PDF Editor FAQ
Compare Hyderabad with Pune, where is it better to live with family?
I have worked close to 7 years in Pune and for 3 months in Hyderabad(currently working).Climate: Pune wins here. Pune weather is pleasant through out the year, where as in Hyderabad summers are unbearable also you see lot of dust due to various constructions projects going on almost everywhere. Mostly in IT areas.Transportation: Hyderabad wins here. you will get shared Auto as well as Public Buses.Cost of living: Pune. I feel it depends on area where you live. Personally People living on Rent may find Hyderabad a costly. In pune you get good 2 BHK flat in 10–14 K easily nearby IT area without any issue however in Hyderbad, if you are looking in Kondapur or Madhapur, 2BHK may cost from 18K to 25K depending on society.Things to highlight here is.Water — In Hybd, Mostly all areas have Water Problem so you may see severe issues during summer. Owner or Apartments buy the water Tankers to fulfil the demand and is charged from Tenant based on Water Usage or divided equally among all tenants.Maintenance Change - The water Bill is added as a part of maintenance + other amenities charges. So it gonna be Rent + Maintenance + Water Bill.Drinking Water - In Kondapur and Madhapur, I saw no good drinking water thus you need to buy Drinking Water as well or installer purifiers. You can check the same in area where you are planning to move.Safety: Both cities are safe . didn’t come across any problem in both cities till date.Traffic: Pune. both the cities are developing and working on building wider roads however in pune may see some traffic in Hinjewadi area during peak hours however I see more traffic in Hybd. One of the reason can be blocked roads due to ongoing projects. May see some improvement once the new work in progress bridges becomes operational.Weekend Gateways: It’s Pune again.Job opportunities: Hyderabad — Hyderabad has huge number of IT companies as well as Pharma.Food: Pune - In pune you will get variety of food both veg and Non Veg which involves North Indian, Maharashtrian and South Food as well. In Hyderabad you will get quality Non Veg food and mostly south dishes. No scope of Vadapav or Misalpav .I will update it if I find some good outlet.Education: Tie. Both cities have good institutes for Higher education.Infrastructure: Again it’s Hyderabad. Hyderabad is having the longest flyover, ORR, metro and one of the finest airports in India.Food+ Environment+Cost of Living — PuneJobs+Transportation+ Infrastructure — Hyderabad.Personally I like Pune.Edit 1:Some people have doubts related to Food, Rent,Education, Transportation etc.Rent:Guys - I am not comparing the entire Pune with Entire Hyderabad. I am specifically focusing on IT areas because I work in IT and people in IT do switch from Pune to HYD and vice versa. So rent in one area of Pune/Hyderbad may not be applicable to other areas.Food: Everyone has different food choices. In Hyderbad you will get all kinds of international cuisine. Hyderabad is famous for Biryani but I really don’t like it [I know it’s a crime] but what I love from bottom of my heart is “Hot” “Spongy” Idli. I cannot imagine a life without Idli Sambar. If you love atta roti [daily home diet]you get that wheat flour from Ashirwad or any other brand. But I don’t like the packaged one. Thus I found one in Hafizpeth who gives you fresh grinded flour in front of you. - This is a pain but anything for food.Breakfast - for bachelors, you will get Idly, Dosa, Uttapam, upma, etc everywhere is dam tasty.Note - if you visit any temple in the south - do eat lemon rice or polihara rice, you will love it.So finally it’s everyone’s personal opinion.Transportation: Wherever you go in India you see issue with Transportation. Surge, Cab availability is a challenge in peak hours. But what I like about HYD is public transportation [TSRTC] buses are more frequent than [PMPML/PMT]As of now, my personal opinion is changed and I am planning to settle in Hyderabad. Wait the final decision will be taken in 2023 !! [I am a Maharashtrian]keep watching this place and upvote my answer if that helps you
In metro rail projects, the concrete structures are manufactured somewhere and assembled at the site. How come watering these structures is being avoided? Do such kind of structures last longer? Is this mechanism applicable to build a house?
What you saw was a precast RCC installation. All the precast units are transported to the construction site only after the curing process is complete. What you referred to as 'Watering' is technically 'curing'. It is essential and vital for strength development in RCC structures.Curing can also be achieved by means other than 'watering'. Chemical curing, steam curing, electric curing are the various techniques employed by prefab inustries to speeden up the hydration process, which will essentially enable them to cast more number of units in a period of time.Pre-fabricated RCC units are often steam-cured or electric cured because these are faster techniques and reduce the 'cycle time' further. Some cast-in site metro rail-line piers are being chemically curing by applying a curing agent on the surface like a coat of white-wash. (Incidentally, the colour of the curing compound solution is sometimes white :P )You could theoretically use this mechanism of pre-cast units to build a house, but it is economically not viable for one main reason:No pre-case manufacturer, however small, would take an order for less than atleast a 100 repetitions. So unless you're planning to build yourself a skyscraper home, this won't work out. Further, the cost of getting a mini-mixer or an RM800 mixing machine to your site and concreting from it's feed will work out practically and economically for upto a couple of hundred cubic metes of concrete, which is typically what you'd need for a typical two storeyed house. Also, water-curing in form of ponding, spraying etc., is more viable than other forms of curing in terms of cost.Hope this helps :)
Will Bangalore’s traffic problem ever be resolved? Are there any solutions to the terrible Bengaluru traffic?
