Thanks for the A2AYou know I really have a problem answering this question:My personal interactions with SAPS have unfailingly been polite and helpful - from getting affidavits attested to accident reports, to petty crime etc. So I believe that the police I have met and interacted with are committed to their jobs, professional and caring.But then we have the higher echelon where politics/power enter into the equation - not impressed - seriously unimpressed!I am also fairly convinced that too many police members are (and always have been) corrupt.On a good day where there is no political or corrupt influence then I think SAPS is right up there (refer Oscar Pistorius case) with the best. And then I look at the “Hawks” trying to make a case against our Minister of Finance and I despair

I have recently finished reading the best selling and wonderful book “The President’s Keepers” by Jacques Pauw which does a wonderful job of detailing the extent of the decay in many of our executive institutions such as the South African Revenue Service and the South African Security Agency and Police.There is one story in the book however that has left me with a real feeling of disgust at our present leaders and I believe is a perfect illustration of the ineptitude and amorality leading us today.It is focused on the story of this man (an unsung hero in my opinion):This is Jeremy Veary, a cluster commander of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the head of the police anti- gang unit in the Western Cape. He helped bring down one of the most infamous murderers in our country George “Geweld” Thomas: then leader of the 28s gang. However I will focus on another operation that he established whilst a deputy commissioner, “Operation Impi”. This operation was put in place to sniff out corrupt cops who were supplying guns to gangsters in the Cape Flats that were killing innocent civilians. I will not go into detail as that would spoil the book but in essence a distribution network of guns meant for destruction by the police which were being stolen and illegally sold to gang leaders was found. Ultimately a Police Colonel, a local arms trader and a local business man were found to be at the heart of this network and were charged. After that success Mr Veary approached the police commissioner to extend the program in order to trace the remaining guns on the street.However Vearey was also the officer who dealt with the testimony of Vytie Mentor who stated in an affidavit that she had been called to the Gupta compound in Saxonworld, Johannesburg and was offered the job of Public Enterprises Minister, within the week, upon the conditions that she influenced the National Airliner to cancel its India route, in order to support a Gutpa airline. This proved to be the straw that broke the camels back for Mr Veary and resulted in his demotion and the subsequent standstill and destruction of “Operation Impi”.In testimony before the labour court to legally challenge his demotion he stated that the police were“consciously increasing the potential liability for unlawful negligent death and injury of members of the public caused by the stolen firearms”.The fact that our politicians would so selfishly act to protect their own greedy interests at the cost of the lives of many of our citizens by guns stolen from the police exposes the extent of the decay.After yet another death in the Cape Flats Mr Veary posted on his Facebook:“A gun is reborn in the murder of a child in the Cape Flats yesterday. It had been reincarnated several times before in the deaths of nameless others. But this rebirth was different. This gun was supposed to be dead. It was supposed to have been, in what in police parlance is called, ‘destructed’. It is this resurrection of the ‘destructed’ that reincarnated into deaths and injuries of those we now know whose lives were destroyed at its hand”To answer your second question we can never make any progress whatsoever whether economic or social whilst such people remain our leaders so we wait and hope for some kind of change either within the ANC or the electorate.

With respect but question it self seems anti nationalWhy did I say?If it was asked like” what will be the effect of NRC in India?xyz. it would be sounds like query!! but USING DEMOCRASY WORD you are pretending like government of India gonna do something “ undemocratic thing” I'm not blaming that you are anti national ideology but left party and congress always use this word DEMOCRASSY .Now get to your point what could be happen in small villages if they don't have proper paper ?Scenarios1 you don't have papers2 you don't have parents3 you don't have relatives (close relatives)4 you don't have relatives ( from parents ,from community, )5 above all 1 to 4 and you have psychological, mental or dangures physical deseasHow can you prove then?Indian get citizenship by parents who was /is both or one of them Indian at your born .If you have relatives its nothing to worry even you don't have parents ( if died) you can prove in court by small legle process. And then court will give notification in this situations.If you have parents alive then only you have to prove your parents natnality by your grand parents nationality which don't need certificates like birth school who born as I know until 1955 may be around.Still you can't get above all no parents grand parents proof then of course you living in india and born in India you must have relatives and friends and also they know your parents ,you can ask for help them to affidavits recognise your facts in front of court .then court serve notice of your relationship in case of dead parents then court will serve notice by proving your relations with your close relatives in rareest situations you might be asked to DNA test with relatives .in this situations court will serve “INDIAN DECENT” Certification upon DNA MATCHINGif you don't have relatives, community friends ,community relatives, then you will be in trouble means how can it be possible if someone is living in India from grandparents time can't prove any relation , j mean its benn 5 generations already have been born in India so if you can't prove then its quiet strange !!!!See NRC would be done for national security , if still you can't prove government might put some restriction , government don't send you in on other country , you might be declared refuge and then have to live 10 years as indian nateralizatin process and then after you become citizen of India . government will allow you to work rights . may take away other social benefits as “ refuge status “I know when rahul baba called saffron terrerism ,digvijay made of fun temple and rape remarks, kanahiya sought “ bharat tere tukade honge “ our intellectuals like amirkhan and all happy nobody say democrasy in dengour ,but if we protect our boundaries our people some people feels and worry about Democrasy.
