How and why did the USA become so rich and powerful? Why aren't countries from Asia and Europe more advanced all together than the USA? It's a fairly new country compared to the countries of Europe and Asia.

Finally slavery gets a few mentions. After a month or so, and twelve responses. The responses mentioned:· Land & natural resources· Stable, educated working aged population· Navigable rivers and protective oceans· Only two borders· Leveraging of the ‘age of enlightenment’· And some things being invented from ‘thin air’· Anglo-Norman culture· And enterprising settlers escaping war ravaged Europe· And probably some themes that I missed. Most of these are undeniable contributions to America’s wealth. Some of these points focus on post-colonial period, or post-WWII… and that’s also valid. But strikingly, not until recently did anyone mention slavery (and indentured servitude of all kinds) as a basic component and enabler of many of these.250 years of labor from millions of slaves was missing from the discussion of these and other wealth-contributing factors that I’ll not cover in this post (e.g. seizure of valuable American indian lands, Chinese/slave-like labor on railroads, seizing a part of Mexico and the Northwest territories among them) So here are a few things that I’ve found about slavery and the creation of wealth in the U.S.:Several modern day insurance companies and banks built a portion of their wealth on the business of slavery. Many of original companies have been acquired or otherwise absorbed by firms such as Aetna or Wells Fargo. They were in business of slave life insurance, underwriting slave ships, accepting slaves as loan collateral (and sometimes foreclosing)…. Just like any other property would be treated. From a May 5, 2002 NYTimes article about a law suit against Aetna:''It's not pleasant to talk about it today, to put it mildly, but slaves were insured just like any other thing that the farmers owned, that the slave owners owned,'' said Tom Baker, director of the Insurance Law Center at the University of Connecticut School of Law. ''If you were selling insurance in slave states to people who had plantations, that was one of the things that you sold.''It was very common,'' he added. ''Basically, insurance and slavery go all the way back as far as American history.''In my research, I’ve found claims documented in multiple sources of other modern day institutions and/or their predecessor companies’ involvement (contributing to their capitalization and wealth in their early formulations):AIG – bought American General Financial, which owns US Life Insurance Company. US Life used to insure the lives of slaves.Aetna – insured the lives of slaves in the 1850s.Bank of America – grew in part out of the Bank of Metropolis, which accepted slaves as collateral.Brooks Brothers – got its start making clothes for slaves.Brown Brothers Harriman – a Wall Street bank that owned hundreds of slaves and lent millions to Southern planters, merchants and cotton traders.Brown University – named for the Brown brothers who gave money to the university. Two
were slave traders, another ran a factory that used slave-grown cotton. University Hall was built in part by slave labour.Fleet Boston – grew out of Providence Bank, founded by one of the Brown brothers (see Brown University above), a slave trader who owned slave ships. The bank made money from the slave trade.Harvard Law School – endowed with money from Isaac Royall, an Antiguan slave owner and sugar grower.JP Morgan Chase – made a fortune from the slave trade. Predecessor banks (Citizens Bank, Canal Bank in Louisiana) accepted slaves as collateral, taking possession of 1,250 slaves from owners who defaulted on loans.New York Life – insured slaves. Of its first 1,000 insurance polices, 339 were policies on slaves.Norfolk Southern – the Mobile & Girard, now part of Norfolk Southern, rented slaves to work on the railroad. Central of Georgia, also now part of the company, owned slaves.Princeton – raised money and recruited students from rich, slave-owning families in the South and the Caribbean. Princeton was not alone in hitting up slave owners and traders for money and students. So did:Harvard, Yale, Penn, Columbia, Rutgers,
Brown,