Disclaimer: I want to provide a constructive answer with ground level research and I don’t wan’t to blame anyone, this article intention is to provide information on how efficiently we can improve our traffic system by collective efforts of each and everyone in the system.Answer to this question would be a complete research report, but let me answer few important factors, so that how everyone can contribute.I spent time on collecting data from RTO, population, traffic police, MNCs and few other government bodies. Will Bengaluru’s traffic problem ever be resolved?Yes.Are there any solutions to the terrible Bengaluru traffic?Yes, many. Now little background:Traffic jams and Bengaluru is not something new, in fact Bengaluru known for it’s traffic jams, earlier only few areas were known for traffic jams but now the problem is everywhere.Let’s analyse the fundamental issue:Population: Bengaluru’s human population crossed 1 crore and it’s growing rapidly and vehicle population is around 65+ Lakhs and growing everyday at the rate of 4000+/day as per RTO records.Available modes of public transport: BMTC, Metro Rail, Limited sub urban rail.Other public options: Autos, App based cabs, private cabs.Other Vehicles: Office vehicles (busses, TTs, cabs), school buses, rental vehicles, government and private busses like long route and inter-state buses which comes inside city.Personal transportation modes: Cars and Two Wheelers.Other Vehicles: Tankers, Tractors, other goods vehicles, vehicles related to constructions like concrete mixers, AMWs, JCBs, etcNow let’s see what covers what.BMTC daily ridership: 45 lakhMetro daily ridership: 4 lakhBased on all data compilations over 85–90 Lakh people commute everyday in which approximately only half of the transport is covered by public transportation options and yes not last mile.So technically 45 lakh people has to depend on Autos, Cabs, Office/School Vehicles, personal vehicles. And the important thing is apart from metro and the small sub urban rail connectivity, every other system is running on existing road network.Bengaluru's road network, spanning 10,200 kmBengaluru is only 8.2km per sqkm, almost one-third of Delhi. Now look at the below map:Yellow circle (aka) City Circle: This is what the actual “Bengaluru City” even today except few areas most of the areas covered under here are planned long back and when it was planned most of the street layouts are planned for people and cattle movement not for Activas and mini SUVs and the main roads kept as wide as possible to run large carts and vehicles. The IT Phase 1 to 4 are the clusters of IT offices being setup in areas one by one, from 2000 to 2015 and growing. And now look at the below map, this is how we can divide Bengaluru, there are few IT companies on left and there are many industrial areas in the right but at high level this is how Bengaluru looks like. Why this is important? The vehicular movement if you observe in Non-IT part of the city, the number of vehicle ownership is lesser than the IT belt and industrial areas were established much before so most of the people working in industrial areas very well got used to BMTC.Another point is NICE road by-passes a major vehicular movement directly to western connecting points. The IT belt connects with 3 states technically where the western high ways connects with mostly other part of Karnataka. Now see the below map and this is how Bengaluru is connected from outside:The bottom and right black lines are from TN and AndhraThe left and top black lines are from other parts of KA and Andhra and Telangana. So this Non-IT half of the city is very much in control with respective to Traffic. Now coming to the IT part:History of events related to traffic:1, The first Hour road suffered so much after building the fly over from silk board to electronics city it was expected to reduce the traffic but it didn’t do much, in a matter of 2 years the traffic became bad to worse, anyhow no other way now.2, The second was the Marathahalli/BrookField areas these areas were affected as soon ring road opened but no matter how many projects has been implemented no improvement rather day to day things are very bad.3, In third when Manyatha tech park opened that made to fill the entire right side of Bengaluru to have traffic jams and the outer ring road was the only road to suffer. The current movement pattern:In below map the green, blue and Yellowish green are the areas the IT crowd stays in south Bengaluru. The crowd stays in the green areas are required to cross silk board east-west-east everyday. The crowd stays in Blue areas half of them crosses inner ring road to reach Indra Nagar or reach via Koramangala 1st block to reach outer ring road at Agara junction. The Crowd staying in Yellowish green areas half of them travel to electronics city and rest travels to outer ring road and joins at the Bellandur. All these crowd again has to divide at Marathahalli, similarly crowd from Byappanahalli and Hebbal side has to divide 2 way towards Whitefield and Ring road and a 33% crowd goes towards KR Puram. The recent relief for few areas like Jayanagar, JP Nagar, Konanakunte, Bnashankari, etc got Metro connectivity, though this is really good option it drops them at Byappanahalli from there they had to depend on BMTC, but still this makes life easier.Looking at the BMTC and Metro numbers, metro provides not even 20% of the IT crowd. So what are the options we have?At present government working on the following projects currently under construction:All the phases of Metro.Koramangala signal free corridor.Kundalahalli signal free corridor. The Forum-Checkpost-Madiwala road widening.Due to the construction the situation has become even worse but also we don’t