at least a couple of years, while my owners had been out of the country. We hired someone to determine who the squatters were, and to serve them with eviction notices. So I went there after they had moved off (I hoped), to see what needed to be done to get it ready to sell. The person who had done the eviction said there had been a dog there when he checked on the status of the eviction, but he didn’t know if they were coming back for the dog. I had previously seen the property from a distance when I was showing another parcel nearby. I was expecting a mess, but I was totally shocked by the condition of the property. There were at least 25 vehicles, none running, many torn apart, the cabin was totally trashed, with garbage filling the downstairs, and all around the outside of the cabin and the rest of the property. They had been sleeping on a blanket upstairs, surrounded by more trash. A little dog barked at me, trying valiantly to defend her “territory”. Even from 6 feet away, her smell was overwhelming. I had brought food to leave her in case someone planned on coming back for her. I quickly dropped that plan and picked her up and put her in my truck, which my husband had to clean and disinfect afterwards. There had been a kitten there, but he quickly ran out through one of the holes in the wall of the cabin, and I wasn’t able to catch him. I never found him.When I got the dog home, the first thing I did was bathe her. The water first ran black, from all the dirt and crud, then red from all of the ticks and fleas. I took her to the vet, and she had heart worm so bad that she had a heart murmur. We had her treated for the worms, and named her Pepper. Normally, I would have tried to locate her owners, but I didn’t plan to do that. In fact, I quickly had her micro chipped, and registered her with a license. There was no way her previous owners were going to be able to claim her!The vet estimated her age at 5 years. We had her for another 10 years before she died.
