If you’ve been released from the waitlist it means that the university has decided you are no longer a viable candidate. That means you have two choices:The first choice is to allow your disappointment to overwhelm you. That disappointment will follow you into whichever school you do accept admission to, which will guarantee you an unhappy university experience.The second choice is to realize that Columbia is not the pinnacle of excellence, and that acceptance or rejection by any university is not a referendum on your worth as a person. People who go to Columbia, or any other university, are no better or worse than you simply because they won an admissions lottery.I presume you were offered a spot at another school, and that you accepted admissions. If so, then put Columbia’s rejection out of your mind and move on with your life. Trust me, this will not be your last disappointment in your adult life, nor will it be the most painful or profound. Don’t let your disappointment make this rejection more significant than it is — which is to say, it isn’t. You may be surprised at how happy you will be at another school, as long as you allow yourself to be.

Some important points here:In many cases, a personal bankruptcy will not result in a lien on your home being released.Bankruptcy is not the only option. Every SBA loan requires the personal guarantee of the owner(s) who own more than 20%. So if your business fails and it filed for bankruptcy, in order to get released from personal liability you could try to settled by way of an SBA Offer In Compromise. Alternatively, you could pursue a personal bankruptcy.Some other answers here are wrong regarding exactly what the SBA guarantee means. A 75% SBA guarantee doesn't mean that you are liable for 25% of the loan. You are responsible for 100% of the debt. The guarantee gets the bank 75% of their money back, but it doesn't change what you owe.
