Once your app is over a week old I wouldn’t expect a call.If you make an interview, simply don’t be weird, tell them you will work extremely hard (and mean it), and be very flexible with scheduling.Some don’ts:Don’t call the warehouse to remind yourself to the manager. Warehouses phones are blowing up every minute and no one wants to deal with tracking down some manager you want to talk to. Making a personal appearance and asking to talk to the manager of the department you’re looking to work for might be alright if the warehouse isn’t busy at the time of your visit. Just make the meeting a 30 second “hi my name is so-and-so and I submitted an app, I’d really like to work here”.Don’t come in an give them a paper app. Use the online system like everybody else.Don’t over or under dress for the interview. Look at how the managers are dressed there and do likewise (usually Dockers and a tucked in polo but sporting Kirkland brand won’t hurt you).Don’t tell them you can’t work evenings/weekends/holidays. This is a retail job and they specifically hire people to work at those times.

Hence why Walmart’s applications ask so many questions about your ability to qualify for welfare and they have a high turn over rate.Costco uses a technique that used to be more common and helped create a middle class. Costco’s technique helps their employees receive a living wage and not need government assistance to get by as often. This type of thing was more commonly done pre-1980s.Walmart relies on government assistance programs to support their employees so they can claim higher profits. They pass the savings they get by being subsidized by government assistance programs (your tax dollars) to give their share holders larger portions of the profits. So your tax dollars make up the income Walmart refuses to pay.
