Not particularly me, more like our family.My mother was in a motorcycle accident in 2011, and at that time we were sort of short on cash. If they were 6 times stronger than humans then they could lift 3,000 lbs, flip cars, and do other things that no one has ever seen a Chimpanzee do.One study, Bauman (1923; 1926) claimed Chimpanzees were 8 times stronger than humans. The methodology in this was extremely flawed however. The researcher basically just threw strength testing equipment to chimps and let them destroy it, while on the other hand, human subjects performed the task with instructions.Fitch (1943) conducted a controlled experiment where humans and Chimpanzees did the same task. To test as to whether or not the Chimps were trying, he denied them food for 24 hours and had them repeat the task. He could not do this with the human subjects (probably for IRB reasons) and just had to believe the human subjects when they said they gave it their all.Humans and Chimps pulled weights, aided by this device. The human participants were students and staff of the Yale Laboratory.One human subject was still stronger than any of the Chimpanzees. Human males tended to also be much stronger (up to 43%) than female Chimpanzees:The strength to body weight ratio of Chimpanzees was still about twice as much as humans, but humans weigh twice as much as Chimpanzees on average so we are about the same.A more recent study by Scholz et al., (2006), this time on Bonobos, showed that Bonobos were about 30% stronger than Olympic Athletes in a jumping height to weight test.
