What are the best drama movies? A List is what we looking for

Below mentioned are some of the finest drama movies I’ve watched across Bollywood & Hollywood.TalvarTalvar led by Irrfan Khan is a must watch movie. Got a chance to watch the paid preview of the movie. I wanted to wait for critic's response to the film, but somehow decided to attend the preview. Meghna Gulzar's direction is gripping and thrilling. I am watching her work for the first time and will surely be eager to watch her future works. The film's narration is perfect and grasping, which result in an edge of the seat story. The background music is soothing and Gulzar made sure to give best for his daughter. There is not a single dull or bad moment in the film. Talking about the stellar cast in the movie, I have to say 'mind blowing'. Irrfan Khan does it again. He leads the charge like a boss. It's so much fun to watch him on screen. He is serious, funny, humorous, sarcastic, unapologetic, rude..everything he plays with an ease. I don't know the names of many actors, even though I know them by face, everyone did a fantastic job. It was great to watch a movie like Talvar on Gandhi Jayanti. The faults in the system, the non-interested investigating officers and the society..are properly represented in the movie. Thoroughly researched made the movie haunting and compelling.WonderAuggie Pullman (Jacob Tremblay), the central character in Stephen Chbosky’s “Wonder,” is a brainy 10-year-old boy with a sweet high voice and a congenital facial deformity, whom numerous corrective surgeries have left looking like a cherub after a car accident. His left eye tugs downward as if a teardrop were falling from it; his ears are bulbs of flesh, and his face is framed by a pinkish ring of scar tissue. That said, he’s not the Phantom of the Opera. He’s just an ordinary kid whose looks take a bit of getting used to. Auggie is a science geek who loves “Star Wars” and Minecraft, ice cream and X-Box sports games; he’s fueled by all-American fantasies of going to outer space. His face, which looks youthful and old at the same time, is jarring the first time you see it, but the more you take in his innocent if slightly askew elfin features, the more his soul shines through. Any thoughts that he’s ugly, or odd, are really in the eye of the beholder. “Wonder” is a movie that belongs in their company. It’s a very tasteful heart-tugger — a drama of disarmingly level-headed empathy that glides along with wit, assurance, and grace, and has something touching and resonant to say about the current climate of American bullying.Taxi no 9211Taxi No. 9211 is a fresh breather in Bollywood with a very unique screenplay after watching all the movies with "inspired" stories. This light entertainer takes place in the time-span of just one day. There's no long-drawn plot, no melodrama, no serious issues--just pure fun. John Abraham, a thoroughly spoilt brat, and Nana Patekar, a struggling, insecure cab driver become a significant factor in each other's lives. Although resting on opposite ends of the social hierarchy, they have one thing strongly in common--their ego. They embark on their journey in a taxi not knowing that their destinations are themselves. Filled with witty and clever dialogues, Taxi No. 9211 is a fun entertainer that gives us a little reminder to be honest and embracing. Direction is excellent! Everyone gave a fantastic performance. Vishal-Shekhar's compositions are as innovative as this movie! "Meter Down" is a catchy song with a really cool video.NayakWhat impressed me most about the movie is the tightness of the script. Events unfold one after the other. Neither too fast, nor too slow. Keeps you gripped. The events are coherent. Something you rarely see in Indian movies is people referring to events that have happened in the beginning of the movie. More often than not, the scripts are improvised on the sets and to maintain continuity the dialogues are abstract in nature so that the different parts gel in. To make a movie with cross references to subtle events needs you to have a script very firmly in place. Second good thing about the movie was the experimentation with Visuals. Though at some points I felt that they have just indulged into special effects without the need for it (they should use effects only where needed), but honestly I was very impressed by the efforts taken to meet quality standards. What has put off many people about the movie is the songs and dance and the unrealistic fights and some silly extremism. Well the songs really don't have much bearing on the movie. And they have experimented with a very rustic style of entertainment which won't get wasted on everyone. As far as the fights and 'silly extremism' go, I feel they tried to retain the HERO flavor which would really appeal to a large aspect of the masses. The movie has very innovative ideas and also dares to be different - thought most of that part should be attributed to its South Indian Counterpart. I would say please go and see the movie. Its a nice experience. Appreciate it for its professionalism