The CocoDoc UniConverter is a very good converter and I have used it since I first bought it as VideoConverter Ultimate a few years back now. I have always been aware that it is for installation on one computer, which I interpreted as it shouldn't be put on multiple machines - or shared, of course. Since buying, I have had 3 desktops and 2 laptops and have just bought another to replace the PC I have been using up until recently. I transferred my CocoDoc program across to my new Dell machine and ever since have been confronted with an annoying pop-up every time it launches telling me that I've exceeded the permitted downloads. On contacting CocoDoc, I was informed that I was only allowed to download the program 5 times! So allowing for crashes, hard-drive replacements and new machines you could be over that in no time! Their adverts clearly state: "One-time fee for free lifetime update on one computer" which I read as meaning it should only be installed on 1 PC at any time. Tough luck if you have multiple mis-haps and change you computer regularly!! *** Posted next day Wow! What a fast response from CocoDoc. Very impressive. I hope they will sort this out, as I have been very happy with the program over the last years, which has performed reliably and well. I will report back soon!