Dartmouth and the University of Delaware. By the middle 1700s, most Princeton students were the sons of slave owners. Many of Columbia’s students were sons of slave traders.Tiffany’s – founded with profits from a cotton mill in Connecticut that processed slave-grown cotton.Wells Fargo – Georgia Railroad & Banking Company and the Bank of Charleston owned or accepted slaves as collateral. They later became part of Wells Fargo by way of Wachovia.Yale University – money from slave trading went to its first endowed scholarships, professorship and library. Most major industries in the antebellum period had some of it’s beginnings based on, or “kickstarted” by cheap cotton, a robust shipping fleet, railroads, insurance and other finance, non-cotton agriculture, and the Atlantic/European slave trade cycle in general (sugar/rum, cotton/manufactured clothes, slaves/labor).“In the pre-Civil War United States, a stronger case can be made that slavery played a critical role in economic development. One crop, slave-grown cotton provided over half of all U.S. export earnings. By 1840, the South grew 60 percent of the world's cotton and provided some 70 percent of the cotton consumed by the British textile industry. Thus slavery paid for a substantial share of the capital, iron, and manufactured good that laid the basis for American economic growth. In addition, precisely because the South specialized in cotton production, the North developed a variety of businesses that provided services for the slave South, including textile factories, a meat processing industry, insurance companies, shippers and cotton brokers” *I anticipate that some will reject some or all of these claims out-of-hand, or acknowledge them but disconnect them from today’s America. Logic of capitalism holds that labor is one of the major resource components of capitalism, and reinvestment of retained revenue/profit is a major basis for wealth creation and retention. So then it would follow that 250 years of labor from 500K?, 1M? 2M? slaves in America created value for those who had the knowledge and means to leverage that labor to create value (surplus income, profit, reinvestment, growth and retained earnings in the traditional cycle of capitalism). That value did not vanish, but was absorbed, magnified and passed down to inheritor companies and families.I’m confident the debate over slavery's contribution to modern-day America will continue, with individual points verified or vilified. There are/were recent legal proceedings from which some of these points are taken, there are academic studies on the Atlantic slave trade, and attempts to fix a value of slavery’s contribution to the world and U.S. economy. There are contemporary narratives and recent research attempting to identify, quantify and understand the lasting positive contribution of slavery in building the U.S. into the world power that it is.* http://www.gilderlehrman.org/history-by-era/slavery-and-anti-slavery/resources/was-slavery-engine-american-economic-growthSources:The Case for ReparationsThe Incomplete List of US Companies & Universities That Benefited From Black Slavery5 Things About Slavery You Probably Didn't Learn In Social StudiesAmerican finance grew on the back of slaves - ChicagoHOW CORPORATE WEALTH WAS BUILT ON THE BACKS OF ACTUAL SLAVESCorporations challenged by reparations activists15 Major Corporations You Never Knew Profited from Slavery - Page 6 of 8 - Atlanta BlackstarNorthern Profits from Slavery

Is Taiwan part of or separate from China?

The recent Hong Kong issue reminds many people of the relationship between the mainland and Taiwan. Many people are confused about it.Why is the mainland so stubborn to recover Taiwan? Why can't we forgive Taiwan's independence?I will apply it to the relevant knowledge I have learned to give a comprehensive explanation. This will be a detailed, complete and readable article. It strives to be able to give a comprehensive overview of China's Taiwan issue from various perspectives in simple language. This is the reading catalogue. I will elaborate on the following points:the practical value of TaiwanI scientific and Technological Value:1 semiconductor production,2 panel production,3 precision machinery,4 other,II The cultural value of Taiwanthe history and connection of Taiwan and Chinese civilization1 history,2 Culture, the strategic significance of Taiwan's geographical edge, analysis and views on this. This will be a longer article, you can choose to read it. At the same time, a large number of professional materials have been translated in the article. Everyone can revise and quote them. Before starting this article. I will quote in three sentences.Von Clausewitz, the founder of modern western war theory and the author of "on war", once said :war is the continuation of politics.Marx, the founder of the Communist Party and the author of capital, once said:the economic foundation determines the superstructure.British Prime Minister and imperialist BA maizun once said: we have no eternal alliances, and we have no permanent enemies. Our interests are eternal and permanent, and those interests it is our duty to follow. All political activities and economic decisions revolve around these three "truths". Finally, my comments will also reflect the practical application of these three truths.