I don’t know about putting it into production, but I would LOVE to see the restoration of this particular aircraft with modern engines. This is the McDonnell 119, later called the McDonnell 220 — a prototype small military transport from the 1950s that lost out to the Lockheed Jetstar for a USAF contract. There was only one 119/220 ever built and it is still parked in New Mexico.The story goes that, having lost the USAF contract and unable to sell the 119/220 in the bizjet market, McDonnell Aircraft gave the plane to a trade school to use as an instructional airframe with the promise that it would never fly again. Only the trade school reneged on the deal, sold the plane, and it has gone through several hands over the years, much to the chagrin of McDonnell which became McDonnell-Douglas, and is now part of Boeing.The 119/220 still has less than 500 hours total time.What is so great about the 119/220 is that it was a transport built by America’s preeminent builder of jet fighters. This thing is STRONG. For no reason that I can understand, it has the highest cabin pressure differential of any transport ever built (12 psi). That means it could easily fly at 50,000+ feet if it had the right engines.The 119/220 is powered with ancient Westinghouse J34 turbojet engines, which are incredibly heavy and use HUGE amounts of fuel, limiting range. The 119/220 wasn’t intended to use the J34s, but the engines it was originally designed for never reached production so the already-obsolete J34s were substituted.A design study could today pretty quickly determine what engines to replace the J34s. First-generation turbofans like the Garrett TFE-731s used in the Jetstar II would be a no-brainer and could inexpensively double the 119/220 from 2300-mile range to 4600 miles. Worked perfectly to transfer 2.5Gb of Whatsapp messages and media from a Samsung Galaxy S7 to an Iphone XR. I initially tried to use my Mac to do this, but the Samsung would not connect properly - no matter what driver (samsung or android I installed). This isn't an issue with the CocoDoc software, I think rather it was something to do with the security settings on my Mac. I then used my surface PC and instead installed the CocoDoc software there. Both the iPhone and the Samsung connected perfectly, first time. Firstly - the software cost $24.15 (US) - is it worth it? For me, yes, since I was transferring many Gb and mesages on my wife's phone, and she would have killed me if I didn't! I checked Whatsapp's forums and there is no official way to move between platforms (whatsapp, you suck for that!). I also spent 30 min on the line with Apple support, to check whether they knew any techniques becuase they obviously assist many users moving across from Andoid to iPhone. No luck. The bottom line was that after reading many reviews and searching the net, it came down to the Dr.Fone software or one or two others, with this software getting the better reviews. When doing the transfer, you have to pay very close attention to the instructions, because sometimes they are a little unclear, or refer to slightly older versions (but not ancient) of iOS.
