You would think that, after USS Voyager got home, they would have taken Seven of Nine and begged her to help them kick start a new propulsion lab to study Borg transwarp and Species 116 Quantum Slipstream technology.But from what we saw twenty years later in Star Trek Picard … apparently not. Borg technology always self destructs if the ship is destroyed, as we saw in Dark Frontier, so it is hard for the Federation to get their hands on samples but as we saw in Omega Directive:Harry: Is there anything you don't know?Seven : I was Borg.Harry: "I was Borg!" That's what you always say, but what does it mean? You have the knowledge of 10,000 species in your head?Seven: Not exactly. Each drone's experiences are processed by the Collective. Only useful information is retained.Harry: Still, that probably makes you the most intelligent human being alive.Seven: Probably.I would think that Borg transwarp technology would be one of those things. I can believe that Voyager did not have the resources to build transwarp from scratch (although they managed to do that for Quantum Slipstream and they had very little knowledge of that except for a few days studying the fake USS Dauntless) but once they got back to UFP, there’s no excuse for not asking Seven to help, and I can’t imagine why she would refuse. Maybe she was just worried it would increase Borg interest in conquering the Alpha Quadrant.There are still Borg transwarp conduits in the Alpha Quadrant, we saw people using one in Star Trek Picard so either those are connected to the other five hubs or the Borg rebuilt the sixth one after Voyager destroyed it.