**the practical value of Taiwan**I scientific and Technological Value1.semiconductor production:Taiwan is the world's largest IC manufacturing region and the second largest IC design region. Its well-known enterprises, such as TSMC, accounted for 56% of the global market in 2017. As of April 19, 2018, TSMC of US stock has a market value of US $217.4 billion. Its 7Nm EUV process is the most advanced chip process in the world.Qualcomm , apple a series and Huawei Kirin, the world's largest mobile phone chip products, are all manufactured by TSMC. Among them, Huawei's Hisilicon Kirin chip is the pride of China's chip industry, and TSMC determines whether Huawei's chip can be produced. TSMC has announced the start of research and development of the 2nm process, becoming the world's first chip manufacturing company to develop this process.Taiwan MediaTek, the world's top five chip companies, supplies a large number of electronic chips to Xiaomi, oppo, Huawei and other mainland brands. In 2017, the third largest market in the world, although the market share has declined in recent years, it is still possible to rise in the 5g era.Yamao technology, the world's largest manufacturer of military RF chips, is the only manufacturer that can provide sub micron (90 nanometer) Gan T / R module chips. Yamao also has the technical ability to manufacture GaAs, silicon carbide, germanium nitride and other special military semiconductors.2. panel productionHon Hai Precision(SHARP) is the world's largest electronic product OEM. It is also the largest panel manufacturer in the world. Its Qun Chuang (INNOLUX)+ sharp is a global champion in four fields of production capacity, shipment volume, shipment area and revenue.3 precision machineryTaiwan's high-precision industrial machine tools play an important role in the global industrial chain. Its well-known enterprises such as Youjia group(FFG), the third largest precision machine tool manufacturer in the world (by revenue). If the share of five axis and above high-precision machine tools is taken, Youjia group's global share is more than 37%, ranking first. In addition, there are Dongtai Jingji and so on.4.otherThere are the world's first AIDS specific drug, monoclonal antibody tmb355 (TaiWan Zhongyu new drug company), the world's first fluoroquinolones (ninofloxacin, TaiWan Taijing company) for the treatment of super bacteria Mars infection, etc. and TaiWan occupies a key position in the supply chain of industrial automation, medical technology, information communication, semiconductor, petrochemical, materials, aerospace, etc Position.Distribution of new investment in semiconductor industry in the worldTherefore, it can be seen that although China's high-tech industry has a huge development, Taiwan also has certain advantages, which can be said to be an important fulcrum of China's high-tech industry chain. Its existence ensures the all-round development of science and technology in China. If it cooperates with the mainland, it will be a supplement to China's industrial chain, and if the United States puts further pressure, Taiwan's scientific and technological support for China will be blocked (refer to Google's blockade of Huawei in the United States, chip disconnection in the United States, etc.). These will seriously threaten the security of China's high-tech industries and shake China's peaceful development and national interests.Pavlov once said: technology has no borders, but scientists have countries.Because the mainland and Taiwan are still two independent regimes, and the Taiwan regime is influenced and manipulated by the United States. The recovery of Taiwan is the most basic scientific and technological security guarantee for China.II The cultural value of TaiwanTaiwan has a large cultural voice in Chinese circle. Some of them are related to China's cultural heritage and development.Taiwan has a large number of precious cultural relics of Chinese civilization. This is due to historical reasons. In the Palace museum of Taipei, we can see the most important national treasure of China, such as the "Mao Gong Ding" of the Zhou Dynasty more than 3000 years ago, with important inscriptions on it.The manuscript of sacrificing nephew, written by Yan Zhenqing, a calligrapher of Tang Dynasty, is called the three treasures of Chinese calligraphy. The painting of Fuchun mountain, painted by Huang Gongwang, a painter of Yuan Dynasty, is one of the top ten famous paintings in China. The lotus bowl was fired in the Northern Song Dynasty more than 1000 years ago, and it is the essence of ceramic technology.Cuiyu cabbage is a cabbage carved from jadeite. There are two insects on it. It is the most precious treasure of empress Cixi in the Qing Dynasty. In addition, there are 693000 treasures in the Palace Museum. Covering tens of thousands of years of human civilization history.Although the influence of Taiwan's film and television entertainment industry has declined, it still has a huge