In a motion for temporary orders, the family court rules on how issues like temporary child support, parenting time, legal decision-making and/or spousal maintenance are handled during the course of the divorce proceedings. The final order from the divorce decree will determine these matters after the divorce, and the court has the right to modify temporary orders.You should bring copies of all the paperwork filed in your case; including all relevant supporting documentation to make sure the judge can rule accurately during your hearing.It is important that relevant motions & supporting documentation have been prepared & submitted as required, or appropriate, before the hearing.You should have copies of any agreements between the parties regarding issues addressed in the Temporary Orders; such as childcare, child custody, visitation schedule & other considerations in Parenting times, determining legal decision-making authority, housing & vehicle posession, spousal support & other financial implications, these should be available for the judges approval and adoption.Multiple copies of any documentation related to counter motions filed, or to issues for the terms of the temporary orders the parties haven't yet agreed upon, that aren't held in the courts records, should be available. Especially when temporary orders usually form the basis of final decree orders.Before the hearing, reasonable consideration toward mutually agreed visitation, child support & division of expenses, etc. should be given good-faith efforts by both parties.Unless a prior agreement is reached by both parties, the Judge will set a schedule for each parent to have the child(ren) in their residence, will determine things like holiday schedules & pick up/drop off arrangements in accordance with standard guidelines rather than priorities important to the parties interests.Temporary child support will be awarded based on factors like each parents’ income & where the child will be residing the majority of the time. Provisions for spousal maintenance may be made if one party is particularly reliant on the other's financial support, or one’s income is significantly higher than the other.Temporary order hearings may also address which party is able to reside in the marital home, who will retain possession of a family car or other assets, and how the division of any other financial responsibilities & expenses, not covered under Child Support, are assigned; which can include children's tuition payments, expenses for lessons, sports, & other activities engaged in prior to the parties separation.Any documentation necessary to support your position in these issues should be available, in multiple copies, & organized for ready access.

Has legal paternity been established to the Court's satisfaction? Has a petition for custody been filed? If so, try to negotiate with the mom but file the equivalent of a motion for temporary orders seeking to have a temporary custody schedule ordered if she is out-of-bounds unreasonable.
