Moorish Sovereign Citizens is a “movement” described by the Southern Poverty Law Centre as:Moorish sovereign citizens espouse an antigovernment doctrine in which its members claim to be part of a sovereign nation. For some who identify themselves as “Moor,” “Moorish” or something similar, there is a belief that a 1787 treaty (fictitious) between the United States and Morocco grants them immunity from U.S. law. Others, such as the Washitaw Nation, may falsely claim to occupy United Nations Indigenous People’s Seat 215 — there is no such thing — and create their own birth certificates, passports, driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations.Moorish sovereigns believe their status as members of a sovereign nation imparts immunity from federal, state and local authorities. They use this perceived immunity to justify refusing to pay taxes, buy auto insurance, register their vehicles and to defraud banks and other lending institutions. Many Moorish sovereigns also profit by selling bogus registration, licensing and insurance documents on websites promoting Moorish sovereign beliefs and doctrines. In several instances, this belief in immunity from legal authority has led some Moorish sovereigns to initiate violent confrontations with law enforcement.For those who will start to try and argue with me that there is some legal basis for this movement, have at it. Located off the coast of Northwestern Africa, it’s a pot pourri of Spanish culture mingled with the culture of other settlers. PortugalMEU FAVORITO, PORTUGAL!Sara, and I recently fell in love with a beautiful city. Yes, you guessed it right! We fell in love with the majestic capital of Portugal, Lisbon!Let me tell you why we are so fond of this city, and I am sure that once you read this article, you’ll really want to see it.I highly recommend early fall as a great time to travel to Southern Europe. You’re spared of the hot and sultry weather that July and August are characterized by, and while it is balmy, it is still pleasant enough to walk in your summer clothes, and flip flops. Every day is a beautiful 25–29 degree C, and you can enjoy the feeling of being sunkissed.Central Lisbon is a beautiful mix of a begone area interspersed with moderism, one of the reasons I adore this city.Image credit: Erasmus | Erasmusu.comOn your first day in Lisbon, I highly recommend seeing the Sao Jorge castle, Belem tower, and doing a sailing cruise off the Tagus river.Sintra is just half an hour by Uber from Central Lisbon!Let me get into a little detail into this gem. Sintra is a resort town in the foothills of Portugal’s Sintra Mountains, near the capital, Lisbon. A longtime royal sanctuary, its forested terrain is studded with pastel-colored villas and palaces. The Moorish- and Manueline-style Sintra National Palace is distinguished by dramatic twin chimneys and elaborate tilework. The hilltop 19th-century Pena National Palace is known for a whimsical design and sweeping views. This is how beautiful it looks!My sister was rather thrilled to see Cabo Da Roca. Actually not just thrilled. Really really excited. She had mentioned to me that it is the western most tip of mainland Europe, and that it is a must see. We had only 3 days in Europe, and for some reason I assumed it quite far off from Lisbon, but I couldn’t be more wrong. Cabo Da Roca is just 15 minutes by Uber from Sintra! What I suggest is you take an uber from Sintra and request the driver to take you to Cabo Da Roca, wait for 15 minutes while you see it and collect your certificate (of being there), and then drop you back to your hotel. Cabo means Cape. Cabo da Roca essentially is a beautiful cape with a lighthouse and the western most tip of mainland Europe. This is how it looks like.Now if you have a sweet tooth, then I highly recommend the Portuguese coconut custard tarts. I had it in Lisbon, and then on my flight to Porto courtesy Tap air. This is how they look like, and they melt in your mouth.Credit: PinterestIn addition to the above, people in Lisbon are some of the warmest people you will ever meet. From helping you with directions, to generally chatting with you, to complimenting you, to assisting you with whatever you need, they are some of the nicest people around.Oh, and special mention to one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in, in terms of rooms, cleanliness, and CUSTOMER SERVICE.Iberostar Lisboa.No, I haven’t been paid by this hotel to do this post. I am recommending it like because they have been so amazing to us. Right from going out and getting us tabasco at the last minute, to carrying our luggage, to giving us mineral water bottles within a minute, to always greeting us with their smiling faces, they did it all.Oh, and their rooms looked like this.Thank you, Iberostar Lisboa.I also love their ‘Sensations spa’. In addition to looking sparkly clean, and gorgeously decorated, their therapists are fabulous. I got their Aromatherapy massage done whic lasts for 45 minutes, and came out feeling like a million bucks. This racial obsession is an interesting American trait.Let’s look this matter from an European POV, as - excluding the First Nations - every American is a descendant of someone who emigrated to NA (mainly from Europe).If you are an European, no matter what nation you come from, you know (because of school, higher education and common sense) that your continent has been the theatre of a lot of wars, invasions, migrations and empires rising and falling. So, before and after the delusional master race dream of Nazi Germany, noone in Europe ever thought as “races” exception made from a handful of “scholars” in the late XIX and early XX century that tried to define the various ethnicities of Europe as “races”.In America the idea of “race” is at the same time simplistic and overcomplicated.They define people’s race by simply observing the skin tone and, at the same time, they do complex elucubrations on someone’s descent to tell how much they are “white”.Like if there was a ranking of “races” so you do want to be part of the top entries.Just look at the diligence with which someone specifies his descent.All of this is nonsense.I’ll bring this example: in the Middle Ages, the Normans (sort of Vikings) invaded Southern Italy on behalf of the Pope, because those land were ruled by foreign Moorish (Muslim) lords and the Pope needed Christian armed forces he did not have to get rid of the arabic invaders. The Normans answered the call. With their armies they conquered southern Italy and the Pope gave them lordship of these lands. Being a Viking, used to harsh cold climate and almost no agriculture, to rule the warm and fertile southern tip of Italy was like being in heaven.They of course spread their genes to the lower layers of the population.Today, 1000 years after those events, you can find Southern Italians that are more “white” than the average American: Blond hair, blue eyes, pale skin and high complexion. You’d say this is a pure-blood Swede until they open their mouth and they say the most classical of : “It’s-a me, Mario! Mamma mia!”.They are 100% Southern Italians, with all their perks and flaws, yet somewhere in their DNA there are info speaking of fjords, longboats, and Aurora borealis. In the same way they have Moorish, Greek, Phoenician, Roman, Aragonese blood running in their veins.Now I am pretty sure that if you have a noisy and messy Southern Italian descent neighbour, back in USA, (the stereotypical one: curly black hair, dark skin tone and brown eyes) and replace him with the blond guy I described before, you won’t notice any difference in habits and sound volume.Races are an obsession to people like the Americans (or Hitler, that was Austrian - not German - , and with dark hair) that are unsure of themselves and need a “certificate” of descent in order to feel ok, to be part of something bigger, to be sure they are of the “right portion of humanity”.I am sorry for you, but the answers you seek are indeed inside of you, but not in your DNA.Peace.
