None of them resolved.The normal course of tax audits is either a compromise or a payment of taxes. I suspect the IRS and Trump’s lawyers have been arguing about a tax position which requires that Trump reveal a great deal more about his corporate holdings and personal finances than Trump has or cares to document to satisfy the IRS.The obvious conclusion is tax fraud or a subset thereto (e.g. misreporting income, undervaluing assets, overvaluing liabilities).If Donald Trump were told that a federal law allowed Congressional tax committees to view his returns, he would have ended his campaign. If Donald Trump was told this he lacked any political muscle in NY State to avoid having the NY AG open an investigation into his financial “empire”, he would have never filed to run and would have retired to Florida 6 years ago.Trump has reached a point where juggling chainsaws on a unicycle would be easier than keeping his tax returns exposed to view, however limited. It is not about attempts, it is about his “fear” becoming reality.
