That’s the basic; and whatever else they did, or didn’t do, that’s the one thing – the simplest, easiest, most obvious most direct way to sink Trump would’ve been to put out the word that he was under criminal investigation for his ties to Russia and other things.But: THE FBI DIDN’T DO THAT. For all the rest of this stuff: unmasking FISA; wild wiretaps, et al. – these are all wild and whirling words – it gets absolutely nowhere.Therefore, this meant that for 2016, investigative efforts were largely concentrated on Hillary – NOT TRUMP. There’s also the interesting fact that the FBI and the press DID SURPRESS the STEELE DOSSIER until after the election.Some Brief Geopolitical Observations.We are living in a 3 bloc world – just like what Orwell observed/Russia. I submit that Russia is now an aggressive force, run by billionaire oligarchs. The situation for the ordinary Russian is not good. The prevailing philosophies are a combination of Mafia-ism and NIHILISM (interestingly, Nihilism as an organized movement comes out of Russia and involved people like Tourgeniev and Chekov)China. And now, he’s working overtime to GASLIGHT YOU into thinking that those are his ENEMIES.Its just wrong – and now, they’re profiting off of it.For example: at critical times, the NYT has functioned as the flaccerie (if you will) of Trump.As yourself: how did this email scandal begin?Where did it come from?Why was it published?There WAS investigation of Trump – but it was not published!Why then was the investigation of HRC published?Because the NYT REVEALED IT.Now: do you detect a pattern here? Remember Whitewater? The great scandal of our time? Whitewater? Revealed by the NYT in 1992?For another example: do you remember Judith Miller and her stories on Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction?So here’s a story, broken by the NYT. And the Wall Street Journal immediately said: “Wait a minute. Her personal emails were instituted before the rules were changed – and that happened last year, AFTER SHE LEFT OFFICE.And we have Kurt Eichenwald. You know this guy? Writes for Newsweek? He has epilepsy. And they wanted to provoke an epileptic fit, so they sent him a pattern which provoked an epileptic crisis for this guy – and he points out that “Hillary Clinton’s ‘email-gate’ is a FAKE SCANDAL (Newsweek, March, 2015 – this is the previous year).Then in July, we have Matt Apuzzo and Michael Schmidt of the NYT appearing on Cable TV Today as the heroes of democracy, except they’re the ones who are pushing this scandal – they claim it was two Inspectors General – one from the intelligence community, and one guy from the state department, saying “Hillary Clinton has to be probed”; and they called that a CRIMINAL REFERRAL.But these sources then retracted, saying that this was a SECURITY referral, meaning the difference between what should be classified and what should not.So the result was, the FBI started an investigation and confidential, but to the eye of the public it looked like the investigation was coming from the inspectors general – these guys who were relatively independent. And therefore, the public could never understand what was actually happening, because confusion was deliberately fomented.And then, of course, it became the main issue of the 2016 election. This was a STRUCTURAL DYNAMIC for the benefit of Trump. We had to “lock her up”! Because of her emails, classified information, “drain the swamp” – the case of Gen. Petraeus – on and on.This got to be so bad that by about the summer off 2016, the Washington Post looked relatively better than the NYT on these issues. The Washington Post put out an editorial saying “this email scandal is out of control” (this was after the Matt Lauer interviews on the aircraft carrier).And of course, there were other servers. There was a report of a server that went from Trump Tower to the Alpha Bank in Moscow, that got no attention – no - but it was all on Hillary Clinton.We also have to congratulate the Alt Left – when Bannon was the VP of Cambridge Analytica – Christopher Wiley – a real whistle blower – reported that Bannon was trying to create cultural warfare in an attempt to surpress the black vote in 2016.Also worthy of mention is Ludmilla Stavchuck, who was an employee of the Internet Research Agency in Moscow, who quit her job and told everything to the Western Press.The FBI:When we’re talking about the FBI we’re dealing with a series of failures. Every one of them involves some kind of bungling – some malfeasance or non-feasance (and when we are trying to wrap our heads around that, think back to the example of