The US federal court system is divided into twelve geographic circuits, or regions, as shown on the map at the bottom of this answer.When lawsuits that originate in the geographic area covered by the First Circuit are appealed, they are heard by the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.When lawsuits that originate in the geographic area covered by the Second Circuit are appealed, they are heard by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.When lawsuits that originate in the geographic area covered by the Third Circuit are appealed, they are heard by the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.And so forth.There are a total of thirteen federal circuit courts. The thirteenth is the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The Federal Circuit’s jurisdiction is restricted by subject matter, rather than geography. The Federal Circuit hears appeals on matters related to international trade, intellectual property, government contracts, veterans’ appeals, and a few other subjects. Approximately 2/3 of the cases that appear before the Federal Circuit involve intellectual property disputes.[Note: This map shows eleven of the regional circuits. The Most Shocking actual Map of India(India-Pakistan territory dispute)Note: I have been terse and this is just to give a general idea, so i have not dived deep into details.The map of India we have been taught in our schools printed in the books would look something like the below (took a Google-map screen shot right now of the upper half i.e. the Northern region), we have been taught this but actually the contour is quite different....take a lookto give the actual area i am talking about i'll zoom in a bit.( Inspite of its small area i.e. 13,297 square kilometers its geography is very complex and has immense geographical importance, also has been a bone of contention between India-Pak)I have red-encircled some names as an example, If you see the the boundaries at their top they are taught to us as India's boundary, but when you type in the names i have encircled (Gilgit, Skardu, Karakoram National Park) onto Google, you might get a shock like i got.When you type these names they are actually shown as a part of Pakistan, these are actually a part of "Pakistan-administered Kashmir" aka Azad Kashmir.After knowing this I felt fooled by the disguise, pretty much disheartened and so could therefore understand the actual cause of the problem India is actually facing with routine infiltration from Pakistan.What is the India's boundary then ?Well i had the pretty much same question as every Indian would have, so i figured out that the Northern and the North-western boundary we have been realizing as ours(being part of India) from a long time are actually several kms occupied by Pakistan currently , take a look at the following...the green part which you see is actually Pakistan occupied,the bluish part is occupied by India,the yellowish part (North-eastern J&K) Aksai Chin India-China disputedYou would like to search for the following and many more:Central Karakoram National ParkGilgitAzad KashmirAksai Chin
