The biggest scandal? Senior year and some student group and Moms against drunk driving decided to put on a show about drunk driving. They blocked off the street near the school, brought in a real smashed up car of a boy from our school who died in a drunk driving accident a year before (the car looked identical but it may not have been his) and two of these group members got into the car and acted out their ‘last breaths.’ nobody knew this was going to happen (the student body) and for a lot of us, it was horrible. I wont explain it because it was tasteless and I'll tell you more why in a minute.Afterwards, they took us into the gym and there they made up a life for these two fictional characters including putting them in body bags, having their parents come and see them dead, and doing a makeshift wake.Beside me three people broke out crying. Remember the boy who I said died a year before this. Two of the people crying were in the car with him. They were all sober but the person who hit him was drunk. He was a kind wonderful kid and a great musician.The other girl crying was crying for another story. She had a toddler slibling die from drowning. She was crying because she remembered the coroner putting him in a body bag.Not only that but at lunch, the actors painted their faces white and wore ghost like outfits and carried crosses, going to people and talking about how painful their deaths were.Now what upset me was these actors were seniors in our school. They and the stupid group planned this and didnt think they should give out permission forms or even let parents and students know what was going on so those who may be sensitive to death or car crashes can I dont know like stay home or have a classroom they could go to or something. That was the biggest scandal was this assembly and how they gave no warnings so people can decide to go or not.Funny enough, I can’t remember much of the presentation but I remember the crying around me and how upset I and my friends felt.

I will assume you’re a genius and can prove it with the part-time hobby projects you keep doing, like the large hadron collider oscillator or the warp drive control circuit, or maybe the flux capacitor you were soldering last night.People want proof of skills, not documentation of skillsIf you can show projects and finished products you’ve made you are likely to get into a production job DIRECTLY after BTech (no matter the institute); if you cannot the chance is very lowIf you have even one top-notch production level project as a freelancer / friend’s company / experimental hobby project that can prove your strengths.Even if you are a genius level person, chances areYou will have a minimum 6–8 months probation during which all your work will be closely observed and NOT released into productionYou will see unnecessary delays in your work while the bureaucracy plays out in terms of permission forms, approvals, asset/tool/parts requisitions, endless debates on why your new knowledge is better than age-old-proven-till-the-cows-came-home knowledgeLet me give you an example of myself - not because I’m a genius; but because I’ve been fortunate to create some really amazing software (for a friend’s company) that boosted my skills far beyond my natural talent:I programmed an Operating System - multi tasking, graphical UI, with integrated mapping and graphics capabilities. From scratch. Using only TASM and no higher level languages. In terms of difficulty its at least a 12 out of 10. Nobody would DREAM about starting a project like that - but I made one for a metal cutting machine.What did it get me? NOTHING.I programmed an 8085 Emulator - something that helped a lot of my fellow Bsc Physics students out in terms of improving their skills (it’s a final year theory paper and this helped them score well). Well received and well used.What did it get me? NOTHING. Today most of them don’t even remember it. The teaching staff still do… But that’s all my work is - a memory.Why did these things not pick up? Simple - I had NO EXPERIENCE. Same as you are today… and that hurt my chances a lot.My suggestion would be - go ahead and try, it never hurts to try. But people will value your input / creations / advice / consultation more once you have proven experience in the field.“Put” you on a production job? Just prove yourself and they will “Beg” you to take the production job. Hope this helps you to do exactly that.

Welcome to the bane of having a licenced teen in the house.Way back in the day, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, insurance companies offered a rider called 'No occasional driver under the age of 25′ or such other age minimum. The policy holder declared that they would not permit anyone under the age limit to drive their cars. Scout's honor, pinky promise, on my dearly departed grandmother's grave.Guess what? Like people really always obeyed this restriction. Insurance companies got forced to pay claims by the courts even with the rider, and though they could sue the policyholder to recover the money, the point of the rider was not to have to pay in the first place.So insurance companies started rating policies based on the highest risk driver who lived in the home. Some will make exception to this policy if the teen had their own car and insurance.Talk with your company about your options. It may be cheaper for your teen to own his or her own car with just a liability policy than to piggyback on your policy as an occasional driver. Also, there's nothing wrong with requiring them to get a job and contribute to the costs of car ownership if they want to drive. If they won't, don't sign the permission form, they'll have to wait until 18 or 21 to get their licence.
