PDF Editor FAQ
How would you handle uninvited guests the DAY of your wedding, that absolutely can't be accommodated for? "Oh, so-and-so's wanted to come so I brought them!"
Luckily for me, I didn't have this issue for either of my weddings. I did see this a couple of times while working for a wedding planner. Typically it was my job to handle this issue when it came up. I would politely and tactfully tell them that they weren't actually invited and to please leave. If they tried arguing with me I would tell them that they could leave willingly or they could choose to be escorted away. Once they were given that choice they would just leave.I actually had a groom put a name into the contract of a person who was absolutely not allowed to attend and if she was seen either in the Church or reception hall and we let her in we would lose half of what we were to be paid. She was a co-worker and at a previous wedding she crashed it, took trays of food from the reception, along with the anniversary tier of the cake.Day of the wedding arrives and I see her approach. I calmly asked her to leave and she tried to claim she was invited. After informing her she wasn't invited and she wasn't on my list she left. Once the ceremony started I went to the reception hall and saw her sitting in a car in the parking lot. This time I just called the police and she was arrested for trespassing. Towards the end of the reception the groom pulled me to the side and asked about her. I told him that the police were keeping her in custody until after the reception. He laughed and thanked my boss and me for the job we did.Addition:Just to clarify, the woman was co-workers with the groom, not me. Had she worked for the planner she would have been fired in a heartbeat.
Have you ever experienced a “bridezilla”? Were you part of the wedding party or a vendor for the wedding?
“You gotta nip it in the bud!” Barney FifeI work as a wedding planner. The term Bridezilla is one of those terms that gets tossed out when we see a bride having a tough day. I have seen brides get upset about what seems to be the smallest of details. Each and every bride that I work for and with is special and each has their most important detail that they want to be perfect. The other thing I need to state clearly, is that getting married is stressful. So during this time, having and maintaining healthy habits is important. Most “Bridezilla” moments I have seen happen are due to stress and low blood sugar levels. Then we have those who think Reality TV is reality (My first order once I am Queen of the World is banning all these crap Reality TV shows). Typically upper middle class. Family does well but not especially rich. Bride is either the only daughter or an only child. Tend to be younger, between the ages of 18 to 24.So I have had a total of three. One actually thought that by constantly acting like a Bridezilla, she would get her way. Two months before the wedding, she called all the vendors including me, and swore us all out for working on other weddings. All of us cancelled our services. In our contracts we have a behavioral clause. Basically if you constantly swearing at us, throwing tantrums, or acting out, we are allowed to break the contract. Yes, I do document everything too.The second one tried at first, but I put an end to it really fast. There were a few moments of screaming and crying, but she made it to her wedding. I heard it didn't last though. The third one came into my office, threw a massive tantrum, and when I told her I didn't have time for her behavior, she left and never came back. I'm not sure if she actually ended up getting married. The reason why I put that quote up, is because I learned hard and fast that if a person tries to use tantrums to get their way, and it happens, every time something doesn't go their way a tantrum will happen. So I do what I can to nip it in the bud.
