In ODI many of Sachin's record are tough to break. A few of them I noticed are-1) 463 ODI matches-It’s almost impossible to break this record because now no team plays more than 25 ODI matches every year because of many international T20s and T20 leagues( IPL, Big Bash, CPL etc ) whereas there was a time when around 35 ODI matches were played, especially during 1996-2007.2) 96 ODI half centuries-I think it’s impossible to break because this record now as nowadays the conversion rate from 50s to 100s have increased a lot.The no. of 50s and 100s scored by Virat, Amla, ABD are more or less close from which we can tell the conversion rate from 50 to 100 has increased a lot nowadays whereas players from the past like Sachin, Ponting, Jaysuria, Sourav have converted just a few.A few records which might get broken in the upcoming years-1)18,426 ODI runs-Well, this might be broken someday by someone but at present only one player comes to my mind and i.e Virat Kohli. Even though Sachin Tendulkar had around 9900 runs at 27 years of age, with an average of 42, Virat even after scoring just 7212 runs, has an average of 51.11. And I personally feel that the fitness level of the present players are awesome because of the global awareness and technological advancements in this field. As a result of which I am hoping that he might play till 39-40 years of age without any break in his career.And if he goes on to score 1000 runs every year,he will probably break this record.Virat is consistently scoring around 1000 runs every year.2)49 ODI centuries- Virat already has 25 centuries in 171 matches. With the rate at which he is scoring centuries I feel that he might overtake 49 centuries within 7-8 years.3)200 tests-Sachin played 200 tests in 24 years from where even if we exclude his injured tenure, he still has played for 21-22 years. This means he played around 9-10 tests every year. Now India plays 7-8 tests per year so I don’t think any Indian player will be able to break this record. Nowadays England plays around 12-13 tests every year. As a result of which players like Cook, Root have played a lot of tests in the recent years.For exact reference- Cook has played 129 tests in 10 years (13 tests per year ), and Root 46 tests in 3.5 years (14 tests per years) whereas Sachin had played 80 tests in 10 years. Now at this rate one of them might break this record.4) 51 Test Centuries-Cook has 29 centuries in 129 tests. If he goes on to play 200 tests he might even break this record.Statistics don’t determine the class of any player. They are numbers which might give a perspective about the game but a class player always remains a class player, even-after his statistics are broken.
