PDF Editor FAQ

I'm a 61-year-old woman, that always had thin hair, that had perms in my past, but my hair seems to be quite thinner now. Is it safe to get a perm?

Hello Ma'am as per me perming is the worst Torture or abuse one can subject his or her hair to.I had subjected my hair to this abuse as well at a very young age in ignorance 😅 because as i was naive and the person in salon didn't even warn of its aftermath as they just need to make money.Perming is definitely not safe and it damages the.hair structure permanently. All you can do Ma'am is just restoring the damage to whatever extent it can be done.Regards!

When your hair turns grey will you color it? Why or why not?

I’m 61 and have very little gray. There are some strands and a few bits in my brows.I colored my hair many, many times, everything from red to brown to black, when I was younger, which annoyed people who thought I should be content to have natural straight blonde hair. They were right. I should have been content. People pay a lot of money to replicate what I was born with. But I also wish my hair was what other people were born with sometimes. I’d trade blonde in a heartbeat for thick and wavy, but my hair will not do that for any price. I know because of the failed perms in the 80s. The curl would be great and I’d be so happy for 2 weeks, and then I’d have a frizzy “bad perm” until it grew out and was cut off. And yet I still tried this more than once. I wanted to believe my hair could hold a curl for more than an hour or so without a great deal of effort, many products and many tools. It will not.Now I use a demi-permanent box color on it a couple of times a year, the stuff you leave on for 10 minutes. It coats my hair and brightens it a bit without hurting it much, and the grey isn’t exactly covered over but it looks more like a highlight until the color washes out.Hair takes time, but I’m an insomniac and would rather sleep to the last possible minute and jam my hair into a careless ponytail. There’s an old expression: if your hair looks good, you look good. I think of that sometimes when I’m reaching for the hair elastic in the morning, knowing I can do better but that it’s too late now.

Is Malaysia a racist country?

In the beginning, Malaysia was not a racist country. To the contrary, Malaysia was a liberal, modern, forward looking, and progressive nation state. Even the Father of Independence, Tunku Abdul Rahman embraced multicultural society; adopting his children from Chinese families. In his personal life, Tunku drank alcohol for social events; while in public, he made official announcements in English.Among general society, Malays could freely dine at non-halal restraurants (ordering anything but pork dishes), drink beer, ladies covered or permed their hair as they wish (as an example watch P.Ramlee movies), and all three races played badminton in the same neighbourhood.Unfortunately, the county gradually shifted towards a more extreme right wing political spectrum after May 13 to the advantage of the political elites. Using the policy of divide and rule, local communities were divided among the lines of race/religion spats in an attempt to effortlessly win popular votes in the general election. For example, take a look at the subject of Malaysia’s Constitution in high school. Did you learn anything meaningful about the Constitution while in class? Most probably, your history teacher told you to rote learn the important points of constitution without really understanding the technical terms within it.The mother of all arguments and the most contentious issue in Malaysia is the Malay rights/ Bumiputra rights/Ketuanan Melayu. An issue which UMNO defend at every annual meeting. They even heroically wave a Keris every now and then to strike fear and terror into the hearts of Non-Muslims to never challenge the status quo, or else, blood will be spilled. But the fundamental problem is: Did the constitution mention anything about Malay rights? All Malaysians have rights; Malay, Chinese, Indian, & Orang Asli all have rights as stated in Part II of the Constitution under Fundamental Liberties.A right is defined as an entitlement. All Malaysians are entitled to liberty, equality, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of movement & etc. There is no mention of “Malay rights” in Malaysia’s Constitution. Only “Malay privileges”; which is conditional, temporary and can be revoked.Rights cannot be taken away, but privileges can be removed once certain conditions have been met.In Article 153, it only mentions “the special position of Malays” which is a measure to improve the perceived weakness of the Malay community in the commercial sector during independence.Article 153: “It shall be the responsibility of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to safeguard the special position of the Malays and natives of any of the States of Sabah and Sarawak and the legitimate interests of other communities in accordance with the provisions of this Article”.Government initiatives such as the New Economic Policy (NEP)/ National Development Policy (NDP) are always meant to be a temporary measure. But after more than 47 years of implementation of these two policies, how do we define a temporary measure? Would it be 30, 50, or 100 years? As a food for thought, the big questions are:Why politicians and political party members have not educated their constituencies on this matter for the past 61 years? Why has the Education Ministy not include this important piece of information into the curriculum on Malaysia’s constitution?31 Oct 2018 Update: Finally, a politician have voiced out about this issue: Keen Malay rights advocate, Rais Yatim now says ‘ketuanan Melayu’ not in Constitution