have other option so we have to bear it, at least the good news is now the major priority has been given to Metro, which is really good, reason is a good coverage will become literally a great long time relief for the people and no matter what every other transportation system has to depend on the road network.Considering all the metro will take another 4 years to complete below are the things people, government and other bodies can make sure traffic is under control.1, The last mile connectivity at residential areas are good not excellent but at the Byappanahalli side it’s really bad, only few companies got good enough services for employees.Thinking Indra Nagar, Vivekanandha and Byappanahalli as exit points, the last mile connectivity should be well connected with good frequency, this can be achieved by facility managers in respective companies to collect and analyse data and provide Bus, mini bus, large and small cabs based on crowd and traffic patterns, I know bagmane and amazon doing last mile connectivity from their campuses but this won’t address even 20% crowd at these stations.Just imagine if a good shuttle service available then even people working in Domlur in EGL, Dell campus too could use metro and stay in Bannerghatta road or Kanakapura road, but it’s not available, if arranged then the traffic will be 25 to 30% lesser in Inner ring road.2, I personally see at least 25% of IT people, complaining everyday, reading and sharing posts in fb and twitter regarding traffic and by evening they take their mini SUVs and go and join the traffic outside their respective campuses, they complain they have not provided good cab facility by company, BMTC is not well connected or their status don’t allow them to use it, something or other.Technically we may think we can ban these people who uses an entire car for a single person, but it’s not practical, only thing we can do identify them in the companies and address their issues and bring the numbers down if they still do it then car parking fee in tech parks should match malls, this will bring major change, seriously, because it matches with the car's EMI 😊.When we have less resources it has to be rationed and it’s applicable to road space also just because some one like to drive their car to office will not justify this because they simply occupy more space then required this is not acceptable at all.3, To run our day to day life many entities works together like BMTC, Metro, Public works dept, Traffic police, etcWe should create a new non-profit organisation to bring a platform where these 4 government entities along with corporates, hospitals, ola/uber, public, etc to participate to solve following issues.a, Collect right data to analyse in-flow - out flow traffic.b, Identify each entities participation, group together services like company specific cabs to tech park specific buses, etcc, Connect Traffic police department with right equipment with priority data, like ambulances and other important services.d, Complaint log system to login all above complaints together, for example when a BMTC bus breaks down, there should be an easy way to inform the respective authorities automatically or when a part of road is damaged and causing slowdown then pointing public works dept with right data to make it fix in efficient time frames.e, Drones can be used by police dept on regulating the traffic warning, filing complaints, diverting, etcf, I have developed a device to map path holes and road damages, using such technologies we can create real time map of path holes which is accessible by public works dept, giving smartphones to supervisors we can improve the road quality much efficiently, road damages causes lots of jams also it’s very dangerous causing accidents.g, 80% of the drivers are first time drivers in Bengaluru, it’s very common sight to see vehicles parked at wrong places, slow movement of one big vehicle, vehicle driving at wrong side, jumping signals all kind of these mistakes makes traffic worse, here is where drones can help to identify such patterns and cops can work on fining them or take appropriate legal actions, this create a system where people know we will get caught will tend have fear to respect traffic rules.h, Buses going to TN moved to Shantinagar and Satellite bus stop was a good move at the time they decided but now it become an issue, buses going to TN with 3 or 4 passengers will have to all the way has to cross busy roads of market, SP Road, double road, Diary circle, Madiwala, to reach Hosur road, while I agree it’s too convenient to catch a bus to Salem or Chennai at St. John’s signal it really a problem for rest of the people, so time to move TN buses near Hebbagodi or Chandapura till there BMTC can take care and this is applicable to all the private buses as well which blocks entire Madiwala every Friday KPN was the only company moved their pickup to Bommanahalli so other companies should too follow, similarly buses coming from Andhra and other states to follow and restrict entering inside city.i, Like mentioned above travel companies operational within Karnataka like Sugama, Durgamba, etc has their depots at outskirts of Gottigere, Anjanapura, etc for evening pickup at Anand Rao circle by 9:00 PM they start from depot around 7:00 PM and in small roads they all the way cross Kothnur, JP nagar, Jayanagar, to reach Anad Rao circle on the way there are around 4 pick up points in which 30% of the bus are filled after Anand Rao circle they pickup almost till Jalahalli, this is really trouble for everyone, all the buses going to other parts of Karnataka too should be starting from Yeshwantpur or Jalahalli since Metro and BMTC is already in place Mejestic and Anand Rao circle pick ups not