voice and power of communication. The controversial Taiwan Golden Horse Film Award was once the top film award in Chinese before the political storm. Taiwan's entertainment industry is still exporting its works and values to the Chinese cultural circle. If Taiwan is independent, it will not only separate the Chinese civilization, but also cause the cultural opposition of the Chinese. Most importantly, according to historical experience, when the ideological opposition exists in the independent Taiwan and the mainland, in order to remove the influence of China and make political intervention in culture, we can't imagine its destructive power. (for example, the Forbidden City of Taipei once forced to lend the top national treasure "sacrificing nephew manuscript" to Japan, which caused outrage in the Chinese circle. Taiwan's independent people used to paint antiquities, etc.)The damage will inevitably affect the development of Chinese culture and the revival of Chinese civilization.the history and connection of Taiwan and Chinese civilizationHistory——the unity of the mainland and Taiwan in terms of archaeology.1、 The relationship between the mainland and Taiwan in the Paleolithic period. According to the unearthed "Zuozhen man"(左镇人) fossils, they belong to the same era as the peak cave man in the mainland, and should enter Taiwan from the mainland through the land bridge in the Taiwan Strait. After a comparative study, Professor Song Wenxun of Taiwan University believes that the most likely ancestral home of Taiwan, the Philippines and other primitive cultures is mainland China.2. The relationship between the mainland and Taiwan in the Neolithic period. Although the sea level of the Taiwan Strait is rising, the two sides still maintain close cultural ties. The dabenkeng culture in Bali Township, Taipei, represented by the rope pattern rough pottery, the Phoenix nose culture and Yuanshan culture represented by the print fine pottery are in great agreement with the Neolithic culture in the southeast and South China of the mainland——A Chinese who immigrates directly from the mainland to Taiwan.1. The earliest recorded document of Taiwan island is 1700 years ago. Shen Ying, a Wu native in the Three Kingdoms period, led a team to record the local conditions and customs of Taiwan. Some people chose to settle down.2. In the 7th century AD, the Sui government sent more than 10000 people across the sea to Taiwan, and a considerable number of them stayed on the island, becoming another group of residents from the mainland to Taiwan.3. Song and Yuan Dynasties. The archaeological findings also confirmed that the Han people of the mainland moved to Penghu in the Song Dynasty. According to a summary of the history of the island and the barbarians by Wang Dayou, Emperor Shun of the Yuan Dynasty, there are many Han immigrants from Fujian Province in taipeng area. By the 12th and 13th century, China's song and Yuan dynasties had set up administrative agencies in Penghu island in the Taiwan island chain, bringing the island into the administrative jurisdiction and territory.4. Immigration and development of Ming Dynasty to Taiwan. The first phase of immigration development: in the early Ming Dynasty, in order to prevent Fang Guozhen and Zhang Shicheng from escaping from the sea, they implemented the policy of "moving" in the southeast coast, and taipeng was also within the scope of moving, but they could not organize the coastal people of Fujian to move to taipeng.Zheng He went to the West.During the Yongle period, Zhu Di sent Zheng He to the West several times, and on his way to taipeng. In the middle of Ming Dynasty, taipeng became the base of the mainland's sea merchants, and some fishermen settled here. The Ming government also recruited people to taipeng to open up wasteland. (in the 20th year of Wanli, Xu Fuyuan, governor of Fujian Province) before the Dutch arrived in Taiwan, many Han people had settled in taipeng. The development of the second phase of Immigration: 1) during the Dutch occupation, due to the war and bankruptcy of a large number of farmers, there was a larger migration movement in Taiwan. 2) Zheng Zhilong was allowed by Xiong Wencan, governor of Fujian Province, to transport a large number of hungry people to Taiwan for reclamation. 3) After the Dutch established their strongholds in Taiwan, they actively attracted and rewarded the Han people from the mainland to settle down in Taiwan in order to solve the food problem and produce more sugar for export. 