It sounds like you are fairly early stage but a $250k annual revenue run rate is a good start!A few things to consider;Product & product marketing - I would use some of the funds to improve your conversion metrics - look at how well you are converting users through the entire acquisition/conversion funnel...from when they click on an ad online through to becoming a paid user, and optimize that entire process through A/B testing different landing pages, sign-up flows, messaging, etc.Marketing - direct sales needs to be supported by appropriate marketing so you will want to spend some of the new funds on highly targeted and focused campaigns. Before you go spending the money however, look at the ~200 customers you already have - what channels did you acquire them through, who was the decision maker, who are the users (may not be the same person), what messaging did you use to acquire them, did they start at free users and then convery to paid (and of so, what converted them...look at the features the free version lacked that they needed) and optimize the product accordingly (i.e. you may want to move some features out of the free product into the paid version to convert users quicker).Sales - given that you are already doing direct6 sales I (hope) that you have a good sense of what's working/not working. As was pointed out in another answer really look at your acquisition costs, where is that going to and how can you reduce it through more targeted and effective selling. Look at the entire sales funnel and particularly where and why you are losing sales (see product optimization above).BD - selling via partners is tough in the early stages as you dont have sufficient momentum to get them excited and channeling resources to make it work. So I would focus one strategic BD guy - probably the CEO - on working woth partners to really optimize the campaigns they are doing and how they are compensated. But I wouldn't be relying on them to drive yoi a ton of sales at this point.Team - really examine your team - do you have the right sales people, if not use sone of the funds to get new ones and clean house, do you have the right marketing people?Metrics - this is the BIG one - if you are not tracking EVERYTHING...and I mean everything then that is the first place you should spend money. You need to capture and anlyze every metric that impacts the marketing, acquisition, conversion, use, support, etc. of you product. Money you spend on this will be recouped in spades down the road when you do a campaign that is informed by metrics gathered from every previous campaign, etc. - I cant underestimate the importance of this!!!!
