After 4 months of planning everything was ready. I arrived to Aruba 2 hours before my fiancé.Most of the passengers were Argentines, some Colombians and I was the only Venezuelan. It only took them 1 minute to go through immigration.When it was my turn, the officer started asking the questions:"Which is the reason for your visit?"My wedding and honeymoon will be here in 1 week."What kind of work do you have in your country?"I'm a doctor."How long are you going to stay here"20 days."Do you have a reservation?"I showed our Airbnb reservation."Do you have a return ticket?"I showed my return ticket."Do you have dollars?"I showed cash and my international credit card."Why do you stay in an Airbnb and not in a 5-star hotel?""My fiancé and I always stay on Airbnb no matter which country we travel to, it's more private and comfortable, and we enjoy cooking for each other, some hotels don't offer a fully equipped kitchen", I said."Nobody stays on Airbnb, that's very suspicious", she said.She started talking with her supervisor in Papiamento. It was very easy to understand what they were saying.The supervisor was very rude. She had a very angry face and voice."Why are you coming to get married here in Aruba? Even for the locals it's a very difficult process"I explained that we hired a wedding planner and she helped us with the entire legal procedure. I showed them all of our emails, my personal documents with apostille. I gave them her phone number so they could confirm the information."Is rare. Foreigners don't come to get married here. I think you're lying", she said."With all due respect officer, Aruba is sold as a place to have a destination wedding. Even on the customs card there is a checklist to select the purpose of the visit and the first option is destination wedding", I said.She started screaming at me and saying that I called her ignorant. I waited 2 hours. I cried a lot thinking that we would have to cancel our wedding. Finally my fiancé, now husband, arrived. He told me not to worry.We went back to the officer.My husband gave his passport.She put the stamp immediately.She didn't ask anything.She told him (not me) that she regretted what happened. And said welcome to Aruba.She didn't even look at me.I must say that it wasn't my first trip abroad, my passport has all the stamps of previous trips, including Europe. Unfortunately, due to the situation in my country, when the authorities see a Venezuelan passport they include you in the refugee category. Wonders of communism!

This question reminded me of, not the rudest thing a guest did to a pet, but the most thoughtful.When I got married, my parents hosted a backyard, tent wedding. My mother was an event/wedding planner, so it was absolutely beautiful in every way. We hired her BEST catering chefs and their crew. They parked a service truck in the driveway, but they also used our kitchen for food prep. The ceremony was held on our dock, and the celebration began immediately following and continued the rest of the afternoon. In the middle of our festivities, someone from the catering crew found me to ask where we kept the cat food, because there was a very hungry black cat in the kitchen. Instead of telling him where to find it, I actually took a break from the party and went inside to feed Chaka, myself. I just wanted to have a little time with her (the florist had tied a little yellow rose to her collar for the day, and she looked adorable).Anyway, I’ll never forget how sweet and thoughtful all the hired staff was to my Chaka girl that day. She had a house full of strange sights, sounds and smells, and everyone was very considerate of her.PS. Somewhere I have a picture of me in my wedding dress, holding Chaka with her yellow rose attached.PPS. After that day, my mother added “make arrangements for pet care” to her client checklists!
