PDF Editor FAQ

How do you handcuff a one-armed criminal?

I trained officers in what was called Defensive Tactics and taught at the NC Justice Academy and in every community college in the central and Eastern parts of the state.Handcuffing techniques are a part of officer’s professional skills and the state had several techniques that we were required to teach but there were other situations and conditions that had to be addressed creatively. One was applying cuffs on people with all sorts of problems.Handcuffing a person with one arm or one hand takes some creativity. Someone with one hand can be cuffed above the elbows or with one wristed cuffed and the other above the elbow. Some one with only one arm would have to be cuffed to his own belt, to a waist chain or even in extreme circumstances to a baton between his legs. The last, of course can be too easily slipped and then the suspect has a weapon. If an arrestee has no belt obviously something has to be found to secure the arm to the body.Another good technique is to use flex -cuffs that were invented for working mass arrests during riots or other civil disorder. We would know them a Flex-Ties now. Some officers would be willing to “hog-tie” a prisoner’s arm to his ankles but I wouldn’t ever do that nor would I be willing to teach it. It’s too risky for the prisoner and the rule for using force is to use “only the force necessary to complete the arrest.” Hog tying places the prisoner’s life in danger. Some one with one arm can be cuffed to a road sign, fence or some feature on a vehicle.Maybe other trainers or officers can add some creative ideas.

Is the United States more or less systemically racist in the 21st century than it was in the 1950s? Why or why not?

This is a very interesting question and I had to think about it for a moment.Because we all know racism was so ingrained in our culture and society. We didn’t need the police and other enforcers, because white people, and I mean the average, every day white person did a GREAT job enforcing white supremacy and racism.I mean, white people were the best at that.Look at his Confederate flag as a “counter protester”, and some of ya’ll would say that this flag isn’t racist, but some of ya’ll sure liked to fly it at protests AGAINST Civil Rights and then gaslight us and tell us it’s about your heritage. Yeah, your heritage for hate.Moving on……But suddenly the Civil Rights Movement had many wins. Schools were desegregated, Affirmative Action was the law of the land, and blacks could vote and other hard fought gains….Story over, right?Wrong. There is a word that we don’t talk enough about. We act as if the Civil Rights Movement was something White and Black America took part in TOGETHER. WE play up pics of whites and blacks marching together, but the truth is, more whites did something else other than march. It’s called MASSIVE RESISTANCE.Yeah, we don’t talk about it enough, but this is what most white people were doing when Dr. King “Had a Dream”. White people ACTIVELY worked towards dismantling the gains of the Civil Rights Movement. Massive Resistance continues til this day in FULL FORCE.From Slavery to Segregation | Equal Justice InitiativeI kind of smile when people attack me here and say that whites and blacks worked together. Yeah. There was some working, but it was often AGAINST each other.Massive resistance - WikipediaRead all about it here if you’ve never heard that term.White supremacy would rear her ugly head and continue to rear her ugly head, even today.Active resistance by whites started, as they pulled their children out of school. You stopped calling us “ni*******” (not really) but you started speaking in the same coded language that you speak in today.School choice came from school desegregation LOL. You didn't want your children going to school with black kids, so the vast majority of you yanked your kids out and put them in “segregation academies”. Poor white families were outraged because they couldn't afford it, and BOOM, school choice.Conservatives have tried to tell black parents that school choice would “help” their kids too, but black people aren’t stupid. We remember. That’s why school choice didn’t make too many inroads with black and brown parents. We saw it for what it truly was, a way to make segregation academies more affordable. But we have “school choice” still lingering around today. We still have white parents actively trying to keep black kids out of their all white schools. You fled neighborhoods that were once your stomping grounds as families that looked like mine moved into them for the hope of a better life too. But many white