Rooms:Housing at FLAME University is relatively much better than the other colleges in India.Essentially there are two choices that a student can make at the time of application - opt for the non AC normal room, or pay slightly more and get an AC room.For the non-AC rooms, there are villa style houses, known as the East Housing Blocks, where in each wing, there is 1 bathroom and 3–5 rooms that are allotted to pairs - and to the lucky few - singles. There are also apartment style blocks, known as the West Housing Blocks, where each wing has 3 rooms (again, two people in each) and a shared bathroom. I personally prefer the West Housing Blocks are it allows for more interaction between students of all batches.Currently there is only one block that has AC rooms, which offers both single and double rooms. Since this block was built just last year, the rooms and amenities are much better.Each room has a cupboard, drawer, and desk for each person, with a mirror either inside the room or outside in the shared common area. Most rooms also have balconies, which allows you to appreciate the FLAME’s picturesque location, being surrounded by green hills. Bathrooms come with 2 showers cubicles, 2 sinks, and 2–3 water closets, and even a large drying stand to be shared between all the people sharing the bathroom. As compared to the other colleges that I had visited during college application season, FLAME University definitely had better facilities than the rest.Accessibility:Since the campus is in the heart of a valley outside Pune, coming to FLAME is a task. However, the 4 daily shuttle buses provided to FLAME students and faculty, that picks up and drops off students at FC Road in Pune City, allows students to go to the city as per their requirements. Students also regularly use Uber to commute to and from the city, if the bus timings don’t match with their schedule.Safety:In terms of safety, the campus is as safe as can be - with students, admin, staff and faculty requiring both their ID cards AND their biometric fingerprint to be accepted to get in and out of the campus. If the students’ biometric isn’t logged into the campus by 12am in the night (and a mail hasn’t been sent to the wardens informing them about the off-campus overnight stay), a mail is sent out to the parents alerting them that their ward is out of campus. Each batch of students is divided and allotted to the two female wardens and three male wardens that live on campus and are available 24/7 in case of any emergency.Male and female guards are scattered all across campus, but are concentrated around the housing blocks - especially at night.There is also an infirmary, convenience store, laundry service and laundromat available to the students to make college life in FLAME easier.

I live in Gaza, or what I prefer to call: Gaza Strip. Gaza Strip has four major cities:Gaza CityDeir al-BalahKhan YunisRafah.Currently, I live in Gaza City, but originally I'm from Rafah in the south, which is the city that share the borders with Egypt.I work as a web application engineer at the Ministry of Health, so I wake up early in the morning at 07:00. I walk to work since I rented an apartment close to work.I finish work at 14:30, go back home and eat lunch, then I spend the rest of the afternoon with my family, and sometimes I go to the supermarket to buy some groceries. After sunset I start working on some side projects and on some freelancing jobs. I have to, since I didn't get my salary for the past one year and a half year on account of the political crisis between Hamas and Fatah.I used to go to the gym after the sunset. Yep, we have gyms.​​On the weekends, we have three options: restaurants, parks and the beach.Gaza Strip is very small, it's only 360 km² so we get bored easily. Restaurants menus are similar and there is no diversity in the food and the experience, no sushi. :(Parks are small and crowded. The beach may be the only breather in Gaza, but you won't see beach amenities in Gaza plus it's very congested in the summer.I always say this phrase to my friends: "If you have one billion dollars in Gaza, what is the best fun that you can have here? Just go to a fancy restaurant!!", so no we don't have skydiving here. :(The blockade has a major effect on Gazans life. When you go to work, you'll hear power generators buzzing. If you need to establish a business, the first thing you want to do is to purchase a power generator. And believe me they are not cheap.Most people can't afford power generators, and we have electricity just for six hours per day, and sometimes you spend the whole day without electricity.Israel prevented a lot of goods from entering Gaza, and one of them is cement. Guys like me are stuck with rent because there are no cement available in Gaza to build our houses. The construction work is semi-dead here and thousands of construction workers are unemployed now.Some additional points to add:Traveling? Hell no, no airport, no seaport, and the borders are closed.Going to the West Bank? No, you just can't. You are forbidden.How about buying an iPhone from Amazon or eBay? Big NO: electronics via mail are forbidden too.How about war? Yes, we will give you that. Every two years we will give you a war and will let you live in fear, it's good for your health and self-esteem.My last points may be irrelevant to the question, but they are definitely affecting the regular day for someone living in Gaza. This is a good question. Although, I am not sure about the context of it. There are some things that came to mind. They are specific to Gaza and may or may not applicable to West Bank too.When you decide to open a business, the first thing to think of is purchasing a power generator.This is the main street in the downtown of Gaza city, Those red things are power generators, every store has one of these. They are so annoying.It's too normal to see truck batteries in any house stairwell.If a Gazan wants to travel to a country, he has to travel to Egypt first, and people from West Bank have to travel to Jordan first.Most of Gazans never went to West Bank. To demonstrate, it's like a French person from Paris never went to Marseille, Not like he choose not to go, but he is actually forbidden. It's work the same way for people in West Bank.We have two governments, it sounds bizarre, but it's literally true.We don't have a currency, We use another countries' currency.The Palestinian passport is one of the worst passports one can hold.This is the worst 5 passports in the world (Source: Passport Index - World's passports ranked by power.)Despite the fact that our passport is so weak, The process of getting a visa to Europe or USA is maybe much easier than waiting the borders to be opened.There are an extra field on every Palestinian birth certificate, under birthdate and Mother Name, there is "Original Town", This field contains the original town of the person's family where they fled from in the 1948 war.When you decide to get married. There is a high chance that you would be rejected by the woman's family because of the "Original Town" thing.We have two football leagues. (One in Gaza and One in the West Bank).Palestinians suffer from stereotyping a lot. Palestine is so different than Palestine that you see in the news.Other than that, we eat, drink, work and breath normally. But with a lump in the heart and a fear in the eyes.
