The second my parents came to this country they got as many jobs as possible, saved their money, got their education and started exceeding the average American within 10 years. They had kids (me), passed down their immigrant work ethic. I had 2 jobs while going to school full time. I started my own business after college. By 21 I paid off all my student loans and owned 2 homes.*UpdateI hate that everything is about “race”, but I can't avoid talking about it. My success as a Black man isn’t indicative of a world without racism or prejudice. Most American immigrants benefits from the hardships African-Americans experienced. There would be no Korean doctors, Indian Engineers if African-Americans didn't fight for equality. When African Americans did achieved success over the average American in this country racist killed them in mass numbers, they looted their businesses and homes and burned everything to the ground. The story of Black Wall Street (Tulsa Race massacar) is one of such incidences. Tulsa Oklahoma was a highly successful African American city:When their education, and businesse started exceeding their White counterparts racist systematically when to every successful Black city and town, including Tulsa, and killed as many Black's as they could. Then they looted and burned down their property. *I have a full list of massacaes against African-American at the bottom.Captured “Negroes” before being shot and put into mass Graves:Tulsa Race MassacreDuring the Tulsa Race Massacre (also known as the Tulsa Race Riot), a white mob attacked residents, homes and businesses in the predominantly black Greenwood neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma over 18 hours on May 31-June 1, 1921.https://www.history.com/topics/roaring-twenties/tulsa-race-massacreI’m Black but in addition to African I'm part Irish, Indian, Chinese, and little Native American ancestry. Because of this I have family that varies a lot. I'm into real-estate and I've had the police called on me more than I can count. But I adapt. This is my cousin, when she stays out the sun for a few weeks she White:I used her “Whiteness” to help me make deals I couldn't. On the flip side my other cousin (looks Indian) loss her position as a real-estate agent after 9/11 (Mohammed is her dads last name) . But she's not a quitter. Instead she catered to the Muslim community during that time and got good clientele. Also not everyone is racist. I grew up with a diverse group in New York, many were also immigrants or children of immigrants but not all. You have to find alliances with good people regardless of their labels.Immigrants are not immune to racism, but I work hard and I try to live by this motto: Luck Is What Happens When Preparation Meets Opportunity. What are the most dangerous parts of Las Vegas?
I’ve lived here in Las Vegas NV my whole life. For 26 years. I grew up in the las vegas area. I can tell you everything about neighborhoods here because I have studied real estate and love exploring. Any where east of the stratosphere is very bad and called “naked city” poverty level is extremely high there. Anywhere north of downtown fremont street expierence is very bad and lots of dilapidated homes. (north las vegas blvd east washington etc…) Also s eastern and E bonanza rd are very bad E bonanza 13th street I would stay away from. Court houses are down there and low income housing. Fremont st. and eastern is very bad as well pretty much anywhere on eastern heading north just gets worse and worse. Huntridge area has tried to revitalize by having (mid-century modern homes) but only certain homes look nice and even though they have revitalized you still can’t put lipstick on a pig. The area is crime infested with low poverty and high unemployment rates. Especially along maryland pkwy and e charleston. Anywhere on maryland pkwy on the east side of las vegas is bad very bad. don’t be fooled by the revitilzation of only some of the homes. Real estate and home owners try to sell the homes that they flipped for 300,000 don’t fall for it the home will not be a good investment and I’ve met home owners that fell for the flipping craze in that area and they are underwater and want out! West las vegas is bad as well. Very old part of las Vegas and was hard hit by the recession it will never be good in west las vegas no matter what the city tries to do. Its always been a low income part of Vegas. I hope I helped! If you want to be safe in Vegas stay on the strip or on fremont st just don’t go to far east on fremont st once you start seeing the street signs turn into numbers turn the other way! Or what we like to say in Vegas if the street signs are not green turn around. if the signs turn blue then you know what to do ;]! Hope I helped!!
