How do I correctly claim unemployment benefits in the state of Georgia? I am so confused! I have already filed my initial claim, with my confirmation number they gave me a date of Wednesday 03/25 and every Wednesday after to claim my benefits?
I’m in a similar process now except my employer filed for partial unemployment on my behalf b/c I am only temporarily without a job and will return to the same employer. Your process is different then mine but I’ve been though it 2014. It’s slightly changed do to COVID-19.You MUST File for your first week of unemployment benefits under “claim weekly UI benefits” on the GDOL website. This will start the process of them contacting your former employer for information about the separation. You must continue to request your payments each week even if you don’t hear from GDOL or you will not receive money for those weeks. They will reimburse you if it takes weeks to approve your claim.Wait for a call or email. If your employer gives a different reason for the separation or they need any information to approve your claim they must get this before they approve it. Respond immediatelyGDOL May need to contact you to file an “applicant status affidavit DOL1054A” which is proof you are legally allowed to be in the US and that you live in GA. If they need this and you don’t respond they will not approve your claim. You will have to mail it to the office that Is handling your claim. Look for the address on your confirmation email or look on the website under “find a career center”.You are basically waiting to hear from them. You can check your application status on the GDOL website under the tap “check my UI claim status”if you do not have a pin you can create one bygoing to “claim weekly UI benefit payments” on GDOL websitefill out your ssn where applicable. Leave the box blank next to “if you already have a pin enter it here”Make up a 4 digit pin where it says “if you need to set-up a pin, enter it hereEnter the same pin in the box where it says “re-enter for verification”click submitNow you have a pin. Try to go back and “check my UI Benefit status” page. Due to the number of claims the entire process is very delayed. You must keep trying everyday and stand by for an email or letter. Most importantly make sure you claim for each week you are eligible while you wait. They will reimburse you for the weeks that you were waiting to be approved. My employer filed partial unemployment benefits which was supposed to be faster (website says 48hours) and it took almost a week. I’ve been without pay for 4 weeks and was finally able to log-in to the claim status page (before it just told me it didn’t recognize my ssn) and see that my money will deposited in two days.make sure you elect for direct deposit that is on the “claim weekly UI benefit payments” page at the bottom click “enroll/ change/ cancel direct deposit information” let me know if you have any questions.
Is OneAssist mobile insurance company a fraud?
I wouldn’t go as far as calling them fraud. I will just give a simple timeline of my experience with OneAssist.Bought a Redmi Note 3 phone on 3rd May 2016 with OneAssist’s insurance which they brand it as Mi Protect. After the use of couple of weeks the screen cracked in an accident. On 13th July 2016 I reported the incidence and raised the claim on their portal.Due to no action from their end, I called them. For which they replied, 'There’s no OneAssist service attached to this IMEI' and blaming Xiaomi for the whole thing. After multiple calls, email exchanges and providing all sorts of proofs (which ideally speaking I should not be providing) finally on 27th July 2016 I received an email from OneAssist saying my documents are verified and they will facilitate the pickup of the damaged device soon.Their agent collected the device somewhere between 5th - 8th August 2016 (don’t remember exactly as there is no notification from OneAssist regarding the intimation of the pickup on email or SMS)Phone actually submitted to Mi service center by OneAssist on 27th August 2016. (Refer point number 9 if you want to know how I have this information.)On 31st August 2016 I received an email from OneAssist saying'This is with reference to your claim request filed with us vide Service Request number 146XXXX. Please be informed that your claim has been approved for an amount of Rs.XXXX.0/-. You are requested to make immediate payment of the EXCESS amount Rs.XXX.0/- to the below mentioned bank account, to help us process the repair and delivery of your handset.'On 4th September 2016 I made the payment of the asked amount. After waiting for weeks for their reply regarding the repair I called and emailed customer support numerous times (this word is actually not doing justice to my efforts). They kept on giving me tentative dates on when the handset would be repaired. (Till date they have given me 5–6 tentative dates when I would be receiving my phone). Whenever the date used to approach I used to call them (because they never cared to keep me posted) to ask the status of the repair and every time they used to give me some future date when the handset would be ready. Typically a date 1–3 weeks in the future. Blaming Mi center for the unavailability of spares. On 20th October 2016 I tried to gather the details from the customer support where they have given my phone for repair and the job sheet (received on 22nd October 2016. Because PROMPTNESS!) I contacted the service center myself. It blew my mind knowing that the handset has already been repaired days (or maybe even weeks) back.Did back and forth with customer service on calls and emails trying to exesplain the phone has already been repaired. They did not budge a bit.'We understand your concern. However, there is some formal procedure which has to be followed. Therefore, we are unable to deliver your handset instantly. We appreciate your patience and assure you that your repaired handset will be delivered to you within maximum 48 hrs of due date given to you.' Even after confirming on 24th October 2016 from the service center that the phone has been repaired. I got this reply from OneAssist on 5th November 2016.'We deeply regret for the delay in delivery of your handset. We wish to inform you that the repair due date is on 16/11/2016. We are following up on your case and ensure speedy resolution.'On doing some amount of ground work I got to know from couple of sources inclusive of Mi service center that OneAssist has similar attitude with other customers as well. Mi service center people told that there are numerous phones lying with them which are already repaired, OneAssist is not paying for it and hence are not delivered to them.On browsing through networking websites to check people’s reaction towards their service. These were the first few Tweets I found on OneAssist’s Twitter home.Praveen Gupta on TwitterPets In Your Home on TwitterA Sundar on TwitterI have wasted ~12 hours of my time dealing with OneAssist. There were ~50 email exchanges between me and OneAssistNearly 30–40 calls with average duration of 10 minutes each. To put it into perspective. I now know a lot of OneAssist’s support team. To name a few:Arun Panwar (senior person)Shamika (again a senior)Ajay (team leader)NehalRiddhiIramMajority of the time it was me who called. Whenever rarely they called either it used to be a blank call or a call which used to disconnect as soon as it was lifted up.Nearly an hour plus writing this postI recently celebrated my 4 months of broken phone. Till today i.e. 16th November 2016 I haven’t received my phone.I rest my case.