4) Some Han people moved to Taiwan from the Nanyang islands. The relocation of the Han population brought in the more advanced production technology of the mainland, accelerated the development of Taiwan, promoted the prosperity of Taiwan's economy, and made Taiwan's rice and sugar production develop rapidly.Zheng Chenggong recaptured Taiwan. The third stage is the development of immigrants. In 1662, after the recovery of Taiwan, Zheng Chenggong led a large number of troops and family members to move to Taiwan. Immigrants from the mainland also included some coastal people who fled to Taiwan in order to resist the immigration order. This group of Chinese immigrants provided a large number of labors for the development of Taiwan. Zheng successfully used and organized these labors for reclamation in time. Due to the strong advocacy and encouragement of Zheng's regime, the scope of Taiwan's reclamation is not short and expanded; advanced production technology has also been introduced to Taiwan's indigenous people, promoting the development of production. After the Qing Dynasty unified Taiwan, there was a dispute over Taiwan's "abandonment and retention". Under the strong support of Yao Qisheng and Shi Lang, the Qing government decided to bring Taiwan into the territory and strengthen the management of Taiwan. In the 23rd year of Kangxi (1684), taixia road was established in Taiwan to manage the two administrative regions of Taiwan and Xiamen, with one government and three counties in Taiwan. At Yongzheng, the taixia road was Taiwan Road. At the same time of the establishment of Taiwan Road, the Qing government also sent an imperial governor to visit Taiwan from the capital every year.In the 46th year of Qianlong's reign (1781), the imperial inspector of Taiwan was revoked. In 1874, Shen Baozhen moved Fujian governor to Taiwan. With the increase of population, the northeast of Taiwan has been developed. In the 16th year of Jiaqing, the Department of karma was established. To Guangxu Yearbook, Taiwan has developed into the second government and the eleventh Department County, but it still belongs to Fujian Province. After that, Taiwan established a province. By the Qing Dynasty, the mainland had set up an official immigration Development Bureau. It has been 1400 years since the earliest cultural connection with Taiwan.Culture1. language. The relationship between Taiwanese dialect and Minnan dialect. The main languages spoken in Taiwan are Zhangzhou and Quanzhou, followed by Hakka. According to the survey of the ancestral home of Taiwan residents in the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926), 98.7% of them came from Fujian and Guangdong, 83.1% of them were Fujian, 35.6% of them were Guangdong, the most of them were Zhangquan, 80% of all the mainland immigrants, so the southern Fujian dialect has become a common language in Taiwan.Textbooks for Chinese primary schools in TaiwanThe relationship between Taiwan dialect and Central Plains pronunciation. The dialect of Taiwan comes from Zhangquan, and the language of Zhangquan comes from the Central Plains. According to Lian Heng in the Taiwan language code, the language of Zhangquan originated from the middle land, which was gradually opened in Southern Fujian during the Jin and Tang Dynasties. As more and more eunuchs from the middle land traveled, their language must be preserved.(漳泉之语传自中土,晋唐之际,闽南渐启,中土人士之宦游者日多,则其语言必有存者。)2.Diet:the way of eating and the way of food are the same as the mainland, and also the same as the mainland, folk wedding wine. Taiwan is as fond of seafood as the coastal people of the mainland. Taiwan has also inherited the custom of "mending winter" in Southern Fujian.3.Architecture:Taiwan's ancient architectural style mostly imitates the characteristics of Zhangquan area. Festival Customs: the festival customs in Taiwan are the same as those in mainland China.4.Festivals include:New Year's day, Qingming, Zhongyuan, mid autumn, Chongyang, winter solstice, etc.5.Religious belief:Mazu: the God of protection of the people in the southeast coastIn addition to Catholicism and Christianity, Taiwan's Taoism, Buddhism, Jainism and other gods worship all come from the mainland. The introduction of gods from other parts of the mainland: 1) Mazu belief; 2) the worship of King Ling'an; 3) Kaizhang Saint King; 4) the king of Sanshan; 5) Guan Saint emperor; 6) City God; 7) fordsheng God.From the above information, we can see the close relationship between Taiwan and the mainland since ancient times. Control of Taiwan by the central government. The contact between Taiwan natives and mainland people, etc. All of these are irrefutable historical evidence of the unity of the mainland and Taiwan. The most important is Taiwan's geopolitical value.1、 Taiwan is a natural barrier in the southeast coastal area of China. From the military point of view, if Taiwan is dominant, it can endanger three directions. Taiwan is located in the middle of the first island chain, which is an important link. There are Ryukyu Islands, Japanese archipelago and Kuril Islands in the north, winding for more than 2000 nautical miles, thousands of islands in Southeast Asia in the