If its there, then your order will be filled with your Material (laptop) in Goods-issue. Once goods-issue is done then Sap logistics module gets intimation tht there is a order delivery before a particular date. Once deivery goes out, sap records that delivery transaction is done from a particular storage loction or warehouse by a particular driver from a particular gate. Once delivery is confirmed, your order is given over to finance teams. Finance teams uaing Sap fi(finance module) will post your order as revenue.If laptop is not there in stock after you placed your order, then situation is big. Once, stock check is done in sap wm (warehouse management module) and there is no stock available then it will intimate sap pp (production planning module) to make a laptop. This pp module is for production department. Once pp module gets a request to make a product, it will ask sap mm (material management module) to give all the raw materials needed for your laptop like complete nuts, bolts, ram, plastic casing, screen, processor etc.. If any of these raw materials are not vailable then sap MM person is suppose to get them immediately from vrious vendors. Normally, for a single bolt there will be thousands of vendors listed inside MM module and also raw material should pass quality checks by their machine or else mm module will reject the item automatically. So, Dell will buy ram from samsung, processor from Intel etc for your order. Once, all the raw materials are confirmed a production-receipt is generated to commence production. Once sap pp confirms the completion of making your laptop, Sap wm module will get notified as your laptop now avilable. When your laptop is available, the sales-order which was raised in sap sd module will get goods-issue done which means for your order laptop is kept aside. Sap logistics raises delivery-note saying your order is being delivered and as you know the remaining story is same as above pra again.So, what is SAP?? It is an enterprise resource software which can completely digitalise any particular business processes combining all the departments in an company like sales department, finance department, production department, inventory department, logistics department, etc in to a single server. By the wy, there are mny companies in this world and everyone's business process is not same. In some companies goods-issue is done automticlly while in other it is done once a month to all the sales-orders manually. In other scenario, one company completes finance transaction once delivery note is done accounting teams i. e, sap fi module records the transaction as revenue automatically while in other company all revenue posting is done once per month. All-in-all there are about 50± modules right now. It depends on DELL as customer to buy and use them or not. There is no rule that a particular module will land a job in Canada or USA. It all boils down to your skill and expertise along with the need of your project. If your USA-client wants you to be in USA even though you have just 2 years of exp, your company will sponsor your visa. Sometimes, even after having 5-8 years of experience your client might not be interested to have you onsite due to costs. So, you have to prove the skills and experience in the project. There is no rule that a person who has MBA in finance should pick only SAP fi (finance module), being an MBA you can choose any business functionl module unless you are good in basics. Being a technical person, you can choose various technical modules like abap, bw, abap+hr, hana etc..
