PDF Editor FAQ

How should I register a Merle French Bulldog puppy on the AKC website?

In a normal situation, you would have received paperwork from the breeder where they registered the litter, and you would have then transferred the registration of the puppy under you. However, the AKC disqualifies merles along with certain other colors and patterns. Breeding merles can introduce certain genetic disorders. I couldn’t find any color codes for the AKC for registering a merle in my search. The second link below is directly from the AKC with the codes for Frenchies.https://images.akc.org/pdf/breeds/standards/French_Bulldog-6-18.pdfAmerican Kennel Club - Color and Markings

How do I transfer the ownership of a dog in California?

If your dog is registered with AKC, you can get a form from their website and follow the instructions listed on it. If not registered with AKC, I would check into the California laws regarding sale of animals.

When a dog fully registered as a puppy is sold to a buyer, may the new owner show the dog and register its future puppies as long as no contract was signed forbidding it? Or must the breeder transfer the AKC registration to the new owner's name first

The dog must be registered with FULL registration and YOU must be listed as the owner of that dog. If not, then any litters of pups from this dog will not be eligible for registration via AKC. If the dog is registered in your name and it is a full registration vs a limited registration, then the litters will be eligible for registration provided both parents are registered with full registration rights. If the dog is registered in your name and it is a limited registration, then the litters are not eligible.Responsible breeders do the limited registration to try to limit the backyard breeding of dogs deemed not high enough quality to be considered breeding stock. It’s a good policy. I always buy my dogs with limited registration (although the current dog came with full registration accidentally, I will be neutering him at around 18 months or so). I am not a breeder, don’t have the expertise, knowledge or time to do breeding the right/responsible way. So I choose to leave that to those that do have the expertise, that do the proper health testing, that title their dogs to show they have good minds and that know what lines would be good matches. Then I buy my puppy from them.

People Trust Us

CocoDoc has been a major solution for our platform, namely SalesForce. The integration is great and allows our clients the ability to instantly sign documents and allows our agents to close cases in a timely manner. Prior to CocoDoc it was tedious to scan, print, send etc. and our backlog was required a team of members working just on documents and signatures alone. With CocoDoc one agent can handle the task saving a small fortune in employment. There's no special training needed to use it, and we can send it within SalesForce and be done. Awesome platform and I was glad to see I could review this product.
