Who do you mean by “the US”? The US is huge! Each state operates under their own laws and governance to some degree. This is not up to the US as a whole unless the state of Washington requests help. AT this point, there is nothing our President can or should do. If he does anything to interfere, the media, the Democrats and particularly the Mayor of Seattle and state of Washington will blame him for any little thing that goes wrong. If one of those terrorists stubs their toe on the curb, it will be Trump’s fault! It is in his, and our (as non-Democrats) best interest to sit back and watch as the leaders of Seattle and WA allow criminals to dictate their behavior.The leaders in that area can’t and won’t do much to stop this nonsense as those people who have taken over that portion of the city are representatives of their voter base! How do you as a politician enforce the law against the people who vote for you? Not only that but the people of Seattle won’t look kindly upon any kind of forceful law enforcement as they are also of the same voter base and likely think this act of terrorism is simply “free speech” no matter how ridiculous it is.In short, the leadership of Seattle doesn’t want to do anything for fear of angering almost everyone there, and federal leadership can’t do anything because they will be portrayed as violent uncaring monsters no matter what happens. We are at a stalemate. It’s amazing how little it really takes to show how powerless a government is when votes are the most important things to them.