what the FBI did in the 9/11 framework - go over that – because there’s a continuum that you begin to see when you compare that to the Trump situation).In the case of Comey – he set up what amounts to a “Get Clinton” taskforceHe created a “mid-year exam” – with McCabe in it – one of the things they wanted to do was to seize the laptop of Hillary’s lawyer – and never mind about attorney-client privilege.Comey always says he’s worried about the reputation of the FBI, and its no wonder, because in all reality, the FBI is one of those organizations that has become a state within a state.On July 5th 2016, Comey says, words to the effect, well, we’re not going to investigate HRC anymore, BUT, she was careless, she was sloppy – (and one of the things that he acted on was from Russian State Intelligence, that turned out to be a forgery - that said that Loretta Lynch is going to sabotage this investigation).So Comey says, I’ll go out there and make the announcement myself, and that will get Loretta Lynch off the hook and out of the picture. So he said he feared the potential for Russian propaganda being produced that he would not be able to answer.So at this point he closed the investigation.Russian Meddling:There IS Russian meddling (and I say “is, because its still going on).And you know? You would think Russia would have learned.Stalin helped put Hitler into power. He thought that he would wreck the west, but then he went on to wreck Russia even more. This was the Comintern, that said that is you were a trade unionist you were a social fascist, and therefore, we’re going to fight you. The main enemy is the social democrats and the unions, so they would not cooperate against the Nazis - which led to Hitler and the Nazis – a MINORITY – seizing power in 1933.And: Russia’s strategy for meddling is a matter of public record. They published NOTHING.Now, I ASK YOU: if the top expert in Russian Intelligence from MI-6 – James Bond, essentially – comes and says, the Russians are attacking the U.S. election -, ISN’T THAT NEWSWORTHY?????I mean, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT? EGG IN YOUR BEER?????And that’s a story in itself. You don’t have to verify everything.The only one who actually writes about it is Michael Isikoff.He writes on the 23rd of September, partially, that there are reports about Carter Paige, meeting Stechin, the head of Rossnet.Jane Mayer of the New Yorker later wrote (and excused herself) for not publishing this - nor did any other news organization run a story.Now ask yourself: is that good journalism? Is that a good excuse?And Steele did everything to get this story before the American Public.He went to Kerry through an intermediary.He went to Victoria Nuland, then the top State Department official charged with overseeing U.S. policy toward Russia, who NOW is described as one of those who had “first rung the alarm bell” inside the Obama administration, warning that Russia appeared to be trying to “discredit the democratic process” in the United States as part of a concerted 2016 strategy” (see ‘The Hairs Really Went Up on the Back of Our Necks’.) but at that time?They all said, “we can’t do anything with that! Give it to the FBI!” (which one writer at the State Department described as the all purpose “circular file”).For some reason, NOBODY WANTED TO TOUCH THIS.In September 2016 Steele (we have this, BTW, from Gay Mayer) is, arguably, having his mind BLOWN.He knows that the Russians are involved in the biggest electoral crime in U.S. history? So WHY (he has to be asking himself) do the FBI and the State Department not take the threat seriously?This is an assault on the U.S. - an attack that is SO PROFOUND, that it is similar to Pearl Harbor.Now Obama needed to make a speech to the country; but he was paralyzed by fear. He thought, if I do this, I’m going to be seen as being partisan! (Because he had said, I am not red state, I am not blue state, I am American).Obama should privately warn Putin that if you continue to do this, you will get massive retaliation.The FBI sent four (count ’em - FOUR) counter intelligence bosses to Rome in October. They report back and say they’ve confirmed parts of the dossier, and they want to know about George Demetrios Papadopoulos (a former member of the foreign policy advisory panel to Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign) and they ALSO want to hire Steele[!].Did you Know…?…There’s also another dossier[!?}Cody Shearer.Do you ever get Parade Magazine with the newspaper?Well, then you may know Cody Shearer - he is the son of Lloyd Shearer.This was sent to the State Department and was IGNORED.