people wanted no part of an America that looked more like our future. This is a very interesting video…..VERY INTERESTING INDEED.Gee, why do we seem to fighting some of the same fights and some new ones too?Segregationists | Equal Justice InitiativeThese are all the segregationists that lived and fought for racial segregation until their deaths. There are buildings in the South named for some of these people whose families still have a lot of influence. Many of them have never denounced segregation.Hilarious. (Not really.)The Southern Resistance and Northern Resistance, as I’ve pointed out, is alive and well in America. When Black people scream, “Hey black lives matter! Our lives matter”. We are told, “All lives matter.”We are thrown in jail for the same things that white people are given probation for. If a “crackhead” goes to jail, a white kid on opiates go to treatment. In Heroin Crisis, White Families Seek Gentler War on DrugsYou may not be able to discriminate against me on the basis of race, but let’s travel to North Carolina, where we have what’s called the Batson Challenge or . Where you can still exclude black people from a jury by using a non racial reason!Yay!This John Oliver video explains a lot. Before you write one word in the comments trying to refute anything I have to say, watch this first.NC Supreme Court rules historically in jury race discrimination case | The Progressive PulseThe N.C. Supreme Court must stop racism in jury selection | NC Policy WatchIn fact, one of the prosecutors showed a video to it’s attorneys to show HOW to discriminate based on race!!!! LOL…I CAN’T… it’s like 6am in the morning and I haven’t had coffee.Death-Row Prisoner Alleges North Carolina Prosecutors Used Racist Training Document to Strike Black JurorsA Michigan State University study of North Carolina prosecutorial jury strikes or acceptances of more than 7,400 jurors from 173 capital cases tried over a twenty-year period showed that prosecutors across the state consistently struck African-American jurors at approximately twice the rate of other jurors. Yet a 2016 study of Batson challenges in North Carolina found that, “[i]n the 114 cases decided on the merits by North Carolina appellate courts, the courts have never found a substantive Batson violation where a prosecutor has articulated a reason for the peremptory challenge of a minority juror.”Wow. That’s all I can say. Wow.Let’s just look at this more carefully.. you can strike a juror for being “confused”, “rebellious”, “not looking at the prosecutor” “looking too hard at the prosecutor”, and even more ridiculous things. These things are going on in our country and some of you guys had no idea. I wish I could say that it’s okay, but it’s not. This answer could be book length if I include all of the other things I wanted to include. So I’ll say this, if you are not experiencing these things, YOU DON’T GET TO SAY WHETHER THINGS HAVE GOTTEN BETTER FOR BLACK PEOPLE. You don’t get to say whether racism is better, especially if you’re not experiencing it. You leave that for people who deal with this and are a much better judge of racism than some of you are.Black people are still facing huge uphill challenges post Civil Rights Movement. Some are the same challenges. Some are different challenges. It’s far from over. It’s far from done.I will never be so arrogant as to say that the struggle my mother and my father went through is the same that we’re going through. No. They had to endure an America that was quite different. There was no American Dream. There was just an American nightmare. A nightmare that my father lived as he fled to the North while a sharecropper in the South. My mother endured white women throwing their urine pans at her, because they didn’t want a “ni***** nurse” in their room. That’s the America my parents grew up in.But we face our own distinct challenges in this era. An era of gaslighting and coded language. An era still not willing to reckon with its own past or even the present. We’re told everything is all peachy keen here and there is no need for you to complain so shut up.It feels like, “we’re not beating you with batons or spraying you with water in the streets, so what are you complaining for?”Low expectations, I see. We have very low expectations about civil rights. I’m not getting beaten so what are you talking about? But black Americans know differently. How do we know? We’re still in the streets. We’ve lost a lot of our warriors but we’re still in the streets. It’s not over. It never stopped.

Should Madison Cawthorn face consequences for lying about his past before he was elected to Congress?

