The question isn’t well-posed. “C++” is a programming language — it doesn’t “output” anything. Most likely you’re talking about a program written in C++. I did a long journey in terms of salary. I started my career with a package of 60k per year. Yes, you read it correct. HCL Infosystems was my first employer and my first in hand salary was only 4461/-.Now after 14 years, I am earning more than 50 times of my first salary. This looks wonderful, but it was not easy at all. In my professional career, I have lost my job 3 times and been unemployed for long time. I had to do many irrelevant things (such as Sales), which I don't want to remember now.How much a person can grow depends on many factors. Growth is not generic and varies person to person and situation to situation, however I can suggest you few things as per my experience:Start. Don't wait for high paying job at the beginning. Whatever suitable and relevant opportunity you get, even in low salary, just start.Decide, what you want to do. Never join any industry blindly because few of your friends say it's wonderful. Always be what you love to do, even if you will earn less. Trust me, money matters for first 10–15 years of your career. But after that what you need is satisfaction and stability. I can tell you because I did this very same mistake. I had great interest in Mechanical Engineering and I got job in Mahindra & Mahindra too, but without proper guidance, and because most of my friends suggested, I joined IT industry. Today I am doing well in IT but still I have regret that why didn't I listen to my heart then. May be I was earning less, but I was definitely more happy and satisfied for sure.Write it down that it will take time to grow. It's not an instant process and you can't reach 0 to 100 over night. If someone is telling he did grow in little time, he is lying.Have mastery in at-least two technologies and try to have working knowledge of multiple technologies. This is not US or Europe where you will survive entire life with only one technology.If your job has too much confort, you are in a wrong job. Don't get used-to of ease and comfort, else you won't be able to work in a difficult situation.Never leave any opportunity to learn. Never say no to any relevant assignment, even if you don't know about it. If any work is coming to you and tou don't know about that, say Yes and then learn that technology. People who fear of doing something new, can't grow.At the same time, learn to say no to irrelevant things. Admit that you can't do everything. If someone has unrealistic expectations from you, say NO politely. In HCL, I did Sales too, just to try something new and I did well. But soon I realized that I am not made for sales, so I switched back to my core.Don't stick with one company for very long time, at-least for first 10–12 years of your career. You can get good growth by switching the companies in an interval of 3–4 years. My first salary was 4461/- and after 5 years when I left HCL, my last salary was 13626/-. I got my next job with 35000/- a month salary. Few of my friends who are with HCL since 15 years, they are still earning 35–40k. Yes, when you reach your mid career (12–15 years), stick with a good company and grow.That's not in your hands, but if get a chance, always prefer to work with a Product based organization instead of Service based. Nothing wrong with Service organizations but in Product companies you will get more growth opportunities, compared with Service companies. If you talk about IT industry, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, Cisco etc. are Product companies whereas Wipro, TCS, Infosys, HCL are Service companies.Last thing - Save and Invest. Create your financial backup from your current salary. Trust me, no matter what high position you are currently in, there is no job security in private jobs. If you have a good financial backup, you can survive in bad times. Always remember, no one, and I mean no one will help you when you are in trouble. So prepare well in advance.Good luck!