(BTW: the FBI had the copy of the Cody Shearer dossier – where is it? Can we see it? Because apparently it’s the same story told by other sources, which would go to substantiate what Steele was saying.)And its like at 9/11 when that flying object (or whatever it was) hit the Pentagon, and the FBI went around to all the security cameras in the area and confiscated these things? And where are they?(And as an aside - don’t get me started on the Pentagon cameras.)Answer: WE DON’T KNOW!It’s the SAME THING! - except that its now covered by the fact that Trump is always ranting about how bad the FBI is.So in the end, Clint Wash (you’ve seen him on television) – who is always saying, “there are good people in the FBI”- has to fall back on an obscure publication called War on the Rocks – because the NYT wouldn’t help – the Washington Post wouldn’t help – the New Yorker wouldn’t help - and he says, “there’s a small army of Russian operatives of Putin who are pushing disinformatsia along the lines of Trump”……And notice: one of the things: the Russian issues ARE THE SAME AS THE REPUBLICAN WEDGE ISSUES.Race hatred.Divisions.They’re IDENTICAL!Now here’s the LOW POINT for the FBI: this is now Halloween – right before the election. The long national nightmare (Yes - it was already a nightmare - and who knew then that it was only going to get worse) started to get really serious.The NYT – Eric Rigplow and Steven Lee Meyers – actually allowed as how there WAS an FBI investigation of Trump – and in some ways, they do – but they DO it in a way that half of the people can’t understand.So for much of the summer of 2016.The FBI has pursued a wide ranging investigation into a Russian role in the American presidential election campaign.Wouldn’t you want to put that in the headlines? The FBI investigating Trump and Russia? That might’ve had some effect on the election – but NO. So: law enforcement officials (this is probably Comey, and McCabe) say that NONE of the investigation has found any conclusive or direct links between Trump and the Russian government – even the hacking of the DNC emails (they say) was aimed at disrupting the election, rather than electing Trump.Now: isn’t this more or less what Trump has been saying ever since?And that’s the NYT. And that was our last chance before the election.So: some of the so-called “heroes of democracy” need to do some EXPLAINING.The premise here is that the FBI helped Trump. Now, this should not come to anyone as a shocking thing – of course, a lot of these people are getting their come-uppance, because when you work for Trump and you have a reputation, he stabs you in the back.So the Guardian of London says (and this is right before the famous Comey letter of the 28th of October - reopening the investigation - the people in the FBI, esp. the Giuliani network in the FBI field office in NYC hate Hillary, they want to get rid of her and they want a leak.)There’s a chaotic internal climate – this “faction” of FBI agents didn’t want Comey to let her off. One current agent says, The FBI is TRUMPLAND; there, Clinton is the anti-christ personified – and they are pro Trump (there’s a group, esp. in the New York field office who peddled this Breitbart inspired story – a book called Clinton Cash – and they said, let’s take Clinton Cash and make that the investigation, or the basis of an investigation……So – take a Breitbart story – and make it the basis for an investigation?ARE WE NUTS?No.But that’s what it was.Now: the FBI: 83% white and getting whiter every day.Why do you suppose THIS is??This is not the tendency of American life. It doesn’t look like the country; Its an outlier. A veteran spy has given the FBI information alleging a Russian operation to cultivate Trump.Its ignored.At this point Steele says, I’ve also got to get this to the British government – they deserve to know; and he [also] sends a copy to [John] McCain, who [when he reads it] is visibly shocked; but Senator McCain didn’t come out and say before the election that, uh, there is this dossier.And the thanks that Steele got from the U.S.?He had to go UNDERGROUND!Now: where did the original FBI Investigation come from?According to the London Guardian there were 7 countries warning the U.S., saying, watch out Americans! Trump and the Russians are hobnobbing like crazy. They’re having illicit relations.The first was the General Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) of the British – its called Cheltenham.THEY REPORTED THIS IN 2015.This should’ve been enough! I mean – that’s the BRITISH! (James Bond said…).Then comes Australia (This is from Downer – Papadapoulus is drunk and tells him that the Russians have the dirt on Hillary).Then The Netherlands.Then France. Then Germany, Poland and Estonia - and they ALL REPORT THE SAME THING.