anymore practical.j, We all always see road quality is not good except few main roads, potholes kept without patch for months, they are dangerous for any vehicle but even when vehicles identify and try to go slower the entire traffic slows down, there are junctions in which I have seen road damages are exactly next to signal where most of the vehicles struck and makes other directions too stuck. There are many ways these can be closed and keep road quality good so that avoids so much traffic and stress, these slows down traffic and increases physical stress but at movements it causes accidents, in rainy season this becomes fatal. This below link is BBMP’s status of potholesPothole - BBMPThere are many innovative ways to map and fix the potholes.k, Bus stops in Bengaluru is not something city planners created but rather passengers created themselves because those stops are convenient to them to catch bus and those stops were always junctions, many bus stops were moved a bit from junctions like 20–30 meters but people prefer to use the same old spot because that’s more convenient, it’s something people must understand and cooperate so that these junction locks will not block other vehicles.m, We have our local buses, like below, it connects rural and urban Bengaluru, I need not to say how they drive, everyone knows, not sure is it possible to control them, but they cause lots of trouble.n. Work from home, I am working in software industry for 16+ years now, there are times I started thinking seriously why I supposed to come to office because most of my work involves coding and interacting with clients, who are in different countries and the meetings I attended in office was just ritualistic rather having any other benefit, but every company got fear of people tend to misuse the freedom and start try to satisfy the managers rather showing genuine interest to work, but myself I worked for 3 months remotely tried working from different places, setup some of the productivity monitoring tools to made sure my productivity is same irrelevant of wherever I work from, nowadays I am working 100% from home, people can explore possibilities of working from home at least 1 or 2 days a week and see how effective it is and can possibly extend to more depending nature of work, this helps with infra cost + better work life balance for employee.I understand Bengaluru is not only about software but at least we got luxury of finishing a task if we have a laptop and internet so try using it maximum.Today shared office spaces are becoming popular option among companies because of getting rid of traditional deposit, interior, IT & Networking, housekeeping, security, etc, in a team even few people randomly choose to work from home can save a lot in the infra costs.————— Shubam —————There are many other things can be done, but my answer I would like to give very high level example how we all collectively try to bring down the issue.Traffic is not just about time and inconvenience, it’s causing lots of serious damages to our society, millions of dollars of fuel, pollution, increase in environmental temperature, wastage of man hours, mental and physical stress, etc if we all can put collective efforts to do changes at whatever we can then we can change.I am working on projects related to traffic and other problems, I have researched this area for more then 1 year to identify short and long term solutions, if any individual or organisation wants to explore more I am willing to share, I don't want any funding just helping hands, who can help me with data, patterns, etc.At the end I would like to highlight one of the most important thing:Coordination is the key to solve our problem, for a mega city like Bengaluru the state level political leadership is not enough, although most of our political leaders live in Bengaluru they have no clarity or vision on ground level aspects of the basic requirements, Bengaluru is a major economic engines for India, BBMP and it’s counselors have very much limited visibility on numbers, they work without having any plan based on data.So to run city like Bengaluru we need an agency which works like a bridge between all the important organisations together along with consisting government, public and corporate companies together, this would exchange all their data together to match the plans and prioritize executions, area counselors should be assigned with development tasks tracking development phase by phase by having been validating by voters of the area to make sure the progress. So public works department, BESCOM, BWSSB, telecom, RTO, police, waste management, BDA, BBMP, BMTC, METRO, private and public parking lots, sub urban train system, cab companies like OLA, Uber, builders, bore wells and water supply, CSR teams in companies, fire services, disaster management, etc all of them join in a common platform to share issues and find solutions efficiently.<Edit>Bus priority lines are introduced from 15th Nov 2019 I have traveled few times to check how it’s going, to be very frank it’s really great, it definitely a viable idea and thanks to the authorities finally to create these lines, but people need time to get used to this since we have habit of not leaving even inches on the road. This is how technically it reduces traffic, in few months bus will become fastest mode of transport in ORR then the car owners will have no option but to start using the buses for their office travel.</Edit>Edit: Thanks for the upvotes and comments, I never thought people will able to read such lengthy answer. For some reason I am not able to load full comment thread to read and reply to all comments , so anyone want to connect with me regards to this please DM me.Thanks for reading,