and technical expertise. Appreciate it for amazing dialogues and great performances by Paresh Rawal and Anil Kapoor both. It is a thought provoking film - something I feel the movie really set out to be. So its purpose is served.AndhadhunBrilliant...This cinematic experience will not let you stay back in your seat relaxed. Writers have knitted a pitch perfect Mystery around : Murder,Money & Man who is Blind (!). Taut screenplay and black comic narrative by Raghavan, the story's audacious characters and twists, keep you riveted.Crisp editing grips you.Cinematography is something that boasts the storytelling.Piano scenes are superbly crafted and choreographed , underlined by Amit Trivedi's music and Daniel B George's background score.Couple of acts veneered with poetic touch & Tribute to Chayahar & Chitrageet is something that needs applaud. Tabu is showing her class. Ayushman delivers career best. Rest all are fab too.HighwayLet me start by saying that this movie has everything right about it. From direction and cinematography to performances and music. The locations are breath taking. Imtiaz Ali yet again delivers a "hat ke" love story. Its not exactly a love story but a tale of two people who want to get free and experience life. Both the characters have there own painful pasts and when they come together they let it all go and try to start it all over again. Their journey is the theme of this movie. Alaya Bhatt and Randeep Hooda deliver power packed performances with a great supporting cast. The movie forces us to think about the society we live in and how people struggle to lead a normal life. Be it a rich family or a poor villager. They have there own challenges. I won't go more into the story line as that is something to be experienced. This movie comes with a message and we are left to think what freedom and liberation means. I will strongly recommend this one.Jolly LLB 2Court room dramas are always a captivating watch and the Jolly LLb 2 court room scenes that occupy most of the second half are no different. While the story may not be as sharp as the original Jolly LLB the second part certainly keeps us engaged with powerhouse performances and witty one liners that kept me watching the action and laughing at the same time more on bollywood pataka. Yet again Akshay Kumar makes his character Jagdishwar Mishra completely believable. From the look to the walk and the talk he has got the small town lawyer down pat. He begins as slippery eel out to make it big and ends up as protector of the law and the transformation is energetic and robust. Annu Kapoor who is pitted against Akshay Kumar is taut in his act, but the man who delivers the perfect courtroom pitch with witty one liners and strong screen command is the Judge played by Saurabh Shukla. What comes through is Saurabh's knowledge of the process and mechanics of the running of courts in India. Yet again an award winning performance for Sahrabh Shukla. Saurabh you are brilliant and it shines through in your act!Tanu Weds ManuWatched Tanu Weds Manu with a low expectation. And to my immense surprise, I felt extremely satisfied after watching it. In fact, as the movie progressed, I found myself being lost in the narrative, flowing with the storyline and the characters (mainly with the hero). This low profile movie is based on an unrealistic story of a well-educated (and well-mannered) NRI doctor, falling for a drunkard, smoker, foul-mouthed and philandering girl of a middle class family of Kanpur (it's been told that she had had her education in Delhi). However, it's the utterly realistic portrayal of this unrealistic story on the screen which makes it a winner. As expected, the boy falling for the charms of the girl (whom he sees for the first time in a highly intoxicated state and he thought she was slept), finally wins her over first emotionally and then practically. So the end of the movie is as predictable as any other bollywood movie of the same genre. However, the twists and turns in the story alongwith the highly realistic milieu and the supporting characters involved, turn the experience of watching this movie into a highly satisfying one. At the very outset, it reminds the viewer of Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and later it is reminiscent of Jab We Met and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge at places. However the commendable thing is that despite similarities in bits and pieces, this movie maintains an identity of its own. It's definitely not a copy of any other movie. The locales of Kanpur, Kapurthala, Lucknow etc. have been captured by the cinematographer with a high degree of excellence for which he deserves an award for sure. The lives of the middle class people (whether they are from the prospective bride's side or the prospective groom's side) have been shown with so much naturalness that the characters and their homes look quite real and nowhere filmi. The middle-class India shown in the movie is, in fact, the real one with real flesh and blood characters that may be found at next door to us.
