Since Google also owns Waze, the reports made by actual Waze drivers is now incorporated in Google Maps traffic analysis. IPhone and android phones running Google Maps send driving data like speed and slow downs or stopping back to Google in the background so actual driving conditions are automatically entered into the predictive calculations. Google monitors accident reports and Waze users send in reports on their current driving conditions including traffic flow and accidents at the touch of a button. I guess that depends on part in what you mean by “know.”Most cops aren't able to recite any statutes verbatim. They know the elements of the ones they regularly use. An “element” is a point or issue that has to be proven to get a conviction. In court, if you fail to prove even one element of the crime, you can't get a guilty verdict.Traffic cops will know the traffic laws better than the criminal statutes. Regular Patrol cops will know the major traffic statutes, and the more common criminal laws they use every day. Everyone has to pull up the text of a statute now and then to ensure they've covered all the bases.Sometimes you know something is a crime or violation, but can't remember where it's found. I assisted another officer who was taking an accident report. An overloaded pickup truck full of construction debris had a chunk of shingle fly off and hit the windshield of another car. He knew there was a violation there, but couldn't remember what it was called or where to find it. I had a traffic statute book with me (this pre-dated smart phones and even laptops) and found it for him: “Sifting or leaking load.” He bought me coffee.

I’ll just give you a heads up that I copied my post straight from Facebook so it’s not as eloquently worded as I would like.Photo credit: Facebook, I have no clue where it’s originally from though.This is why I stopped teaching. 4 different schools over 3ish years, and its all the same. $9/hr before taxes, 20 kids all 4yrs old (my class had 5 of those 20 on various stages of the spectrum, I had no assistant) basic classroom materials are provided but "extras" are paid for by teachers and is not reimbursed (you know, stuff for science experiments, classroom decorations, stuffed animals, extra clothing because accidents happen, construction paper (over the monthly allowance), books, good paint, good crayons/markers/pencils, art supplies, notebooks, dress up items, reward box items, diapers (because again, accidents happen and not all parents provided enough to get their kids through the day)) I couldnt claim anything on my taxes because preschool teachers dont count, only K-12 teachers matter to the government apparently. The amount of work is insane. You get no planning period, so you have your 1hr unpaid lunch break to work on lesson plans. You barley get bathroom breaks because lets be honest, you cant leave 20 four year olds unattended, and the front office has too much to worry about to give you a potty break (6 UTIs my first year teaching). Then, when they all go home, you need to vacume, mop, scrub, spray and wipe/disinfect your classroom top to bottom. Yeah, no janitors in preschools, teachers are custodians as well. The abuse from administration is insane. The drama from other teachers is insane. Parents can be obnoxious, and while I get where they are coming from its simply imposible to do everything 20sets of parents want all at the same time. If all 20 kids survived the day with no accident reports it was a miricle. Look, I made $20 an hour as a nanny for the best baby in the world when I was 15. I sometimes watched his sister as well. At 22, I was responsible for 25 children for a third of that. Its insane. I miss teaching sometimes, but then I remember the nightmares and tears and heartbreak and stress and doctor visits and lice checks and I just could never go back. Ill save the teaching for my own kids some day, but this world is in some serious trouble because these chhildren are our future *rant over*
