As the registered owner of anything, if you need to get a recall notice or some communication regarding your device, they know where to send the letter.The same goes for guns, and I’m not talking about your warranty card you send in. If for any reason “they” decide your registered thing is “bad” they know where to come seize it.The typical example is cars. Any car used on public roads has to be registered. But did registration prevent car theft? What about drunk driving? Does it prevent the car from driving down the road, or being used as a getaway car? If you don’t pay the renewal, does car freeze itself up?The answer is “no” to all of the above.Think what it DOES DO! You get a tax bill every year for it, right? It’s called “registration renewal”. Where does that bill come to? Your registered address? What if your car was deemed a hazard to climate change - wouldn’t they know where to send the tow trucks to?So you sell the car. Ever sell a car but still get the registration renewal sent to you? I have. Means the buyer didn’t transfer the registration. The buyer may have since sold the car, or loaned it to his girlfriend’s sister’s boyfriend’s cousin who just used that car to rob a bank. The cops find the car, the dye-pack money with the red dye all over it, in the car. Who do you think they’re going to interrogate once they run the VIN for that car? Anyone can gin up a Bill of sale - so having one helps but proves nothing. Hope you have a good alibi and a better lawyer.Registration is a scheme to tax and confiscate. Nothing more.The Canadians had a long-gun registry. They figured about 5% of long guns in Canada appeared on it. Projected to cost millions, it actually cost Billions. When it was shown to have solved zero crimes, they abandoned it. Just think what it would have cost for 20 times the number of guns it had, all for zero crime resolution. All that fuss and bother to simply build a money (tax) pit.What if Canadians who had registered their AR15s found out one day they were illegal - particularly because they’re lousy for hunting - and had to surrender them. It happened. How would anyone know who had one unless…..ahhh yes, the registry!! Oh and if you’re an indigenous Canadian, you’re exempt as you actually DO use them to hunt, and quite successfully at that.Nothing in their experience suggests ours would be any better.
