I suppose the Surgical Strike clips you are talking about is from History TV18 Documentary on 2016 Surgical Strikes :Truly saying , these gear are quite modest by global standards. They are using 1960s-era Israeli OR-201 Kevlar Helmets with OFB PNVG 102A Night Vision Goggles. This is pretty below par to what they possess currently and what they actually used during 2016 Strikes. Such type of shows are just made for moral boosters and what they exhibit in such shows is just tip of the iceberg as they are quite secretive in their exhibits and capabilities.Coming onto Kashmir , they use Patka helmets for one prime reason : Patka is more suited for CI/CT Operations than MKU Mukut Helmets ( which Para SF and most of the Indian Army/CAPFs are using now ). Patka can take frontal hits from AK-47 7.62x39mm rounds and still survive at close ranges though MKU helmets are not well capable against AK-rounds in this aspect. MKU can only take 9mm Carbine rounds at close ranges. The one advantage of MKU helmet is that it has 360 degree protection and has got trauma pads so well can absorb shock and trauma after being hit.During Kashmir encounters , Para SF guy uses modest gear which includes their standard rifle ( TAR-21 or M4A1, even a modified AK would do ) , a sidearm ( Jerincho 941 or a Browning Hi-Power serves great ) , a ballistic helmet ( or a Patka ) and their Standard issue vest as their mission kit :Heavy Combat Gear is avoided at best as it limits their combat maneuvers and makes them prone to hits and flanks by hostiles. Indian Special Operations Units or better term it as “Commando” unit ( though there is a wide difference between the two ) are regarded as one of the best in their business with an excellent reputation all over the world , including their enemies , and are known for their professionalism , experience in a wide grid of jobs and competence which marks them one of the best. Now since the question asks which can be considered the most elite , secretive and well trained Special Operations Unit in India , then the unit which comes into my mind is the Special Group or 4 VIKAS.Special Group Operatives at LoC armed with STAR-21 with Trijicon ACOG and PM Md.63 with GP-25 Under Barrel Grenade Launcher.Raised in 1977 by Major General VK Sharma of 9 PARA SF , it was conceived as a “Special Operations Forces” and a Tier 1 Unit of India to deal with Hostage Rescue , Room Intervention , Clandestine Jobs , Special Reconnaissance and Close Protection. Special Group single handedly preceded the role of National Security Guard and Special Protection Group , as it took up the mantle of these jobs before they were relieved in those jobs after NSG and SPG were formed.The unit was well interestingly , sandwiched with the regular Special Frontier Forces Battalions known as “Vikas” to keep the secrecy of the unit intact and to fool the enemy of the presence of such a unit in the folds of SFF. The first Commanding Officer of Special Group was Colonel Bali of 9 PARA SF , and were based at Saraswa where in the initial years , Special Group carried out exercises and training with Army Special Forces and were later deployed to Israel for joint exercises with Mossad and Sayaret Matakal.Special Group Operator with SCAR-H 7.62x51mm Battle Rifle.PARA SF actually parented the Special Group , as in initial years officers and jawans from primary Army Special Forces Units were sent to depute in Special Group for a specified period of time ( Officers serve 2 years while Jawans serve 3 Years ). This led Special Group to take in men from other Battalions like Signals and Airborne Unit to keep up with the depleting numbers.SG comprises of a Intelligence and Planning Wing , Training Wing and also a Signal Troop as a support base to its operations. Soldiers and Officers alike undergo the toughest military probation test where their Intelligence Gathering Skill and Physical Endurance is put to test. SG Operators are highly qualified in High Altitude Warfare , Amphibious Roles and Airborne duties with each troop dedicated to such roles. They are also trained in Jungle Warfare and Unarmed Combat and are the apex predators and warfighters of India.Special Group Operator with Khukri and Dual-Mag AKMSSG is answerable only to PMO and Cabinet Secretariat and is commanded by a Director General Securit. Special Group operates with a plausible clause of deniability and in a surreptitious manner which makes it a step ahead of other Indian Special Operations Unit. Special Group Missions and Achievements are never publicized out in the open keeping in mind the secrecy of the unit.SG has got more than 25 different weapons in its arsenal which includes FN SCAR L/H , F2000 , P90 , MP-5 , AKMS , Tavors , SIG-716 , Five-Seven Pistol , Jerincho 941 Pistol , Negev LMG , M16/M4 , Barrett M95 and more. The weapons profile is chosen as per the requirements and role. They source most of their weapons from Black Market with no company markings so that their secrecy is kept intact. Special Group also sources in other required gear and equipments from foreign suppliers and they have undoubtedly the best available gear for any Special Operations Unit in India.Special Group CQB Operators with P90TR with Miniature Reflex Sights and Wall Penetrating Radar.SG has been involved in every war spectrum where India has been deployed since it was formed in late 1970s. It provided Close protection to Prime Minister in 1980s , took part in Indian Intervention in Sri Lankan Civil War , CIT/X and CIT/J in Punjab and Pakistan , were deployed for CI/CT Ops in Kahmir , Kargil Conflict , Operation Rakshak and even the ongoing Operation All-Out. They were also deployed to foreign countries like Afghanistan where they teamed up with Northern Alliance to fight Taliban.Special Group Operators at their LoC Base.Special Group , is undoubtedly the best Special Operations Capable Unit in India with a wider mandate , and under a Smaller chain of command with greater flexbility in operations keeping a smaller footprint at the same time. A thick veil surrounds the operations conducted by Special Group and are kept outside the Army Orbat to maintain its secrecy. However they should not be ultimately considered to be better than PARA SF/MARCOS since SG was raised for a particular niche of job which was taken up by other forces and hence SG has shifted to other roles like Intelligence Gathering and Covert Actions. Para SF can conduct similar operations as SG though the vice versa can’t be held true as SG’s Operational Mandate is quite different. Participants were invited to undergo three screenings (T0, T1, and T2) at 1-year intervals.941 (572 per 100,000 person-years) in the CXR group was diagnosed with lung cancer, but only 279 cancers were diagnosed after a positive screening test. And, the false positive rate in the CXR group was 94.5%.
