The correct way is to support the lens by cupping your hand underneath it,usually done with the left hand while your right hand grips the body of the camera. This helps to prevent camera stagger. Gripping your Camera on either side may yield blurry photos due to no support to the lens. To get an even balanced posture, swaddle your elbows into side part of the body.Wrong Way to hold a Camera - A Strict NoRight way to Hold a Camera2) Get in close to well suited proximityIf your photographs aren't good enough, you’re not close enough.If your images aren't as striking as they should be, take a step or two closer to your subject. Fill the frame with your subject. The closer you are to the subject, the better you can see their facial expressions too.Each time you spot a subject, snap a shot and then move in closer for a better shot. Having your subject at an appropriate proximity can pull off a stunning snap.Keep moving in closer until you ensure that the snap will capture the literal expressions of your subject.3) Analyze the amount of light in the sceneBefore you even think to click , see where the light is coming from & adjust accordingly in order to use it to your advantage. Whether it is natural light or an artificial source ; how can you use it to make your photos better? How is the light interacting with the scenery and the subject? It helps in capturing the spontaneity of the subject which cannot be achieved by simply saying “smile”.5) Explore your camera’s user manualMost of the people miss this really important yet basic step on their photographic expedition. Every camera is different, Hence by reading the manual you’ll get to know all the distinct things you can pull off with your gear. Reading the user manual makes you aware of the capacity of the Camera which in turn can help you anticipate perfect settings/effects in different situations.6) Shoot every Day (at least once every week)The best way to enhance your skills is to practice. A lot. Shoot as much as you can – it doesn’t really matter what Camera you have in the beginning. Spend all your free hours behind your camera capturing your widest imaginations. By looking at the work of the masters, not only do you get inspired, you come up with ideas to improve your own perspective for photography & your imaginations.9) Learn to shoot Quickly - Be On your Toes - Ready to click anytimePossibly your subject may move, bolt, fly away, stop smiling, or just get tired of waiting for you to take the picture, shoot once right away.Practice getting quicker and quicker to the photo finish not worry about taking too many pictures and do not wait until you're absolutely certain all the knobs and buttons are in their correct position.One of t-shirts one liner states, "Shoot First, Ask Questions Later."10) Rule of ThirdsRule of Thirds is one such rule on which almost every photographer can unanimously agree. Imagine and draw two horizontal and two vertical lines on the frame in such a way that it divides the frame on nine equal segments. The rule of thirds says that you should position the key element or the main subjects in your scene along these lines, or at the points where they intersect. One the most commonly asked question in photography and the least attended one. Well it depends on what you are shooting. That’s the reason why Professional photographers pay proper attention to this area. Amateur shooters usually miss great shots because they experiment with everything but with the orientation of their camera.The frame of the camera is by default horizontal just like our regular vision and that’s one of the reason why most beginners fail to perceive the vertical option. One can try both but the general rule of thumb is that the orientation of the frame must justify with the shape of the subject.For example, while shooting landscapes we should keep it horizontal most of the time, as the horizon in landscapes traces a horizontal line.For the subjects like trees, buildings and skyscrapers that are built vertically and trace line perpendicular to the horizon we should keep our frame vertical as well.12) Symmetry & PatternsOne of the most powerful techniques of composition is Symmetry and Pattern. The human eye naturally picks up on patterns, and we are drawn to explore them.Symmetry is using visual equivalence among elements. The effective exploitation of symmetry and pattern can make for an extremely powerful shot, particularly when working with subjects such as architecture , linear shadows , skyscrapers , landscapes , ceiling patterns , heritage places etc. Take time to observe the subject and recognize patterns(using the shapes and lines). Find the midpoint and be careful to set up the camera so it is square to the subject. almost a hard question but you can have some rough ideas …depending on the kind of job, clients’ special requests, total amount of time to be spent on the photography assignment and other factors such as unpredictable costs etc, would a freelance photographer work for less than the current minimum wage that's approved by the local low where s/he actively resides and works regularly?not so curiously though, sometimes some photographers (newbies in particular) may accept free or very low-wage photography orders, depending on the situation; especially when they’re trying to promote their work …one thing is clear though: famous and legendary photographers charging tens of thousands of dollars for a single photography session are becoming hard to find these days as there are many hands in the business now and the competition is too tight and many clients, not quite knowingly, may eventually go with an inexperienced photographer holding a smartphone instead of a real camera charging anything from 0$ to a few bucks! :-)
