TWENTY-ONE DAYS PAID LEAVE - EVERY TWENTY-ONE DAYS!Yes, you heard it right! Let me explain:I have a job that gives me a THREE-WEEK PAID OFF after every three weeks of work, alternatively. For example, I start working on 1st Jan, I will work up to 21st Jan, and I will be on a paid off up to 11th Feb, and will have to join again on 12th Feb, again work up to 4th March and so on. All the employees in my job profile get the benefit of this perk.Usually people go to their hometown to stay with their families, however apart from being with family, a lot of people (including myself) prefer travelling, exploring new places, trying new cuisines etc. The best part - nobody will call you from office! (since there is already somebody else working on your position while you are off-duty!)So on an average, we work only for 6 months a year! And apart from this, we get additional up to 25 days of annual leaves!This is just one of the perks that I get at my company. A lot more are as follows:Company paid travel - every time I travel from site to hometown. I come under the category of hometown <= 1000 km from site, so I get a 2-tier AC fare. People travelling to distant places get to and fro flights - paid by company! The travel includes cab fares from Railway station/Airport to Residence and vice versa, and sometimes hotel stays in case of cancellation/delay of trains/flights.Free meals and accommodation at site - Including Breakfast, Morning and Evening tea and snacks, Lunch and Dinner. Sometimes open lawn dinner is organized at site on Sundays, which constitutes for special dinner preparations like Chinese, continental etc. Not to forget, a free access to a variety of biscuits and namkeen to munch on!Recreational activities - Including a fully eqipped gym, cricket,volleyball, table tennis, and even Xbox!A 3-star equivalent AC bunk accommodation - including a 32’’ LED TV with digital set-top box connection, a mini refrigerator, a room heater, attached bathrooms with water heater, and ready availability of mineral drinking water, toiletries like soap, hair oil, shampoo, toothpaste, shaving gel and razor etc.Compensatory off reimbursement - Either in form of leave or cash if we choose to attend any training organized by company during our vacation period. Not to mention, the entire expenditure of the training, including training fee,travel, accommodation etc. is borne by the company.A mobile phone device reimbursement every two years, up to INR 15,000.Annual Gym/Club/Sports memberships up to INR 25,000.Last, but most important - A Seven figure annual salary!I love my company :PEdit: I work as a production engineer in Cairn India Ltd. I qualify for this question on two counts; no spouse and childless. Parents have passed away. However I am 64, not 70. On the down side, I lost a corporate job two years ago and am struggling financially as I try to get a home-based business functional.So… Christmas ought to be glum, right?Not at all. First, I went to the local kennel club Christmas Party. Then friends treated me to the local Sing Along Messiah evening. Both are in the sponsoring choir. I volunteered at the MakerSpace Christmas craft event for kids, went with a friend for our annual tour of Costco while sampling, and attended a Makerspace Xmas potluck.After my father passed away, his widow re-married. She and her new husband decided I was still one of her ‘kids’, so I was invited to their family Christmas celebration on the 21st…turkey dinner, conversation, prezzies.Christmas Day I went to the annual drop-in breakfast hosted by two of my friends. I usually spend Christmas afternoon singing carols and performing canine freestyle at a care home but passed this year because I was sick with a newly-hatched cold.Christmas Day evening I went to another friend’s place for dinner with her and her brother (both now single and child-free). On Boxing Day I met with a single/child-free friend for morning coffee. My sister and her husband are coming in a couple of days…we’re talking movie and dinner and prezzie exchange…and early in the new year I’ll get together with friends and their children when they return from their family visit and I have a New Year’s gathering with the local cinema society.From all of the above and the other answers I see to this question, it becomes obvious that there are many great people in the world who will reach out to ensure you do not spend Christmas alone.Plus you can build your own ‘family’ and your own ‘traditions’ to fill the holidays. Several of the items I listed - the kennel club party, Sing Along Messiah, Costco sampling, Xmas with family-by-choice, drop-in breakfast, and care home performance have occurred for several years.
