11 Am Traditional: Fill & Download for Free

Elevenses is real. It's a late morning snack, served around (surprise) 11 AM. You usually have coffee or tea, and cakes or pastries. The term is now kind of antiquated, and I don't think it sees much currency, but Tolkien definitely did not invent it. It dates back to at least the late 19th century.The term sounds quaint, but it's equivalent to a mid-morning coffee break, which isn't uncommon in the US.In the film version The Fellowship of the Ring, Pippin refers to both elevenses and second breakfast, as well as luncheon, tea, dinner, and supper. That's six, plus the breakfast they already had makes seven. Even Tolkien thought that hobbits ate only six meals a day, and having both second breakfast and elevenses is probably redundant (especially since second breakfast traditionally includes sausages as well, and is served a mere half-hour before elevenses).

Mine and Husband’s entire family including cousins have gathered together in Hyderabad for New year. So we threw a party here at home, and brother in law made an amazing rum based cocktail among others, and some Hyderabadi biryani. Yum!The party ended at 3 am and we woke up after a great sleep at 11 am.I had to reply to some emails, and finish a presentation so I did that during the day, and got ready for a traditional ‘‘Satyanarayana pooja’ for the evening. I wore a purple traditional Banarasi that mother in law gifted me, and decked up to the nines. I love doing that as I don’t get a regular chance in Europe to do that. The Pooja took long, but it was such a beautiful experience. Husband and I performed it for the first time.Some more of our relatives came in for the same, and also joined us for some amazing Bisibelebath, and Puran poli dinner with a lot of Sweets (Which I didn’t eat)We ended the day with all my cousins playing this really fun game called Psych!Here are some pictures :)

Happened today.Kenneth Chenault , CEO , American Express, was visiting us , (Gurgaon campus) before he steps down from the designation soon.He was supposed to reach at “11 am , sharp” , the only thing came to mind when my manager qouted that was, “My ass sharp 11 am”, I mean, ofcourse I dont remember rich businessmen being known for their punctuality, All i knew was, People at the top are least concerned about time of people under them.But, Man, I was so wrong!!Kenneth Chenualt, with his pretty wife and his team , all decked up in traditional indian wear, ( it was the theme for the day) Was at the gate at Sharp 11 am.He came right on time, had such positive energy around him, did all his meetings, took a tour of the office, etc, exactly how things were scheduled.Respect x 100Meeting him inspired me to respect time, mine and others , as well, along with proving all the things that people say about him being humble, kind , intelligent etc, true.
