Knowing English already will help you a lot more than knowing German (also helpful), since many basic words are often more alike (cognates) between Danish & English - just somewhat distorted along fairly predictable patterns in some cases.And there are also many similar grammatical features, like some sort of basic (older) “pseudo” English WITHOUT the peculiar use of “do” and “-ing” with tenses with verbs in English - like a sort of parallel world of an older, simpler English, if you like 😏A good idea is to watch TV-programmes from our public service TV-channels called DR ( see links below), which have 4 live channels + a large archive with many programmes with selectable subtitles in Danish ( both Danish & foreign programmes! ).
