Why does my family doctor say all medical schools are alike? Does that make sense?

Yes, all medical schools are pretty much alike. The curriculum is the same. The medical board exams are the same (and nationally normed across the entire USA so your Step One scores will be compared with all other medical students in the country.)Most of the hands on training comes from residency. Your intellectual training depends exclusively upon your own work ethic, no matter which medical school you attend.HOWEVER:There is knock down, drag out, full on battle to get accepted to the “top ten” medical schools. For this reason, the top medical schools are filled with the best students. (Equally good students exist at every medical school, but other medical schools are not filling the entire class with these top students). This is why many top schools have eliminated “grades.” They don’t want to see bloodshed.Because the top ten schools are filled with “only” the elite students, they will be looked at by residency program directors simply by virtue of their membership in the elite medical school class. This means, realistically, that the “chances of getting the top residency” is greater for students who graduate from “top medical schools.”If you are going to be a family practitioner, there is truly no difference in which medical school you attend. Family practice residencies are actually ANTI elitist. They don’t care where you went to school, they are more interested in where you hope to practice. They want to see you serve in their area, their state, with their people who need doctors. Many FPs are interested in mission work, charity work, and community volunteerism.I never have had a patient ask me where I went to medical school. Some patients will probably look that up online.

You are to be locked in a room for 100 years with no light, sound, or other people. You cannot age, be harmed, and don't require food, water, or sleep. You can pick one video game to pass that time, which one is it?

I honestly wasn't going to answer this one however after reading lots of other people's answers I feel like I need to contribute to this discussion.I've seen a lot, and I mean A LOT of answers suggesting they would choose an open world RPG like Skyrim or Red Dead Redemption II and they say "oh it would take me at least a few years to complete everything and all the easter eggs". However, we seem to be forgetting that we've got ONE HUNDRED YEARS to play with here!! No sleep, no food or water, no direct social interaction whatsoever... In reality, you would 100% Skyrim in barely a month or two. Same goes for Red Dead II, Witcher 3 etc. If you can't sleep you're never going to feel tired and you've got 24 hours a day to fill...After 100 years you will be a god at this game. Whichever game you choose will be your entire life and existence. You will know it so astoundingly well, be so familiar with every minuscule yet fictitious detail that even the developers would seem blind compared to you. That's why you're going to want to pick a game with a very high skill ceiling, and a game that has infinite replayability. The games that come to mind for me are online FPS's or other online competitive style games that are constantly evolving and allow you to continually refine your skills and controls until you are the best player in the world. Let's take Overwatch and Rocket League for example. One of the biggest phycological problems you will encounter during your 100 years will be the repetitiveness and loneliness you feel from playing the same game alone for 100 years. By choosing a game like Overwatch you'll be guaranteed two major things. New content, and online play. The introduction of new maps, characters/heroes and gameplay changes means although you'll be playing the same basic routine each match the game itself isn't going to get stagnant as easily as an RPG because things will keep changing the more you play. Change can be refreshing when you're stuck doing the same monotonous thing for such a long time so that should help make the game more enjoyable. Same thing goes for Rocket League with new maps, car decals, promotions like the Rocket Pass and different gamemodes. As for the online aspect, this will be your primary form of social interaction for the next 100 years. I don't know whether the game will be restricted by your captives to prevent you from sending any detailed messages to the outside world however just being able to read the chat and interact with other human beings will quickly become your biggest joy and far outweigh the game itself. So whichever game we pick, it should definitely be online and include a way to interact with other players. This will help SO MUCH. Rocket League and Overwatch both include this in different shapes and forms.Additionally, you have to remember these games are popular for a reason. They're addictive. Each 5-minute game is carefully constructed by teams of people to get you hooked, addicted even, so that you'll keep coming back for more. I've played Rocket League for literally hours at a time without feeling the slightest bit of boredom. Yes, in the short run an Assasins Creed or Red Dead Redemption is going to be more entertaining however after a few months they will get incredibly repetitive, bland and boring very quickly. In the long run though, a good FPS or competitive online game can continue to draw you in even after tens of thousands of hours of playtime, which is conveniently exactly what we want in this scenario!!To become a good freestyler in Rocket League you'd have to spend thousands of hours practising and learning car control. The time you have available combined with the fact that you'll be playing non-stop means the potential to learn incredibly precise car control is definitely there. Same thing goes for hero mechanics in Overwatch. I pick these two examples because I’ve recently played them both however there’s so many other games out there to choose from with the same requirements it would differ from person to person.TL;DNRRight, I'm rambling now however you have four main options really.Choose a game that's online for social interaction, has a high skill ceiling so you can spend thousands of hours refining your technique, mechanics and playstyles and is addictively repetitive so you won’t get bored of it in the long run.Choose some kind of meta game that teaches you how to learn a language, teaches you about ancient history, helps you learn politics etc. This use of learning games could keep you sane for a very long time and give you real-world skills when you are finally released.Decide on a fitness game ala Wii, Virtual Reality, Kinect etc. They say a healthy body is a healthy mind so it makes sense that one of the best ways to keep yourself sane for 100 years would be to dedicate that time to training your body and keeping active. Plus when you get out you’ll have a gym body 100 years in the making!Try to get around the rules by asking for a game from the future. Anybody with the power to make you immortal and keep you in a room to play games for 100 years is probably powerful enough to exist outside of our definition of time and space or at least transdimensionally. Therefore if they allow this you could choose a game that's hundreds of years in the future running on far superior technology that includes years worth of content for you to play. This might be more than enough to satisfy even the most demanding of gamers for hundreds of years.Honestly, I could go into depth about these other two options however I think I’ll let another commenter handle that and just stick to what I’ve got. Thanks for reading and leave a comment down below about what you think would be the best choice of game if you were stuck in a room for 100 years!!