south, and thousands of nautical miles in depth, which can also deter important Straits such as Malacca, Longmu and Sunda. The American island chain in the Western Pacific is blocked. From Taiwan to the East, across 1200 nautical miles, you can attack the second island chain. Taiwan, Miaodao islands in Shandong Province, Zhoushan Islands in Zhejiang Province and Hainan Island can form a "Great Wall" on the sea and become a natural barrier along the southeast coast of China, which can cover six provinces and cities along the southeast coast of China and the strategic depth in this direction. With Taiwan as the center and a thousand li as the radius, a fan-shaped extension to the Pacific Ocean can establish a defense network with considerable strategic depth. For hostile forces close to China's coastline, it can provide early warning and strategic posture of active defense.2. Taiwan is the sea transportation hub of the Western Pacific Ocean.Kaohsiung port, the largest port in Taiwan.China-EU trade routes. The Western Pacific Ocean is located at the junction of Asia and the Pacific Ocean. It starts from Bering Hainan to Oceania in the north. The outer edge of the sea area is surrounded by the longest island chain in the world. The northern end is the Japanese archipelago, the central part is the Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan Island, and the southern part is the Philippine Sea area. The peacetime of the sea area can affect the economies of East Asian countries, and the wartime will be related to the survival and defeat of the country. The transportation in the Western Pacific Ocean is not only the sea corridor connecting Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, but also the transportation hub connecting the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean, as well as the necessary transportation hub between Asia and Europe, Africa and Oceania. Most of the sea and air traffic lines from the Far East of Russia, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Eastern China, northern coastal areas to Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean, the other side of the Pacific Ocean, the Middle East, Europe and other places pass through the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan, which is the hub of the entire Western Pacific route, can cut off all the sea lanes of the Western Pacific. Therefore, Taiwan has always been a battleground for strategists.3、 The Taiwan Strait is the throat of maritime traffic along the coast of China.China's oil source route. In the process of China's economic development, a large number of raw materials, fuels and industrial products need to be imported from abroad, and at the same time, export commodities need to be obtained. The distribution of Chinese ports is bounded by Quanzhou in the middle of the Taiwan Strait, 10 of the 16 major ports are in the north, and three of China's four major foreign trade routes have to go south and pass through the Taiwan Strait.China's main shipping routes. In addition, China's imported grain, mineral products and export materials all pass through the Taiwan Strait and Bashi Strait. It can be seen that the smooth navigation of the Taiwan Strait is of great significance to China's import and export of materials and trade. As China implements the strategy of "one belt and one way", as the starting area of the maritime Silk Road, the Taiwan issue will be related to the success or failure of the implementation of the "one belt" road, and its strategic significance is more significant.4. Taiwan's East China Sea continental shelf is rich in oil and gas resources. It can provide strategic guarantee for China's resource reserve.Sum up.Taiwan's military deployment.Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty once said, "Taiwan's rule is determined in the Southeast", which not only has the reputation of "key to the Southeast", "fence of seven provinces", but also has the reputation of "coastal defense outpost" and "lifeline of development".Taiwan is only 120km away from mainland China.Taiwan is the gate of southeast coastal cities in China. Once Taiwan becomes independent or occupied by other countries' garrison, Southeast China will be in an open state (imagine that Russia has a military ally 120 kilometers east of New York, and Russia can still garrison on it). Therefore, Taiwan is "an unsinkable aircraft carrier" for China.Distribution of air bases in Taiwan. If the carrier is controlled by the mainland, it is a sharp weapon to encircle China's coast. If the carrier is controlled by the opponent, it will be a sharp knife to insert into China's heart. If Taiwan becomes independent, China will lose not only 36000 square kilometers of islands, but the entire Pacific Ocean and the future of the Chinese nation. If China does not want to continue to endure