DIE.If you ever see a mom or a dad scream the word “die” at their children, there are 2 possibilities:They are psychopaths and you should call the police.They are Israeli.In Hebrew, the word “die” means stop, and its a word that parents in Israel use a lot.When I was little and went abroad with my family and my mom would scream “DIE!” (די!) at us for doing something stupid, I could see people give confused and scared looks from time to time, it was really funny.EDIT:Okay, so apparently the word “die” is pretty common in a lot of languages.good to know :D

Loving your partner more than you love yourself.Why its the dark side? because when you go over that line, when you truly love your partner more than you love yourself, your gonna be broken, lost and question everything in your life when they are gone(which will inevitably happen someday).That’s where i am right now, 3 months after the break-up.We were together for 2 years, we went through so much together, we had such an amazing connection that i never believed will cease to exist…also our love story was practically from a movie and i guess because it felt so movie like, i was sure its gonna have an happy ending.I’ll make the story short - i was traveling in japan after the army(im from Israel) and i met her there, we started dating, i decided to make my stay in japan longer to see if what we had was worth holding on too, we lived together in her parents place for more than a month and when it was time to leave - we both said “i love you more than anything” (we literally said that haha, living together for more than a month and being with each other non-stop almost 24/7 we thought that we really had a chance to know that).And so started 6 months of long distance relationship, where we skyped every single day for at least an hour and sent each other boxes of gifts(i sent her 6, she sent me 1 lol)I became a student and she just graduated. she came to visit me in israel after those 6 months and during her stay she decided to stay here and found a job, did ‘aliya’ and lived in Tel - Aviv.After another year+ some problems started, we started having fights and had some more problems here and there. she flew to Berlin to see a friend that just got engaged.I picked her up from the airport, we went home, watched an episode of mr.robot, she fell asleep and i caressed and hugged her. i later went to the room to study, and she came to bed at around 23:30, looked at me and started crying. she told me she wants to break up.In my whole 24 years of living, that was the most SHOCKING thing that ever happened to me. she literally gave up on us, on me, and even with the problems we had i couldn't understand how she could end us…What’s funny is that all through the relationship she told me she would never be able to be with or think about another guy the way she had about me since i was too perfect for her…I haven't seen her face or heard her voice since, she was cold every time we texted, and so was i.Its OK that relationships don’t work, it happens, to almost everyone at some point in life, but i really loved her more than i loved myself, i really believed in us and in what we had, all i wanted was to make her happy. she was the reason for every single thing i did in life - and that was the problem.That was my problem, everything you do should be first of all for you, then for the person you love.Now, that shes gone, it feels like something inside me is missing, im lost, i lost almost all my motivation to do anything in life and im trying to recollect myself.She comes to my mind all the time and nothing seems to help, there are so much memories, and i dream about her every night.Im trying to be strong, and i cant wait for that point in the future where ill be reading this answer and smiling, knowing that i moved on and found someone better, that i’ll love almost as much as i love myself…edit:thanks so much to everyone who commented and shared their stories too! <3