(The Netherlands actually claimed that they had hacked into one of the security cameras inside the Russian intelligence building and they could give you the face of the Russian agent who was doing this stuff!)At this point, John O. Brennan (and notice how Trump and his entourage have targeted him since!) gave this to the FBI; and that more or less forced Comey to start something. And here’s the warning: Robert Hannigan CMG (a senior British civil servant who previously served as the Director of the signals intelligence and cryptography agency the Government Communications Headquarters) tells Brennan that there’s a stream of illicit communications that has been intercepted.(And where is the content of this stuff? We don’t have it.)Now Comey?(who, btw, among other things that could be said, is a sanctimonious hypocrite; but if we overlook that, for the moment, and if we’re paying attention, we can see the thinking - the BELTWAY FEVER - that INFECTS these people)He says that he wants the FBI to be a powerful independent force in American life.Do we want this?Do we want the FBI to be an independent agency?The FBI is part of the executive branch.If you had a REAL president, you’d want the FBI to be more or less under the authority of the president (obviously, today, it’s a different story).So what, at the end of the day, does Comey care about?He cares about the reputation of the FBI. Just like J. Edgar Hoover! J. Edgar Hoover would do all kinds of crazy things – REALLY harm people. If you were an FBI critic, J. Edgar Hoover would make your life pretty wretched.So Comey claims that his book is to promote ethical leadership, but his heritage is that he did virtually NOTHING to stop the Russian meddling in 2016, and he helped Trump, the candidate favored by the Kremlin.The FBI always says, we do two things: 1) we build cases for prosecution; and 2) we do counter-intelligence.So along comes Brennan, the Director of the CIA and says “Here’s a terrorist! Arrest him!” And what does the FBI say?“Nope! Sorry. No - but we have got to wait and see where he goes. Got to build a case.”“Yeah - OK” you answer, “but what about that part of your mission that is about counterintelligence in the fight against terrorism?”Now there was a plan inside the White House – Wallander was the Russia Desk; and Daniel was the Cyber-war – and they said “let’s have a counter attack – let’s wipe out Goosifer…” but were they going to warn Brennan (if that was him). No. they said “Wipe out Goosifer – let’s wipe out the Russian Intelligence apparatus that is doing these things……because you often wonder (don’t you?): these agencies can DESTROY WEBSITES.They don’t have to just SIT there and let them come after you.All you have to do is do a DENIAL OF SERVICE attack on Russian newsites and various agencies.And how about Putin’s daughter? They have bank accounts in Latvia – so go ahead? Put out some dirt! Do what they do!The point is THIS: what they do to you, WE CAN VERY WELL DO TO THEM ALSO.RECIPROCITY, Baby! So – McCabe says to his lawyer, leak to the WSJ “we want to probe the Clinton Foundation”; and the point about this leak is – it’s a leak about an investigation of the Clinton Foundation, which is a leak that there IS an investigation about the Clinton Foundation - which is damaging-right?THIS IS IN JULY, 2016.Another thing is the Anthony Weiner/Huma Abedin computer thing – the thing that decided the election – the October 28th statement – so they get this computer – and they say there are 600K emails! And some of them could be classified!It’s a veritable TREASURE TROVE!Well – they GOT this in the first week in October. So, the thing to do would’ve been go to through it – right? See if there’s anything in there – and THEN you make a statement.What McCabe seems to have done – is SLOW WALK the delivery of this infamous laptop – so that they give it to Comey on the 27th of October – and then they tell him – “there’s 600K emails in there! You’ll NEVER be able to go through them in time! You’ve GOT TO MAKE A STATEMENT NOW!”So he makes a statement. Isn’t that something? So, this sets up the October 28th debacle.Already on October 7th they had lined up FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the DHS - to issue a statement – and Comey agreed to the text of the statement – that the Russians are attacking the election. When its time to sign it – Comey says NO! NOT THE FBI!BAD FOR