the humiliating history of one hundred years, suffer the threat of high pressure, rise peacefully and avoid war, it cannot lose its control over Taiwan. As for the importance of the southeast coastal part of China, you can see in my other answer:Che Tianyi's answer to Is China preparing for war?Last.Taiwan's value to China is far greater than Crimea's value to Russia. When Russia resisted the pressure from the west, why did China give up Taiwan because of the pressure from the west?We can see that when Catalonia declared its independence, the European Parliament supported the central government of Spain to resolutely reject the request of Catalonia. The major European powers, Britain, France and Germany, all support the Spanish Central Government's treatment of Catalonia. We can see that no country is willing to support separatism, which will lay a hidden danger for the division of its own country. In the face of Taiwan's independence, I believe that if the Chinese government does not take any action, Europe and the United States will inevitably choose to support Taiwan after waiting. That would cause a legal split. Therefore, China will never allow any real attempt of Taiwan's independence. Even if it's a fight, there's no fear.As early as 1996, the mainland made up its mind to choose war, even though China's military force was still at a very backward level, and even put artillery and tanks on ships as fire support for landing operations. Now China has enough military strength to unify Taiwan. The recovery of Taiwan is only a matter of the length of the war.China is also willing to bear the international political risks of occupying Taiwan, including but not limited to comprehensive economic sanctions, military blockades and even local wars.China's political system and national spirit represent an amazing political endurance. China's huge size indicates the domestic consumption guarantee, which makes the economy continue to maintain. And it's hard for the west to drive China out of the international system.Even if there is guerrilla war in Taiwan, we can refer to a series of conflicts between Britain and the Northern Ireland movement.China will not give up control of Taiwan. It is believed that most Taiwanese will always maintain their existing interests to prevent modern Taiwan from becoming the second "Iraq".Taiwan is now a high-income economy. Its affluence, the middle class there, could not stand the destruction of the rebel war.Of course, maintaining Taiwan's capitalist system and a high degree of autonomy is an inevitable policy of the mainland. The purpose of the proposal of one country, two systems is to solve the Taiwan issue. When the conflict between Taiwan and the mainland weakens gradually, its huge strategic value becomes enough to play out.Attitude towards the United States.According to Wikileaks, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton intended to give up Taiwan's power completely and acquiesce in the reunification of Taiwan in exchange for China's free payment of U.S. Treasury bonds.we have no eternal alliances, and we have no permanent enemies. Our interests are eternal and permanent, and those interests it is our duty to follow. It can be said that in the minds of the US government, Taiwan has always been a pawn that can be used. It is important enough, but not as important as Japan and other Asian allies. If China does recover Taiwan with rapid action, the United States can choose war. But it is more likely to use political and economic means to prevent Americans from dying in the conflict between the Chinese and the huge losses caused by the war between the two powers.PLA landing exercise. The comparison of military strength between China and Taiwan. If there is a final war, the 1950 Korean War is enough to prove that the Chinese will not succumb to the threat of any country. If the Chinese government is more timid than the war, the legitimacy of its existence will be lost.In the same way, we can apply relevant concepts to the Hong Kong issue.According to the emotional metaphor, Hong Kong and Taiwan are like two rebellious children of mainland mothers. One chooses self harm as a threat, the other may leave home.Although mother is very heartache, but will not give up them.HongKongTaiWanIn terms of practical value, Hong Kong and Taiwan are related to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the legitimacy of the existence of the Chinese government. I used this site twice and was happy both times. After a misunderstanding, my account was charged. However, in less than 12 hours, I was contacted by the representatives, personally, not a pre-recorded scripted call. Within a few hours of the call my account was credited and they even followed up to make sure I was happy with the service. Definitely will use them again and again. Thanks Jon!
