PDF Editor FAQ
What would happen if someone cleared the IES, but proved to be unsuitable on the medical test?
Thanks for A2A dear!Usually this question starts troubling us as soon as we clear ESE till medical status are announced.Well, initially medical examination is done at railway hospitals in different zones. As per my knowledge, no one gets disqualified in medical examination, only allotment to some services can be restricted. So….If anyone gets medically unfit for any particuler service e.g. IRSE,IRSS he can appeal for re-exam in AMB i.e. appellate medical board. For some services, there are set parameters that need to be qualified. General tests that are done are as follows:I have put some excerpts of ESE-16 Civil Engg medical status below:So my suggestion is, as soon as u get medical exam schedule, get check up done at any Pvt hospital( for obvious reasons..) and make sure u don't get any surprises in ur medical status!
How does the railways recruitment process work after you've written the UPSC ESE examination (considering the results as the initial point)?
Day 0: UPSC Results announced.Day 10 to Day 14: Medical test schedule for qualified candidates is released. After 1 month of Result: Preferences for service allocation provided by qualified candidates is released.Within 1–2 months of Result: Medical Test carried out at various Central Railway Hospitals for the qualified candidates. After 6 months of Result: Medical Status of candidates is published. After 7 months of Result: Medical Status of candidates who were unfit in first medical test and later appealed for Appellate Medical Board (AMB) is released. After 1 week of AMB Result: Final Service Allocation of candidates based on medical board results and vacancy available is published. After 2nd week of AMB Result: Offer of Appointment from various Railway services is released and sent to home via speed post. After 8 months of the ESE Result: Reporting at the respective CTI to join the allotted service.Note: The timeline here is mentioned as per the UPSC ESE-2016 results, medical test and joining. This may vary from year to year and the typical timeline from the date of result to joining in service may be around 8–14 months.
Which are the interview months and joining month, approx, for a successful IES candidate?