There should absolutely be consequences for Madison Cawthorn. It would be the first time he ever faced a consequence, ever. Justice is coming. It's gonna be lit, y'all. Here's a short list of things that Madison Cawthorn has done that present grave concerns to voters in his district:“Bribed" his way into Russia without a visa for a what was by all accounts quite the wild night of partying and gambling. But not everything that happens in Saint Petersburg stays in Saint Petersburg.During that trip he met a mysterious, Florida-based nurse practitioner, “Captain” Todd Thomason, who specializes in high-stakes gambling, bariatric anesthesia, and setting up complete strangers on blind dates.Seems Todd took a shine to Madison Cawthorn, so he did what any good friend would do. Tricked him into traveling to Florida for a fake “Crossfit” competition (Madison had his heart set on doing wheelchair pull-ups, per an interview). While the crossfit competition turned out to be faker than Fyre Festival, Todd's end goal was not to help Madison smoke the competition so much as to introduce him to the smouldering beauty (I mean that honestly-- she's very easy on the eyes; models professionally), Cristina Bayardelle. In just a few short months after Todd introduced them, Cristina became Madison Cawthorn's “African American” (his words) fiancee, with whom he someday hopes to raise his “biracial children” (again, his words). This is how Madison Cawthorn has historically dodged numerous and credible accusations of white supremacy. By using his soi-disant “black” fiancee, Cristina Bayardelle (pictured below) as a human shield.Honeypots[1]. They're not just for drizzling sweet sticky goodness over malt-o-meal, kids. They also allow you to say hateful things about *actual* black people with impunity.Madison Cawthorn was credibly accused of sexually aggressive behavior by 4 women who were his classmates at Patrick Henry College. One woman lost a chunk of her hair in his wheelchair trying to get out of his lap when he pulled her onto his crotch and started groping her. Another terrified victim described how he drove her out far into the countryside and activated the childproof locks while grilling her nonstop about her virginity. Nothing creepy bout that. His behavior shocked many classmates who witnessed it, leading nearly 200 alumni of Patrick Henry College to sign a letter condemning him when he ran for Congress. The entire student body of Patrick Henry College, for context, is about 300 people at any given time.Madison Cawthorn only lasted one semester in college. The official explanation is that he dropped out over low grades. The rumor is that he was asked to leave for another specific sexual indiscretion not mentioned explicitly in the Patrick Henry letter. (Below)Open Letter From Patrick Henry College Alumni On Madison CawthornOpen Letter From Patrick Henry College Alumni On Madison Cawthornhttps://www.scribd.com/document/480853260/Open-Letter-From-Patrick-Henry-College-Alumni-On-Madison-CawthornAfter failing out of his one semester at “God's Harvard" Patrick Henry College, Cawthorn had some time on his hands. He also had a big pile of money from suing the pants off his 'best friend” (more on this later…). So he cooked up a whole story about Paralympic trials. That was complete horseshit, too, of course.Actual Paralympians Think Madison Cawthorn's Paralympics Posts Are BullshitRepublican congressman Madison Cawthorn, one of the youngest racists to hold elected office is consistently full of absolute shit. Among the many falsehoods reportedly told by Cawthorn as he propped himself up as the star child of the GOP was a very casual lie about training for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, which actual Paralympians found adorable according to The Nation. One athlete, Amanda McGrory who medaled seven times at the Paralympics compared Cawthorn’s claims that he was training for the Paralympics to that of a “kid saying they want to play in the NBA when they’re on their fourth-grade basketball team.”https://jezebel.com/actual-paralympians-think-madison-cawthorns-paralympics-1846109488Madison Cawthorn was found “roaming senate offices” late at night on January 5, just hours before the Capitol insurrection. The senate was not in session on that day. (We know this happened because he tweeted about it). He never fully explained what that was about, and to date no journalist has held his feet to the fire on this issue. The people of NC 11 deserve to know what he did and who he talked to.We do know that he was up bright and early, dressed convincingly like an SS officer, to rile up the insurrectionists the next day.