How do you use propane on a green gas airsoft gun?

Using propane in your green gas gun is super easyStep 1:Buy a propane adapterIt’ll look like this (this is the one I own), and can be either plastic or metal. The metal ones are sturdier and will last longer, while the plastic ones are cheaper. I have heard that using a metal adapter can damage your valve, but I have filled my magazines plenty of times with no breakage. They usually run from $15–20.Step 2:Buy some 100% silicone oilAlso the type I own. This runs for $5 for a small can or bottle. 100% is not necessary, 80 or 90% works just fine, as long as there is no petroleum inside (no WD-40). Petroleum will eat away at your seals and kill your gun! You can choose between a spray bottle (pictured above), or a small dropper bottle. The spray bottle is slightly easier for actually lubricating the gun (which should be done every month or two), but I think the dropper bottle is better, as it allows for easier, cleaner lubing of valves, which should be done often. It also is better for filling the adapter, which is the main reason you should purchase this stuff. Many adapters will have a small, unscrewable fill port, which allows easy filling of the adapter with silicone oil. If yours doesn’t, just pour some oil in the top of your propane can before screwing the adaptor on. Without proper lubrication, seals can dry out and leak!Step 3:Actually using the stuffFirstly, make sure that you have a can of propane like the one pictured above. If it is different, the adaptor may not fit. If you do not have one, they can be purchased for ~$4 a can at Walmart.Secondly, fill the top of the bottle with oil. If your adapter has a fill port, skip this step.Thirdly, screw your adapter onto the bottle.Fourthly, if you skipped step two, open the oil fill port and fill the adapter with oil.Now it’s time to actually fill the magazine with gas. To fill the magazine, hold the mag with the gold colored gas fill port facing up. Then, with the propane can facing downwards, insert the nozzle of the adapter into the port. Then, firmly press the can down into the valve, but not too hard. On some valves, you may hear the gas fizzing and see it coming out of the nozzle while filling, and on others it may be completely silent. Depending on your magazine size, you may have to hold the nozzle in there for 3–10 seconds. For example, a tiny 15 round 1911 mag shouldn’t take more than 3–4 seconds of fillingHowever, a large extended 50 round Glock mag should take 10 or more seconds to fillMy 30 round standard Hi Capa mags take about 7 seconds to fillSometimes, when your magazine is full, you’ll start to hear a lot of sputtering and fizzing, and some (really cold) liquid propane may leak out of the nozzle. That means it’s time to remove the nozzle from your magazine. To test whether any gas made it into your magazine, lightly press the gold+silver valve located near the top of the magazine. If the valve presses into the magazine with little to no resistance, you didn’t fill the magazine properly. If a light press is met with heavy resistance, and the valve refuses to move, congratulations, there is gas in the magazine! If you are having issues filling, I’m sure that someone at your field has some experience and would be willing to help you. It takes some getting used to!As a side note, you may not know the pros and cons of propane compared to green gas, so I wrote a listProsMuch cheaper and easier to find. Propane is available in large cans for a few bucks at Walmart, while green gas is available in small cans for $10+ at airsoft stores or online.Higher pressure. Propane’s slightly higher pressure means slightly higher FPS (usually around 10–15 FPS higher), as well as better performance in cold weatherMany uses. Propane can be used for its intended purpose, burning and cooking as well as for airsoftConsSmell. Propane is not pleasant to the nostrils, but you get used to it rather quicklyNo integrated lubrication. Propane is not infused with silicone oil like green gas. Adding oil to your adapter does help a lot, but I find green gas to be slightly better at keeping seals intactBigger cans. In a pinch, green gas cans can be lugged onto the field in case you run dry, due to their rather small size and low weight. Propane cans, not so muchHigher pressure. This is a double edged sword. Firstly, it can bumb a field-legal gun over the FPS limit. Secondly, it puts slightly more stress on your gun’s parts. I find this not to be a very pressing issue, the only exception being with plastic slide guns. I advise not running propane with any plastic slide pistols, as it will only decrease the already low lifespan of the slide. Many people also advise against running normal green gas in stock Tokyo Marui pistols, as those pistols are meant to be used with low PSI gases like duster gas or low PSI HPA.So, there you have it. A (rather long) guide to using propane in your airsoft gun!
