One thing that I strongly believe it in is, one can only comment on something one has experienced. And experiences of different people vary greatly for same situation, scenario and context. So does that mean no college is good or bad, its just a set of Individual experiences ? No.First thing that I noticed from your verbiage is, you are not in a good context. The words you use in your friend circle, may or may not be suitable for an audience at large. When posting a query at Quora, one is expected to be a little formal, if at all they expect decent replies to their genuine concerns.Now coming back to SPA, like most other colleges, it has the pressure of increasing intake across courses. Number of students have gone up over the past years, and this just by statistics increases the chances of getting more number of students who may not be up to the mark, or whose goal in life would not be to excel in academics etc. But this, by no chance demean the level of the institute.SPA continues to have one of the best faculty members, a very nice context (Delhi) for an Architecture college to run in, tonnes of knowledge shared through the amazing alumni network, some of the best students of the country and so on.So, if you are really interested in undergoing Architecture Education, and feel you are good enough, there is no place better than SPA (maybe some can equal the SPA repute, but can’t comment, as one can only comment on something one has experienced) to undergo your bachelors or masters in fields related to Architecture and Planning. But yes, if your intent is only to have some fun by posting baseless queries on Quora, i don’t blame you, we have a huge list of non-serious students floating around and world will not be harmed having one more in you.Thank YOU

Even If Your name is in confirm list of SPA-D then also there is less chances that you will get the hostel.As the Number of seats in hostel are approximately 1/3rd as compared to the students admitted every year. The reason is that the hostels are designed based on the the old intake of SPA-D and in the long run the intake became 3 times the hostel capacity.In first year the hostel is allotted based on a reservation matrix e.g in BEM there are 32 seats and hostel allocation is as follows.(Boy’s)3 seats - General2 seats - OBC1 seat - SC1 seat - ST(Girl’s)2 seats - General2 seats - OBC1 seat - OtherTotal 12 seats allocated out of 32 admitted (2017 admission statistics).Note 1 :- The reservation matrix is followed by the merit list (Category wise).Note 2 :- In the 2nd year hostel allotment is purely on the basis on merit and no reservation matrix is followed.Hope you got answer to the question. :)Life at hostel is awesome, take it if you are getting it.Note 3 :- The hostel for UG is alloted in the same way.
