Perfect combination. F6 is broaaaaad. So many exceptions and blah blah blah to remember. F8 and F7 are like non identical twins. You put in place controls, you audit financial records and then you publish financial statements. F5 and f9 are also similar. Lots of related formulas and similar processes of problem solving. Chuck your BPP textbook in the bin and go back to the source.If you are the type to learn better when you know why you are doing something, then all the more you need to go back to the source.Read and reread your standards. For F8, the standards are the ISA, ISAE and relevant parts of the ACCA's Rulebook (ethics and practice management) as the case may be. You would likely find these source materials easier to read and understand than say, BPP textbook.You would kill three birds with one stone with this method: It prepares you for both F8 and P7, and best of all, it'll prepare you to deal with the real working environment, where you will be expected to know and justify the audit procedures you undertake when auditing financial statements assertions on the basis of the standards. You simply can't convince your senior or manager or partner to go your way by showing them excerpts from the BPP textbook.The BPP textbook I have used tend to overemphasise the hows (e.g. by describing the many possible ways to audit trade receivables). The danger is that you might become overwhelmed with those details that you end up trying to memorise procedures, rather than understand why you are doing them. These procedures won't be fully imitable especially when the examiner gets creative in setting scenario type questions.I took about 36 hours to read through the standards. I don't think I could have done the same with the BPP textbook.Then start practicing questions.Time yourself.Reread the standards.Practice more questions.Get 80+ for F8.