“This crowd has some fight in it"He then rolled back to Congress, changed into a more politically appropriate American business suit, and tweeted at the insurrectionists from inside the Capitol. While armed with at least one weapon.GOP Rep. Madison Cawthorn Was Armed With Gun During Insurrection He Helped InciteRep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) said he was armed with a gun during the Jan. 6 attack on Capitol Hill by supporters of President Donald Trump , many of whom came from a rally where Cawthorn spoke earlier in the day. Speaking to the Smoky Mountain News a day after the violence, Cawthorn said he was on the House floor when lawmakers were notified to evacuate as a mob of Trump supporters began to pour into the Capitol. “Fortunately, I was armed, so we would have been able to protect ourselves,” Cawthorn told the publication. A spokesperson for the first-term lawmaker also confirmed to HuffPost that Cawthorn was carrying a gun the day of the siege. “It’s Congressman Cawthorn’s general posture to practice his 2nd Amendment rights, as well as the rights afforded to him as a member of Congress,” the spokesperson said in an emailed statement on Wednesday. A 1967 regulation exempts members of Congress from a federal law banning firearms on the Capitol grounds, though the weapons are still banned on the House floor. It’s unclear if Cawthorn had his gun on the floor, and Capitol Police did not immediately respond to a request for comment from HuffPost. “Congressman Cawthorn also abides by all Capitol Police regulations that he is informed of,” Cawthorn’s spokesperson added. Just hours before the mob attack, Cawthorn ― who has previously sparked outrage for his visit to Adolf Hitler’s vacation retreat in 2017 ― was at a “Stop the Steal” rally in D.C. to encourage Trump supporters to reject the results of the 2020 presidential election. “There is a new Republican Party on the rise that will represent this country, that will go and fight in Washington, D.C.,” he told the crowd, according to the Asheville Citizen Times . “My friends, I encourage you, continue to make your voice heard, because, do we love Donald Trump?” And in December, Cawthorn spoke at a Turning Point USA event urging conservatives to “lightly threaten” lawmakers who have accepted that Joe Biden will be the 46th president. “Call you congressman and feel free, you can lightly threaten them and say: ‘You know what, if you don’t start supporting election integrity, I’m coming after you. Madison Cawthorn is coming after you. Everybody’s coming after you.’” Five people died in last week’s violence, including a Capitol Hill police officer who was pepper sprayed and bludgeoned with a fire extinguisher by the crowd of insurrectionists. Trump is set to face his second impeachment for his role in sparking the violence. Meanwhile, multiple Republican lawmakers have balked at the idea of increased security at the Capitol, including being asked to walk through a metal detector when entering the building.https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5fff2597c5b691806c4ea2bc/ampHe has yet to answer for any of his actions on this hateful day.Madison Cawthorn beats random trees to a pulp for no good reason, brags about it on instagram, and then deletes the video when people ask “wtf"?Madison Cawthorn appears in resurfaced video, fighting a treeA newly posted viral video shows Rep. Cool story, bro.Madison Cawthorn not only lied about his “best friend” Brad Ledford leaving him “to die in a fiery tomb" (2014 automobile accident returning from Spring Break AFTER receiving a Naval Academy rejection letter). He then went ahead and sued the poor kid. Twice. For millions and millions of dollars. If it weren't for Brad Ledford pulling Cawthorn's sorry ass out of that BMW SUV, Cawthorn might have had the opportunity to experience a fiery tomb first hand. In the Navy, we have a term of endearment for “friends” like Madison: Blue Falcon.blue falcon - WiktionaryEtymology Edit From the same initial letters as "buddy-fucker." blue falcon ( plural blue falcons ) ( US , military , euphemistic ) A supposed comrade whose actions harm his friends, often but not always, for his own benefit. 2013 , Jeff Rose, Soldier of Finance: Take Charge of Your Money and Invest in Your Future , AMACOM Div American Mgmt Assn, →ISBN , page 26 : We had a term in the military for a soldier who was not a good Battle Buddy. He was a "Blue Falcon." That rather odd name is an attempt to clean up a much more graphic term. The initials for Blue Falcon, "BF", were originally the first letters of a term I'll refrain from printing here. Let's just say that the "B" stood for "Buddy" and the "F" stood for a classic word of profanity. A BF was someone who screwed his buddies. We just called them Blue Falcons. 2007 , David Axe, Army 101: Inside ROTC in a Time of War , Univ of South Carolina Press, page 31: To them, he's a Blue Falcon, a derogatory euphemism for "buddy-fucker." Blue Falcons are great soldiers when the commander's watching.