THEIR REPUTATION! It would be inconsistent with the way we hope to operate on the eve of an election.WTH does that mean? All the excuses for malfeasance and non-feasance – and for some of them this was a jaw dropping moment. Too close to the election???So, October 7th was too close to the election, but October 28th was NOT.So listen to what he says:“I had two choices – one was really bad, the other was catastrophic – if I speak, I’m gonna say that the Hillary emails are being examined? That could throw the election to Trump” – (he knew that) – they told him that, in his counsel.OR – CONCEAL. Conceal means, follow the normal investigative procedures, and wait until you know what it is before you speak.And THAT’S the catastrophic one – WHY? Because it’s a risk for the reputation of the FBI and I can’t believe that its really that – there may be a more sinister motivation behind this, like the desire to put Trump into the White House, with all that that means – I think?But on the surface, its always about the reputation of the FBI.So, on October 28th – the proverbial “day of destiny” – Comey says, we’ve got a NEW investigation – sends it to Chaffetz – David Chaffetz – the witch hunter – who we know from Benghazi; and of course, Lois Lerner – remember her? The great threat of our time?So this is a decisive turning point – based on what?BASED ON NOTHING. Nothing except the will to do it.So, what did Steele think? He saw all this, of course.So here’s an intelligence pro - OK? He had worked with the FBI – he worked with them on the soccer scandals, and the other scandals – and he saw that there was something happening in the FBI that he didn’t understand – there maybe some political maneuvering, or improper influence and its gonna be covered up.Now: if I tell you that the New York City FBI office is revolting, I hope that’s not a surprise……because that Office is known as a renegade outpost. It leaks like a sieve; and there’s a clique in there, that wants the Clinton Foundation to be officially investigated. There’s a guy there named Cowlstrom – who’s name pops up - he’s a Fox News commentator – he says he doesn’t like the Clinton crime family.He’s the head of this field office.According to Vanity Fair, the FBI complained that the failure to prosecute Hillary was a slap in the face to the integrity of the FBI. And, what? Is there no national interest? Isn’t there something MORE behind the FBI [than that the primary thing they are concerned about is their INTEGRITY]????Anyway – stab in the back! Disgusted, says a writer for Vanity Fair.The Daily Mail of London – again, the foreigners have a clearer view – say, this is essentially a MUTINY inside the FBI against Hillary but MAINLY PRO TRUMP. So you’re getting resignation letters – his wife urging him to admit that he was wrong. WAIT A MINUTE! In his recent series of interviews, didn’t he say that his wife told him she wanted Hillary to win? Am I wrong? Am I crazy? No. So what is he?This is why Comey, as soon as he got the Huma Abedin/ Weiner laptop, JUMPED at the chance to reopen the Hillary investigation – he could no longer resist the mounting pressure by MUTINOUS agents – and he jumped at this - excuse.Now – (and this is just a brief aside): Remember Reality Winner?She was an air force veteran. She knew Persian. Sari. A few different languages of Afghanistan.And the story is that she HACKED – she had a story that she found in documents that Russia had been hacking state election boards – and she was arrested a year ago and later convicted on a guilty plea deal.But THERE’S a person who has been SILENCED.Why Giuliani Hates Hillary:We must remember that in 2000, it was Hillary against Giuliani for Senate. And she pulled ahead and he discovered prostate cancer.And now we’re in the final days. On October 25th, Giuliani is on Fox and Friends - and on the air (I remember him saying this) he says, words to the effect: “hahaha! You’ll see! We’ve got a couple of surprises left! Oh - and hint hint! It may be about Clinton!”On October 26th – Martha McCallum (also Fox) says: “He’s (Trump) got a surprise or two that you’re gonna hear about in the next two days – I’m talking about some pretty big surprises!”Now, who could know this? Is this about the October 28th letter? And if so, who leaked it? Comey? Or his staff?Giuliani, once again: October 28th – this is early in the day before the Comey letter – he’s talking to one of these characters on Fox Radio: “I’m getting leaks from active duty current FBI agents…”WAIT A MINUTE! THAT’S A CRIME! YOU CAN’T DO THAT!But, they say, THEY NEVER DO THAT! Right?