PDF Editor FAQ

Is it true that some unscrupulous mechanics will create a problem while inspecting a vehicle?

I did a vehicle inspection for the State police (I was a witness), we documented the car was fine, took pictures, checked fluids, etc. They drove it eight miles to a Nationally known brand store and had them do a state inspection for the vehicle. When they got notified the car had failed inspection due to the rubber boots on both axles being “torn”, the crap hit the fan. The tear in the boots was actually a square hole. The mechanic who inspected the car took a squared shanked screw driver and stuck it through both outer boots. That location lost their state inspection station license and the mechanic was charged.I have had people come to me saying they needed their brakes replaced and when I check, there is nothing wrong with them.So yes, their are some unscrupulous mechanics, there are incompetent mechanics, there are also some very honest mechanics. Find a repair shop you trust and stick with them.

How have you been treated badly because you have a service dog?

I walked into the automotive shop I have used to get my trucks inspected over the past 7 years with my SDT vested and calm at my side. I had noticed a sign on the door that said NO DOGS but didn’t think twice since we were a training team with a non profit company. The man told me to get out. I asked If I could wait outside while they inspected my truck. He told me no dogs of any kind because a ‘fake’ service dog had hurt one of his dogs. We argued about the legalities. I left and called the police. Nothing happened to them. I did post it on the Community Chat. Had over 1000 responses. Some people were hateful, made some new friends. I know that post cost that place business. Never got an apology. Now I have to drive 90 miles to get my vehicle inspected instead of only 35 miles.

How can the USPS make an arrest?

Because they have a US federal law enforcement agency as the enforcement branch — the USPIS (US Postal Inspection Service) that has Inspectors and a uniformed patrol division known as the US Postal Police that protects the mail facilities, post offices, and employees.Postal Inspectors are sworn federal law enforcement officers who carry firearms, make arrests and serve federal search warrants and subpoenas and conduct Mail/Wire Fraud investigations, and assist in the arrest and prosecution of Child Exploitation and Internet Sexual Predators cases, and various other federal crimes that fall under their authority including, of course, theft by employees and citizens of US Mail. This is a photo of a Postal Police vehicle (below)And, they have one of the premier law enforcement forensic labs in the world. The USPS Forensic Laboratory was established in 1940 and is located in Dulles, Virginia. The lab is staffed by forensic scientists and technical experts and consists of four units: the Questioned Documents Unit, the Fingerprint Unit, the Physical Sciences Unit, and the Digital Evidence Unit. And, this is how the Inspectors of the USPIS of the USPS investigate and arrest people.Update: Because a few have asked about it’s origin, I inadvertently left this important fact out.
