PDF Editor FAQ

Why are Raptors players and fans celebrating when they didn’t play Kevin Durant or a fully healthy Warriors team?

Allright, these kind of questions have been circulating and its time to answer them.First of all I am a Lebron James fan but I will try to answer this question honestly. Here goes…Lets take a look at warrior’s finals run or journey to the finals:GSW VS CavaliersWarriors faced the Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving less cavaliers, leaving lebron from the big3. even then cavaliers won two consecutive matches second and third.Hence warriors won their first chip in 40 years.2016 NBA finals:GSW VS CLEwe all know what happened in this historic year with Kyrie and Love back, the big3 made a historic comeback down 3–1 . P.S warriors themselves came back down 3–1 in Western finals agaisnt Durant led thunders.2017 NBA finals:warriors faced Leonard led spurs in the Western finals , spurs were upsetting the warriors in game 1 with Leonard and Alridge stepping up, past prime Manu Ginobli and Tony parker supporting too. Up by 22 Zaza “dirty” pachulia injured Kawhi Leonard ending his season, warriors came back from 22 point deficit and won the Western finals and the finals with Durant’s addition.2018 NBA Western Conference finals:GSW VS HOURockets up by 1 game, Chris Paul got injured and lost two consecutive games to loose the WCFs.2019 NBA finals:GSW VS TORNow Karma strikes, Warriors though the best team in the league for the past 5 years, consistently had to go through injury prone best players of the team to get to the finals. Nobody said anything about it then, even the sleepy GSW bandwagoners (sorry) cam alive with dub nation.Injuries are part of the game, yes GSW would’ve won after a tough fight with healthy durant and Klay. but they for once got the taste of their own medicine.Congrats to raptors on their win well deserved.Maybe it will be somewhile before we see another dynasty unless Anthony Davis joins the Lakers.XDEdit: Anthony Davis just joined lakers o_O

What impacts society more, people's political decisions or people's consumer decisions?

(I've added some detail at the end of this post instead of commenting on a comment on a comment. I hope this works in the context of the discussion.)I think it's a very simple win on the consumption side:Politics happens whether we participate or not. I suspect that most Americans put more thought into what toilet paper to buy than they do about who or what to vote for. Trim that down to "most Americans who vote" and the answer is more in the "which TV to buy" range of effort. And of course those purchasing decisions tie to politics. For instance, "Free Market" is a very attractive idea leading consumers to think that competition drives prices down. It may do so on a limited, temporary basis. Government justification of deregulation of critical services and products gave the actual result of purchases like gas, health care, and banking cost the consumer more in the long term. This is vastly simplified and totally hypothetical on my part.--- added material follows ---------In our society, market forces and politics are inextricably linked and getting more so.That should be a given in a republic where money equals speech. Republic as in -- in the early days of the USA, there were qualifications needed to vote: simply, "Male Landowners only."Citing another quora response on corporate voice in government: (What can be done to reduce the influence of big industries on government decisions?)"1. 1976: Buckley v. Valeo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buc... which finds that money is speech.) ""2. 2009: Citizens United v. FEC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cit...found that you cannot restrict independent union and corporate expenditures in support of or in opposition to candidates, and ""3. 2011: Arizona Free Enterprise Club’s Freedom Club PAC v. Bennett and McComish v. Bennett throws out many "clean election laws" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cle..."Occupy Wall Street is a perfect current example of market forces driving politics, where a portion of political consumers have engaged in political action as a direct result of capital driven influence over government. While OWS may not have any long-term impact directly, it certainly isn't the first such movement to come down the pike. Consider the Whiskey Rebellion as one that our young nation experienced, and the Crown's Tea Tax one that helped kick start our Revolution.Five years ago many of us were likely supportive of readily available, "cheap" ARMs, market derivatives, hedge funds, and the like. The entities pushing those "investments" didn't do much to dispel the underlying nature of such gambles. Those gambles were created through manipulation of government and popular opinion, I believe.Consumers were unlikely to take the long view that thinking in political terms tends to confer, instead they were seduced by unsustainably cheap credit, easy profits in hedge funds and the like. Even in the wake of the DotCom Bomb and the negative side-effects, such as gutted retirement funds, that followed.Add in tendency that Americans of the middle class to identify with the top 5%, and believe that they belong there than the more likely result of losing relative income. . . who vote against their interests to give more perks to corporations and the wealthy. (I won't go further into Social Darwinism and the misperceptions Americans tend to engage in, except to suggest that many seem to believe they're the wolves and not the sheep.)I don't have stats, but I suspect that Americans are slightly more inclined toward instant gratification and less toward thinking about the consequences of our purchasing than other nations are, but I think it's pretty clear that what we buy and how we produce it has political consequences that very, very few spend much if any time thinking about.

This is a very long list presented at a NALP conference in 2014. I didn't realize how much use I would make of this program, or the range of functions that it offers. I just got the free-version at first because I needed a digital signature. But now, as an academic, I find I use it all the time to share and to sign documents: now that everything is online and we have limited contact, this has become more important. I can't say that I've mastered or even noticed all the file features this program offers, but almost every time I use it I discover something new. Well worth the money!
