I would not have replied to such a question. But, a few days back, it happened with my wife. Not once but twice. Someone phoned her and told her that her name has been removed from voter list by Modi ji and that Arvind Kejriwal ji could get her name restored in the voter list.[Edit: After I wrote this answer and was about to upload it, my wife has told me that yesterday she got a third call from AAP for the same purpose!!! She disconnected mid-way. Perhaps, her phone number has landed in their database.]She did not tell me after the first call. But, next day when a similar second call came, she told me about it. I could not believe as to how could her name be removed from voter list. Unlike the champion of the aam aadmi (in whose support the phone call was purportedly made) who was himself once alleged to have had his name in two voter lists simultaneously,[1][1][1][1] my wife and I have our names only in one voter list. And, nobody had come to our building to check our presence or absence.I immediately checked the voter list of our area on the website of Delhi Chief Electoral Officer. Final voter list had been prepared on 18 January 2019. My wife’s name was very much there!!! And, of course, my name was also there. Intact.So, it was a hoax call.After reading this question, I checked online and I found that a similar issue has already been raised by BJP in the media.[2][2][2][2]So, it was not that my wife was the only person who got such call. Many other persons would perhaps have received similar calls.Now, to answer your question, frankly speaking, I don’t know what would be the benefit to AAP (or whosoever is doing it) by calling people with phone calls like this. There may be some illiterate or uneducated people who may be convinced by such wrong practices. But, generally speaking, an educated person would rather disapprove of such a wrong practice. And, in fact, it may turn some voters against the party.I personally believe that it is an ill-advised practice being followed by whosoever is doing it. I doubt whether it will lead to any benefit to the party concerned, whosoever is doing it.[Edit: At least this third call is recorded in my wife’s phone, though she disconnected it mid-way. This call came from mobile No. 892966#### (I am hiding remaining digits) yesterday, i.e., 5 Feb 2019 at 11:29 am.][Edit-2: I have been able to find the recording of the second call too, which was made on 30 Jan 2019 at 5.27 pm.
