How do I improve my math for SSC CGL 2018?

A2AYou have atleast 3 months to prepare for CGL18… I don't see prelim happening before September…4 months are enough to score 160 around… Since you have asked about maths, I will talk specifically about Maths.MATHS has three sections for prelim (weightage wise)…Arithmetic and Advance…plus 5 DI questionsNow , Arithmetic is where you must be fast and accurate.. almost each chapter is about digits.. you have to multiply, divide etc etc.. the core concepts are not much… Biggest advantage is, you don't need tricks if you are fast… Drawback is, not everyone possess speed… So check what you lack… If you are struggling with basics, then use Kiran.. it will tell you the simple/school methods for solving a question.. or NCERT books since you got time… Once you are good with concepts then go for Rakesh yadav class notes… by basics I mean what is profit, how to find it and all… We are familiar with it so it won't take much time… So arithmetic is not hard to deal with… first learn basics and then learn tricks… So that if you got speed then tricks won't trouble you much and if you don't have speed then tricks will help you.. ( but remember, sometimes tricks may desert you like this year's mains…So learn basics at any cost)ADVANCE maths… This is where you take a lead… for Advance maths books will not help much… Reason is question can be made by just drawing two lines… So focus on developing your own methods… do as many questions as you can… The more you practice, the better it is… It's not about speed, it's not about concept… Here only how you can understand the question and start solving it, matters… so take up NCERT books or Kiran… You can learn trigonometry and geometry from these books… For algebra, Rakesh yadav notes are great… For mensuration, you need to remember 4–5 formula only… Mensuration is about using basic maths…So don't worry about books and concepts…go for tests…as many as possible…Last thing, start the maths section with DI.. if it seems easy calculation then go for it, get yourself 10 marks in 4–5 minutes…(PS: I have not read any book apart from Rakesh yadav notes and they are really good. I am old school type so I didn't prefer YouTube… So my suggestion above, is based on assumption that ones basics are okay.. I mean the school methods of solving basic questions.. I will also suggest to use good test series like ssctube or qmaths or gradeup… I used an easy test series so it didn't help much… Take atleast 15 sectional test of maths and 30 full length tests for pre… Test is more important than books… I didn't give more than 4–5 tests so ended up with 134… arpund 15 tests of maths helped me get 150 around in tier 2 maths.. so Don't make that mistake of not taking good amount of quality tests like I did… )All the best…!!…

What is the difference between an instruction and a directive in assembly language?

An instruction is a task to be carried out by the processor at run time. Instructions are assembled into machine code and eventually linked into the final executable.A directive is an instruction to the assembler telling it how to treat the data it is asked to assemble. Directives are only used at assembly time and although they may affect the way the code is generated, they don’t result in any code generation themselves. For example, in this snippet of Z80 code, the ORG statements are directives. They don’t result in any code generation themselves, but they affect the address that the next instruction is located at.Left to right: Quora generated line number, assembler generated line number, address of the instruction in memory (if any), opcode (if any), statement. The tick next to an address indicates it’s a relocatable address that may be altered by the linker at link time. Pay no attention to the text colors - that’s just Quora’s code formatter trying to make sense of something it doesn’t understand.125 ORG 00000H  126   127 0000' F3 START: DI ;Disable the interrupt  128 0001' C3 010A' JP BEGIN  129   130 org 08h ; restarts  131 0008' C9 ret  132   133 org 10h  134 0010' C9 ret  135   136 org 18h  137 0018' C9 ret

Is it possible to score 170+ in SSC CGL tier 1 in first attempt?

A2AOfcourse it's possible… But really difficult… We have 4 months to prepare for it… remember that tier 1 is the most important tier in CGL exam. i have emphasized on that in previous answers as well. So a score of 160+ means a desired post (unless you screw up in tier 2).Let's break down 170 in four sections…50+50+45+25… if one can get 30 or 30+ in GK then 170 is achievable…For getting 170+ it's most needed that you get 100/100 in maths and reasoning. English 40+ and GK 30.Now for maths, getting 50 in prelim isn't that difficult. You need speed and accuracy. Tier 1 don't challenge concepts much. So in next 2 months finish textbooks. In last two months, revision and tests will help. Strategy is simple, to get 50 you gotta solve 25 correctly. Simple!.. save 25-30 minutes for this section when you take test and start with DI, if it's easy (calculation) then rush and secure 10 marks within 5 minutes. For reasoning, just take tests. Anything can be asked. Clock calender, anything. So take reasoning tests on adda247 for next two three months. That will be enough. 50 can be scored in 20 minutes.English, this is where you have to excel. Scoring 40–42 is easy. You need to get 45–46 marks. That means you will have to attempt atleast 23 questions. There will be 2–3 vocab questions. So don't prepare vocab, don't waste your time. Tests will be enough for vocab. Important is Error, cloze, sentence improvement. These three sections are where you have to get full marks. So get a book named MB publication and start solving tier 2 papers of English. (Voice, narration etc can be asked in prelim so directly jump on tier 2 papers, I did the same..)GK, scoring 30 in gk is perhaps the most difficult thing to do in CGL, for guys like me.I scored only 4 marks even though I prepared for 4–5 days (4*2=8 hours in total) yet I couldn't score 10+ marks. I did wrong attempts so I ended up on 4. But now after attempting 2 live mocks every Sunday, I am finally getting 15-20 around marks. Will start studyimg GK soon. The point is, read it as much as you can. Lucent will be a good book. But I always prefer mocks over books since I attempted tier 1 in 2017. So read, reread, take mocks, and manage anything above 25.A score of 160+ will be great.(PS: I have scored 134 (46+46+38+4) in pre and around 320 in mains.(150+170). I took 4–5 mocks for pre and hence screwed in reasoning and GK, since I preferred sectional tests of maths and tier 2 sets of English. Don't do this mistake of not taking mocks and never ignore GK. With a score of 150+ I would be at 470 today. So never take reasoning lightly and never ignore GK. )I repeat, tier 1 is most important tier in CGL. 160+ is more important than 320 in tier 2.Good luck!…

I see no pros with this product I hated it. I attempted to use it but it would not allow me to use the trial and went straight to wanting the monthly fee. I signed up for the monthly acrobat instead.