“A few active agents…”. Then he’s been warned, later in the day, somebody calls him and says do you realize what you’re doing, shooting your mouth off? Later he says “I heard from FORMER FBI agents – NOT CURRENT ONES – that…”And we thought it was coming much earlier – 3 to 4 weeks ago, was when the computer became available – so that was the laptop.On the eve of the vote – November 4th – on Fox News – they ask him about this thing – they say, “had you heard about this Comey thing coming?” And he says “did I HEAR about it? You’re darn right I heard about it! I can’t even repeat the language that I heard from those former FBI agents!”On November 4th, CNN says “I never got any warning. I had no contacts with active duty FBI in the last ten months.”So – News, Politics, Business, Technology & Culture – Giuliani is now openly boasting that the Trump campaign got advance notice of James Comey’s letter – the Trump campaign is not even bothering to hide its ties to the FBI.And then the FBI has this thing called “The Vault” – the reference vault – and they have FOIA security – and they put it there – and right on the eve of the vote, they come up with stuff about Bill Clinton and Mark Rich – right? This is now a pardon for international plutocrat and fugitive – and the thing is – the question then was - are they going to publish the records of Trump’s housing discrimination in Queens at the same time? NO.And, there were protests. Harry Reid, the Senate Majority leader said “Comey! You have violated the Hatch Act. You have used a federal office to interfere in an election.” We also have another congressman saying, we know you’re covering up for Trump. They both say Comey, we know you have stuff on Trump – say so! And he won’t do it.Now we come to the final week before the election - on Fox News – “unnamed sources” in the bureau tell the WSJ some FBI agents think they have enough to go big on the Clinton Foundation (undoubtedly the anti-Clinton insurgency in the FBI) – but they were overruled by more senior officials.Now – right there – Fox News – starts reporting that there’s gonna be the indictment of Hillary Clinton - and its based on leaks allegedly from the New York FBI field office - this becomes the staple of Fox News right before the election.On November 2nd – 6 days before the vote – Brett Bair says multiple FBI sources say there’s a 99% chance that she’s gonna be indicted because she was hacked by five foreign intelligence agencies.Five, huh? WOW.That’s impressive.On November 3rd Bair says, there’s gonna be an indictment – the Clinton Foundation and the State Department.On November 4th Bair says – SORRY! Got to retract! Sources tell me now there’s no evidence!And he never says explains how can you have five sources that tell you the same thing…?AND ITS WRONG!!!!!At a certain point, Steele went to different publications in the U.S. He was getting impatient with the FBI. Too slow. In September, Steele became disturbed over what he considered to be a lack of sufficient media attention to Russian activities.He makes two visits to the newsroom of the Washington Post. He also visits the NYT, the New Yorker, and Yahoo News. He provided high quality intelligence product, i.e., it comes in the way REAL intelligence looks – he comes in with garbled names, spelling mistakes – little things are wrong here and there, because its not based on book research, or copying and pasting on the internet. What you’re getting instead, is quick notes based on oral reports.THIS is what REAL INTELLIGENCE ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE. And Steele’s material had the look, AND the feel, of REAL INTELLIGENCE.Steele went to the Washington Post (that has, as its new masthead “Democracy Dies in Darkness” -HAH!) TWICE – and they didn’t publish this.They didn’t publish ANYTHING.New York Times? Same story! “All the news that’s fit to print”? Was this stuff somehow NOT fit to print? In a presidential election year?Yahoo News (Isikoff) is a different story – they DID publish something. And the New Yorker – they had a big long thing about the Gerasimov Doctrine and how dangerous that was – but really nothing much about Steele’s research.We also had Mother Jones piece just before the election (David Korn – Korn and Isikoff are like a tandem – they’ve written books together).If this material from Steele had been made available to the American Public in October – right after the Access Hollywood tape – that might have put an end to this entire Trump experiment; and the fact that we are sitting here today tells us something about the patriotism and the dedication of the Washington