I didn’t know about SCP-682 before today, but google to the rescue!Anyways, comparing SCP-682 to Azathoth is like comparing, I don’t know, Donald Trump to the Milky Way?Azathoth is what we humans would call a god, one of those with no physical form, existing in the center of the universe. It’s even theorized that in Lovecraft’s Yogsothothery Mythos, our entire existance is in fact just one of Azathoth’s dreams and should he wake, our entire universe/dimension/existance would cease to exist.And then there’s the SCP-682, the “Hard-To-Destroy Reptile” of an unknown origin. The Shy Guy is nasty, but do you know what is nastier?You got it; SCP-682, the Very hard to kill reptile.In one of the attempts to finally rid the world of the menace that is “that bloody lizard”, 096 was released into 682’s cell.What happened was caught on sensors only due to the nature of Shy Guy’s abilities, but it was a legendary 27-hour battle. After a significant amount of screeching, roaring, and general wound-swapping, 096 stopped attacking and stood in a corner, covering its face and acting generally unhappy to be there. The log describes it better:Sonar-based video feeds reveal SCP-096 severely "wounded" and huddled in the southwest corner, apparently upset.682 wasn’t too impressed either. He lost 85% of his mass during the battle. No snarky comments this time, though, so I guess he learnt his lesson.Since the incident, 096 refuses to allow itself to be “activated” by 682, and turns away screeching. There’s no mention of 682 doing anything of note during this refusal to perform, so he obviously can’t quite protect himself from our Shy friend.Seeing as the two are capable of being within the same containment cell, I’d call that a successful interaction between 096 and another entity, although it’s a shame 682 survived… Again…
