Trip Permission: Fill & Download for Free

Sort of.I once had a student who was absent the day I gave out field trip permission slips, so I gave him his the next day. About ten seconds later, I collected the parent-signed forms from all of the students who got their permission slips the day before. As I checked them in later that day, his was in the pile, “signed” by his mother.He was so used to signing things for her that when he saw everyone else turning their slip in, he forged her signature and put his in the pile, forgetting that I literally just gave it to him.

First, you should know that high school students typically are either complaining or are unconscious. So I hear complaining literally every day, all day, without cessation.Some of those complaints are valid. It really is too cold in my room sometimes. The material really is pretty boring sometimes.But other complaints make me scratch my head.A few classics:Can I be switched out of this class Mr. C.? I just can’t listen to you any more.It’s too hard to remember to bring my stuff for your class every day! (my only requirements are paper and pencil)Can’t we just watch SpongeBob (or Bill Nye or Magic School Bus). Doing labs is too hard.Can’t we do more labs, Mr. C.? Doing problems is too boring.Can’t we do more problems, Mr. C.? Doing labs is too boring.Why do I even have to come to school? I have a good job already, Mr. C. I work at Walmart.Why do I have to take Physics? I want to be an engineer!Why do I have to take Chemistry? I want to be a doctor!Mr. / Mrs. / Ms. __________ is the worst teacher ever. He / She gave me an F!Why do I have an F, Mr. C.? I was HERE EVERY DAY!What did we do yesterday? (response: Check Google Classroom). Ugh Mr. C.! Why does everyone say that?Can you sign my field trip permission slip? (response: No, you’re not passing my class, so I need you to stay here). That’s so UNFAIR!!!Why did we both get F’s? We have the same answers!Why can’t this class just be on my phone?Can you please stop giving me assignments on my phone?!?!I’m so tired Mr. C.! (response: What time did you go to bed?) 2AM, but I had to talk to my friends!Why do you give us homework???Why don’t you give us more homework???Mr. C., do I have to write down everything you wrote (me, looks at board, sees that it says “Test Today”, responds “Yes”). REALLY?Mr. C., when do we get out of here? (response: Class started three minutes ago). I know. I’m so tired of this already!

When I was in twelfth grade, I had some extra room in my schedule so I decided I was going to take a second foreign language.I ended up in a ninth grade spanish class.I repeat: I, a senior, was in a spanish class full of freshmen.I was actually kind of surprised by how differently ninth grade classes run from twelfth grade classes. Things were a lot more strict since they were going to be taking a state exam in tenth grade. Homework was actually checked daily. The teacher made us put our phones in our backpacks and our backpacks in the back of the room for every quiz.One thing that stuck out was that we had to get our tests/quizzes signed by a parent after we got the grade back. A lot of teachers do this in elementary/middle school, or if the student gets a low grade. But this teacher did it for every test and every quiz.HOWEVER once you turn 18 in my school (and probably others too), you can sign your own stuff. This is usually for things like field trip permission slips.Once I turned 18, I was exempt from getting my quizzes signed, because I could sign it myself. I had an early birthday (December) so this meant I was able to flex for more than half of the school year.The teacher really didn’t like this though. I’m not entirely sure why. I remember the first time I did it, she was like, “try not to do this.” And I continued to do it for every quiz after.