Post and the New York Times.What went on in the FBI at the end of October, beginning of November (there’s another book that bears on this – Lanny Davis, the lawyer/fixer for Bill and Hillary Clinton “The Unmaking of the President”) observes that it is ABSURD for to argue, in any form, that the FBI has a conspiracy against Trump because THE FBI GAVE THE ELECTION TO TRUMP. So where’s the conspiracy?It turns the reality on its head in favor of this Orwellian world of Trumpian double-think.Senator Grassley of IA, and Lindsey Graham did their part too - they put out a criminal referral from the Senate Judiciary Committee to the Department of Justice requesting a warrant be put on Christopher Steele.In an article in the WP after the election by Hamburger - this was a valiant effort (would’ve been nice to have it before the election) – states “in a letter released to the Justice Department on Monday, Senator…Grassley of IA who wrote that ‘Clinton associates were contemporaneously feeding Mr. Steele allegations – this raises additional concerns about his credibility” – the answer to this by the British side is, words to the effect that “You are committing an unfriendly act – you are threatening diplomatic relations between the United States and the United Kingdom – you are attacking the special relationship between Washington and London – the closest alliance.”Does Grassley realize what he’s doing? Can Graham stop his motormouth?So as we get into October, there’s not enough intention. The desired breakthrough has not really occurred; and Steele is getting more and more worried. Then, on October 28th Steele is stunned when Comey announces that he is reopening Clinton’s use of a private email server when she was Secretary of State. Three days later the NYT reported that “FBI officials had not found evidence that the Trump campaign was linked to Russia”…THAT, the NYT published – but the information from Steele WAS NOT PUBLISHED.This is the point where Steele begins to say “WTF is going on here? Who ARE these people that I am dealing with here? What’s WITH this FBI? What’s WRONG with these people?”On October 31st, David Korn publishes that “a veteran spy has given the FBI information alleging a Russian operation to cultivate Donald Trump”. There are two versions of this at this point: one is that the FBI says, we’re breaking our relationship with Steele – basically, he’s fired.Steele told friends a different version, that he had been in talks to work with the FBI AFTER his contract with Fusion lapsed, but that he cut off discussion in frustration because the FBI had promised that they would pay his travel expenses when he went to Rome to meet with some FBI people there, but they reneged and wouldn’t reimburse him.So along with his friend, Sir Anthony Wood, British diplomat, ambassador to Russia during Steele’s posting to Moscow, they say,what are we going to do? They decide to get it into the U.S. system in other ways – e.g., they find some republicans who are alert to the Russian problem so they reach out to a former state department official who gets it to Sen. McCain – Wood meets with McCain in October of 2017, gives him the lowdown – McCain is said to be visibly shocked.For the first time, the American public finds out that there’s another dossier - Cody Shearer, son of the founder of Parade Magazine, a right wing publication – and that it was SEPARATE, but CONVERGING.Now this is a big deal. If you have material from different sources – a different chain of PROVENANCE, so to speak – and they seem to agree in content with the Steele material – that’s a big deal.So in October, Steele tells the FBI that he had gotten another report from a State Dept employee - the Cody Shearer material, which claims to be from a source inside the FSB, which is the successor organization to the KGB – similar story – Trump has financial ties to influential Russians – the FSB has him doing compromising personal behavior – the WP has a copy and they’re not reporting this one either! But they at least reveal, obliquely, some might say, that they have it. Steele tells the FBI that he can’t vouch for the accuracy of the second source, but notes that it echoes the research of Steele that the Russians have evidence that could compromise Trump. Steele writes: “We have no means of verifying the sources or the information in the Cody Shearer memo, but we note that some of their own information is remarkably similar to our own, altho from a completely different sourcing claim”.So - you see there is quite a bit of information here.This is how serious *I* think it is.WAKE UP, AMERICA.
