The form on page 25 has a slot for Mandatory ASVAB. Manadatory ASVAB testing is awarded 6 points compared to the 4 points awarded to a school that voluntarily tests juniors and/or seniors. Extensive use of publicity materials is encouraged. However, the Secretary of Defense (ASD (MRA&L)) has directed that all publicity materials on institutional testing published by the Armed Forces, including recruiting field activities, must contain the following statement: The ASVAB is used by the Armed Forces for recruiting purposes and by school counselors for vocational guidance counseling.
